Body Found Might be Missing Las Vegas Dancer
December 24, 2010

Las Vegas police are trying to determine if the body found in Arizona on Tuesday is Deborah Flores-Narvez, the Las Vegas dancer that disappeared two weeks ago, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Tourists stumbled upon a woman's body while hiking in the Lake Mead National Recreational Area on Thursday.

Clark County Coroner Mike Murphy will perform an autopsy on Friday in the presence of the Mohave medical examiner, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The 31-year-old burlesque beauty disappeared Dec. 12.  Her car was found three days later abandoned. Ex-boyfriends have been questioned in the case but no arrests have been.

Las Vegas television station KTNV reports officials at Lake Mead say tourists found the body on the Arizona side of the lake along Kingman Wash Road. KSNV-TV in Las Vegas reports the body was burned.

The area is past the Hoover Dam Bridge, approximately one mile into the desert.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Mohave County Sheriff's Office, and park rangers are investigating.

Body found near Lake Mead not missing Luxor dancer
December 24, 2010

A body found Thursday near Lake Mead is not that of missing Luxor dancer Debbie Flores-Narvaez, Metro Police said.

The Clark County Coroners Office, in conjunction with the Mohave County Coroners Office, has identified the body but is not releasing the name until family have been notified, police said.

The body was found by two hikers, who said it appeared to have been burned, Thursday morning in the Kingman Wash, police said. The body was found on the Arizona side of the recreation area.

After the discovery, there was speculation that the body could have been Flores-Narvaez, whose roommate filed a missing persons report Dec. 14 when she failed to show up for dance practice and a show.

Flores-Narvaez, a dancer in Luxor’s “Fantasy” show, was last seen Dec. 12 leaving her apartment near Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue. Her car — without its license plate — was located in northeast Las Vegas on Dec. 16.

Flores-Narvaez, who has been in Las Vegas two years, worked for the Washington Redskin Cheerleader Ambassadors in 2007 and 2008 and, according to her MySpace biography, earned a law degree and has a bachelor’s degree in international business but decided to pursue her passion for dancing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro’s Missing Persons Detail at 828-2907 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.

Search continues for missing cheerleader
December 24, 2010

A body found in rural Arizona is not that of Deborah Flores-Narvaez
, a Las Vegas dancer and former NFL cheerleader who disappeared two weeks ago, a source in the Clark County coroner's office told NewsCore on Friday.

"We've ruled that out," said the person, who declined to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the media. "I can't say any more, but we did determine it was not the dancer."

Hikers stumbled upon a woman's body on Kingman Watch Road on the Arizona side of Lake Mead around 11:30 a.m. local time Thursday, National Park Service spokesman Kevin Turner said.

The reportedly pregnant Flores-Narvaez, 31, was last seen at about 7 p.m. Dec. 12 before she planned to meet ex-boyfriend Jason "Blu" Griffith.

Her sister said Thursday that Griffith has been uncooperative in providing detailed information.

"I am the only one out here on behalf of my family, and he doesn't want to sit down and talk to me," Celeste Flores-Narvaez said. "There are many inconsistencies."

Investigators reportedly found Flores-Narvaez’s car — a maroon 1997 four-door Chevrolet Prism — parked in the city's northeast section last week.

In 2007 and 2008 she was part of the Washington Redskins cheerleaders' "ambassador" program, described by the team as an extension of the squad that performs off the field.

Another family has to have their holiday associated with the loss of a loved one. Whoever the victim is, I"m glad they were found. Hopefully, their loved ones are able to have closure.

Body's I.D. Offers Little Comfort to Missing Dancer's Family
Posted: Dec 24, 2010 11:46 PM CST Updated: Dec 25, 2010 1:00 AM CST
LAS VEGAS - While many people are preparing to unwrap their Christmas presents, Celeste Flores-Narvaez is working tirelessly to locate her missing sister.

"I don't get to see my kids. I don't get to see her. I don't get to be with my family," she said. "It's just another day for me. It's not Christmas Eve in my book. My family's incomplete, and I'm just trying to put them back together again."

Celeste's sister Debbie Flores-Narvaez disappeared nearly two weeks ago. Police say Debbie, who is a dancer at Luxor and the Palms, went to visit her ex-boyfriend and never returned.

Thursday's news that hikers discovered a woman's body near Lake Mead didn't help. The hikers found the remains near Kingman Wash Road Thursday morning.

Celeste feared the worst.

"I felt like I was standing next to Satan in Hell," she said. "It's unbearable. I can't describe the feeling of pain and sorrow and anxiousness. I felt sick to my stomach. I couldn't sleep of course, tossing and turning."

Friday, Las Vegas Metro Police detectives told Celeste the body did not belong to Debbie. Celeste says she felt both relief and pain.

"It's good news, but at the same time unfortunately, to the other woman's family, my heart just goes out to them," she said. "You know, I feel as though they've got some answers, but now they have to find out who did this to that poor woman."

Debbie's ex-boyfriend Jason "Blu" Griffith is believed to be the last person to see Debbie alive. Police have searched his home for clues to her whereabouts. They describe him as a person of interest who is cooperating with them. So far, there is no evidence Debbie Flores-Narvaez is the victim of a crime.

"Millions of thoughts going through my head," Celeste said. "It could have been strangers. It could have been someone she knew, a stalker, an obsessed fan. It could have been someone in a previous relationship, a psycho, a million thoughts went through my head."

Celeste Flores-Narvaez lives in Atlanta. She arrived in Las Vegas the same week her sister disappeared. Celeste is taking a leave of absence from work and says she's not going home until Debbie is found.

Anyone with information about Debbie Flores-Narvaez's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or visit the Crime Stoppers website.

Relatives of missing dancer cling to hope of finding her alive
December 24, 2010

Las Vegas, NV- It's been nearly two weeks since the disappearance of show girl Debbie Flores-Narvaez and still no sign of her.   Investigators continue to work the case but the thought of starting the holidays without their loved one has become almost unbearable for the family of the missing Luxor Fantasy dancer.

"Words cant describe what crossed my mind," said Celeste Narvaez, who still can't believe her sister, 31 year old Debbie Flores Narvaez has been missing for nearly 14 days. Celeste, who flew out here from Atlanta, tells us she's still clinging on to hope that Debbie will be found alive.

Yet these last few days have been full of uncertainty and anxiety. Frustration has now turned into agony for the rest of the family back in Atlanta and for Debbie's father who is in Puerto Rico.

Days after Narvaez vanished her car was discovered on the east side of town. Investigators have come up empty handed even after they searched the home of Jason Griffith, Debbie's ex boyfriend and the person she was reportedly last seen with.

"I got cold and numb...my mind went blank and thoughts flashed in my mind," said Celeste.

According to Celeste a number of private investigators are donating their time, helping out  with the case. And as her only sibling, Celeste refuses to give up on the search for Debbie.

"I wont stop till I find her ...it will never end till I find her," she added.

But she admits that true peace and closure for the entire family wont come until the person responsible for Debbie's disappearance is caught and brought to justice.

The family is breathing a small sigh of relief after being notified that the remains discovered at Lake Mead were not those of Debbie Narvaez. But with so many un-answered questions, Celeste says she will stay in Las Vegas until there's a break in the case.

A burned body found outside Las Vegas is not that of a missing burlesque dancer, family members of the woman say in an article on wsbtv.com.

Celeste Flores-Narvaez is skipping Christmas with her children and family in Smryna to search for her younger sister, Debbie, in Nevada.

Vegas dancer Debbie Flores-Narvaez has been missing for more than two weeks.

Family Hopes To Raise Money, Awareness To Aid In Search

POSTED: 7:40 am PST December 28, 2010
UPDATED: 7:44 am PST December 28, 2010

LAS VEGAS -- The family of Deborah Flores-Narvaez has set up a website to raise money and awareness to aid in the search of the missing Las Vegas dancer.

On the website, the family asks for the public's help in finding Flores-Narvaez.

"We are all at a loss of words and are still coping with the disappearance of our beloved Debbie," the family says on the website. "This is a difficult time for everyone, especially for the family."

On a page where visitors left comments from as far as Australia, her sister, Celeste Flores-Narvaez, wrote: "I'll find you and bring you home at any cost. I'll walk the four corners of the world in search of you until you come back home."

Before her disappearance on Dec. 12, the 31-year-old performed in Luxor's "Fantasy" show. Her car was found later in the week, abandoned and with its license plates removed.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call Las Vegas Metro police at 702-828-2907.

By Rich Coleman (contact)

Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 | 5:16 p.m.

A woman found dead Dec. 23 near the Kingman Wash access road south of Hoover Dam was allegedly kidnapped and killed over money by two employees who worked for her escort business in Las Vegas, according to a police report released Monday.

The arrest report and a criminal complaint show the Clark County coroner identified the woman as Yhung Park, 39. Her burned body was found by two hikers in Arizona's Kingman Wash at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Min Chang, 30, and Keon Park, 19, were booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of murder with a deadly weapon, first-degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon and conspiracy. Both are being held without bail.
