I want to say thanks to all of you that responded to what I had written about missing my granddaughter.  I was able to spend a little time with the whole family this weekend and also got to watch her last night for a few hours.  It was the best night I have had for quite some time. 

I do however still get the sense that something is not quite right on several levels but think everyone needs time to adjust after such a long separation from one an other.  I'm probably reading too much into it so will just sit back and observe for awhile and enjoy all the time I have with her.

Thanks, but I'm the lucky one between us........ honest. She's doing really well with this one; barely skipped a beat. I feel much more sure about the decision to go ahead with the surgery while it was small now. 

How are you, Shell? I hope you're enjoying that beautiful pool this hot summer!

CBB, yes, am loving the pool but we bought a business in another area and we think we will move closer to where the business is. It would save hubby a lot of commute time and make life easier. I am not up to keeping up this house and dogs! BTW-We have 4 dogs now.

Four!!       Well, I don't trust anyone who doesn't like dogs, so you must be quadruple trustworthy!!    I've forgotten, Shell........ what are your furbabies?

My furbabies are a Jack Russell (f), Beagle (f), Pomeranian (m) and a taco terrier(m).

So sorry for your loss...I wish our furbabies could live as long as we humans do.. God has a good reason for their short life span on earth..I am sure he needs our fur friends in heaven for a reason that will be revealed to us one day...I pray you find comfort while going thru this difficult time

U have my deepest sympathy for your loss.
I have been there 2 many times & it IS as bad as losing
a human.

Thanks for the info, GE! I tried it and sure enough, there are phone numbers on facebook! I had no idea! At a closer look, I think the numbers are only available for those who include their numbers in their account info. I can't imagine why anyone would do that! 

I have a "community" farm of sorts on facebook.  Long story but briefly, farmville became a popular pastime during breaks at work for several employees and it spread like wildfire. My DIL set me up on facebook and started a farm for me, and I played around with it. What I was most amazed about were the people I hadn't seen in ages that got in touch with me through the messages! Anyway, when Farmville started this thing where "neighbors" worked together on crop projects, it became something that had obligations rather than just something to play around with, so I turned it over to those who needed me as a neighbor farm. They've added a whole bunch of "farmville friends" to it that I don't even know, so I knew immediately that the phone numbers and names I saw weren't in my phone.

Klaas told me how to keep facebook off my e-mail, so at this point, I drop in to see my son's posts or take a look at the farm, and after the wedding, I got him to show me how to post some of the pictures so I could easily share them with people I know who have contacted me through facebook.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Rex was a beautiful boy, and I know you will miss your buddy for a long time.  I still miss Blondie so much, my son's dog still looks for her when she comes to visit.  I cry every time she does that.  She slept with Blondie when she was a puppy and they were here overnight.  Blondie made friends with everyone, we never had a dog that didn't love her.  I'd like to think that Blondie was waiting and greeted Rex when he arrived, and they'll wait together for us at the Rainbow Bridge.
