Hi Monkeys! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the well wishes and prayers for KuBear! She's doing well. The stitches come out in ten days and the biopsy should be back by then.

I'm busy putting up corn this week-end........... whew! The timing is good though, because I can keep an eye on Ku while I'm home.

Grandma2Maddie............ my heart goes out to you. I'm hoping that when things settle down from the changes, you will find yourself a big part of their lives. A family is so important....... for all of you! Sending you Big Heartfelt Hugs!

That is good news CBB, So happy to hear KuBear is doing well after her surgery. Hopefully the surgery wasn't as extensive as before since you caught it while it was still fairly small.  Hugs and prayers for you both.  an angelic monkey

No, I did not permanently go MIA ! Prayers needed !
Daughter in law went into premature labor Tues. afternoon at the pharmacy, while working.
Water broke at 27 weeks. Juliana is all of 4#, lungs are ok, but tiny and refuses to eat. They r feeding her through her nose and
have consulted with a neonatal specialist. She is in ICU, cannot maintain a normal body temp. I had her Dad like that 37 years ago.

Pray for her. My son and his wife waited so long to have her. This really has me in a "tizzy." I am afraid to even hold her, as
she has wires everywhere. Just wanted to update u on where I am and my colorful life currently.

Sooooooooooo glad to hear Ku is doing o.k.  He knew you would take care of him.

What kind of corn are you putting up?  My brother called yesterday and he planted LOTS of Bodacious sweet corn and said he would send me lots next week so guess I will be putting it up.  It is extremely good.  It is better than peaches and cream corn.

CBB...glad that Ku came out of surgery just fine...she is a sweet looking girl

Grandma2maddie....A's a Grammy, my heart was tugging as I read your post..I would be heartbroken as well if I was in your spot..I remember when my grand daughter started preschool and I felt very down because she had been with me almost every day before that..suddenly I wasn't needed as much...but it all works itself out...much worse for you because you had her 24/7..it is a withdrawal on our part almost..it will be ok...SIL is probably getting reaquainted with his family and home life..after the newness of all of that wears off, things will seem back to normal..maybe you could tell your daughter how you are missing grand daughter and her? Trust me, grand daughter and you have a bond that will not be broken,,make sure you go to her activities with a happy face for her..she loves you and wants you there.

LEP.  Thinking of you and your family..baby is cute,

Thank u for posting the pic Klaas. I dfo appreciate it !

I am so angry because people like Casey A. have children, and all the others anbd they r healthy. My son is 38, and wife is 35. They both got master's degrees, bought a home, and put $$ away. It is so unfair they got a preemie I feel at times. Trash like Casey got a normal 1, & killed her. Just sayin !

LEP........... Juliana is a beautiful little girl! Thanks, Klaas for posting her picture! I'm hoping and praying she is doing much, much better! It's so hard to see such a little one with all the paraphilnalia used to keep them well, but just know that it all has a purpose that is the same as yours: to do what's best for her! Please let us know how things are going when you can, LEP! Hugs to Juliana and you and your family!

Hi Blue Moon!

I can't believe I'm even going to TYPE the word C-O-R-N right now!!

I don't honestly know the name of the corn we put up. It is not Peaches and Cream.... it's not bi-colored. It's a yellow corn that we put up for the first time last year and I'd bet it's the same as your brother's. It is SO sweet and tender!! We put in an order for it with the same farm we bought from last year. He's also got the most incredible blackberries I've ever tasted each year and we put up 12 gallons earlier this summer. He's great to call and let us know when he's going to pick, so we can get it from harvest to the freezer in short order. Years ago, I thought it couldn't get better than Silver Queen, but then Peaches and Cream came along. Now, this stuff is to die for!  It's nice that something keeps getting better, isn't it!

She is beautiful and a nice size for a premie.  I will keep you all in my prayers.

I understand how you are feeling about people who hurt their children.  It is not the child's fault though.  I am so sorry this is happening to your family.  I pray she will start to eat on her own soon and then gain the weight she needs to go home and be with her family.

Please make sure you all take care of yourselves.  Someone needs to be in shape to take care of a newborn when she comes home.  She needs healthy parents and a healthy Gramma!

Great news CBB!  Thanks for the Hugs and things are slowly getting better.  Spent a couple of hours with all the family Sunday and it made my day!

Wonderful!

It has to be hard on everyone when a member of the family is in the service.  I know it is hard on people I know.  There are always adjustments to be made.

My friend's 3 year old (his Daddy missed his 3rd birthday because he was overseas) saw a picture of his father.  He pointed to it and said, that's my Dad, and I love him.  It was so emotional.  Last time he came home from overseas, his son barely knew him and was confused.

Once the family gets reacquainted, I am sure there will be more time spent with you.  It is awfully hard on these young ones, really everyone.  I wish I knew how to make it better.  I thank the military and their families for keeping us safe.  They give up more than we realize.

Praying for you and your family.

Oh, Mere!! I don't blame you for wishing either!! I'm sqeamish about the occasional worm at the base of those tassels! Now if I could just find some munchkins to cut the kernals off and scrape the cob for me!!

I'm glad you've got a source for good corn, Mere........... nothing's better than to reach in the freezer at Thanksgiving or Christmas and simply heat up a sidedish that gets raves. You just can't buy that fresh taste at the store and by Thanksgiving, all the work doesn't seem so bad!
