I used one of these headlamps when my electric was off last year during a cold snap.  I liked it because I could go ahead and do things like prepare food and do tasks and my hands were free.  They're also good other times, when you're trying to do something like I was doing last week, which was trying to reconnect my dryer vent.  Withe the headlamp, I could look back behind the dryer while my hands were free to reconnect it.  Also, they require little energy, since some are LED.  I've seen them in stores that sell sporting goods and places like Home Depot even have them, and the price can vary depending on how fancy you want to get.

I like these lights.  Oh boy here I go ordering again.

Over a dozen monkeys set free in Waller County
September 12, 2011

WALLER COUNTY—Authorities believe three monkeys are still on the loose in Waller County.

Waller County spokesperson Jennifer Duhon said the monkeys were released last week from a primate rescue center.

“The fire came up on their facility pretty fast,” said Duhon. “They did what all the other owners did, which is release their animals. So, we’re cutting fence, letting cattle out, letting horses out, and they let their monkeys out.”

Anywhere from 13 to 20 monkeys were on the loose for days. At least one person claimed to have spotted one on Riley Road in Waller County.

Deanna Rawlings lives in Hockley and owns primates too.

“It’s a scary situation for anything,” said Rawlings. “They didn’t have a place for them so they turned them loose and when they turned them loose, they were running wild.”

Authorities said most of the monkeys have been caught, but three could still be free.

Rawlings said she heard some commotion a few nights ago. Law enforcement agents were at her door.

“They had bananas and apples,” she recalled. “We thought that was so endearing, checking to see if they were ours, but they weren't ours.”

Waller County officials believe the monkeys stand about 18 inches tall. If you see one of the missing monkeys, call your local law enforcement agency.

My daughter bought my husband one of these baseball caps with lights in.  He always had to walk into a pitch black building when he went to work.  He loves that hat.

Goodmorning Monkey's,

Thank-you for the information on Headlamps.

You're welcome.  I've found them to be really useful.

Muffy,

I mentioned the idea of the headlamps for night fishing, I was told the bugs would be see you, too
Going to look for a cool set of headlamps, Thank-you, again.

Thanks for the geneology updates Seahorse!  I think the idea of a baseball type cap with  lights on it could be useful as your SIL uses his on the way walking into work.   But then I was thinking if I went out on my deck with a baseball cap with lights, I would probably get mugged by a cadre of moths

The headlamp I have has three different lights within it, and one of them is red.  A dim red light is supposed to preserve your night vision.  Not sure what it will do for the bugs, because I thought bug lights were yellow...

BTW - there is no OT in here, so you're safe Seahorse.   (In your last post you put "OT" when you gave the updated geneology notes)     Second thought:  maybe you meant Other Topic.

You Pittsburghers are funny Smile  I am an original Pittsburgher, and the sense of humor is 24/7 in Pittsburgh.  I know
now why I am so silly:)  Chilly Billy?  I watched him at his silliest when I was a kid, and he is still on the TV?

Thank-you for the hat tip.

Moths    I tried dryer sheets, recommended on internet, for a deterent for bugs, note the
dryer sheets did not work.  Smile

Thank-you Muffy for informing me there is no OT.  We can discuss anything (within good taste) pure freedom Smile
