ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's defense team has filed a motion asking for Judge Belvin Perry to reconsider his order that sanctioned the defense and levied a fine of more than $500.

On Jan. 6, Perry issued an order that said the defense had committed a willful violation of a court order by not submitting proper documentation of the subject matter of what its experts would testify to when the murder trial begins in May.

In that order, Perry fined the defense $583.73. That cost was the state's estimate of costs for filing the motion that asked for sanctions. Baez had until Monday to contest the amount or until Wednesday to pay the court.

Perry's order said that the defense had 10 days as of Jan. 6 to submit the report from one of its expert witnesses, Dr. Kenneth Furton, and 20 daysfor the remaining experts.

Perry said that all opinions not expressed in the written reports will not be allowed at the trial.Prosecutor Jeff Ashton had suggested that Jose Baez be sanctioned with civil contempt and be fined $500 per day for not complying with the court.

The defense's filing on Tuesday also asks for the court to vacate a finding of contempt.

A hearing in the case is scheduled for Friday. WESH.com will provide live coverage.

How thick headed is Bozo? You would think he would quietly pay the court and try to finish his depos and reports. What does he think Judge Perry is going to do? Say "Never mind?"

Casey Anthony attorney Jose Baez has filed a lengthy motion asking the court to reconsider the sanction imposed against him last week for failing to turn over discovery information to the prosecution.

Baez was hit with the sanction early last week and ordered to pay the state $583.73 in prosecutor's fees for bringing the discovery violation issue to the court and arguing the case.

Baez represents Casey Anthony, 24, who is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie in 2008. Casey Anthony is scheduled to go to trial in May. She faces the death penalty if convicted.

In court last week, Baez was ordered to give prosecutors more information about defense experts. Baez now owes $583 in fines.

They just do not know when to stop pushing - and its not like its a fortune which Bozo should consider himself lucky.   IMHO, he's more concerned that the Florida State Bar Association cited his sanction in their news releases...as he should be, then again he should have thought about that ions ago.

In court papers filed late Tuesday, defense attorneys indicate one of their experts will testify about Caylee’s remains and how his findings are inconsistent with the theory of the prosecution.

About the statement made about Dr. G not cutting the skull......How important is this, especially in regard to the soil/dirt found inside?  Does that have more bearing on how long the skull was there and I'm assuming it is the same soil type?  Or is this just part of the "sloppy work" defense tactic?

I read that on pg 5 and was posting but something happened while I was typing & my google chrome shut down...ugh.   Guess they dont want to risk Dr Lee being asked if he met with Cindy or anyone from Casey's family to get hairs off of a brush (ahem).  Additionally, maybe they dont want him to be put to the wall by the prosecution on cross when they bring up Dr Lee's previous admonishments for tampering/altering evidence.  He also had to interject his sarcasm again about the defense being told on Dec 12th they would not be permitted onto the remains recovery site.   The way Bozo worded it its as if Dr. Lee asked for permission personally, idiot!  They showed up to Suburban Dr despite the court order they were all well aware of with Geraldo in place to record their angst in an attempt to fuel the public with outrage that was NOT merited.

All that motion showed me is that Bozo is attempting to scold the judge for jumping the gun & blaming the prosecution of misrepresentation of "the facts."   He is rewriting history & we can anticipate him being admonished AGAIN.   Bozo is a legend in his own mind & CJBP is NOT going to take to kindly to him suggesting to the court that they did not consider all the facts or missed facts in making its ruling.   Now look, if Bozo had a valid point in his defense during the hearing, that was the time to point out any discrepancies or omissions in what was presented before the judge...this is not going to fly either.

He's whining like a temper tantrum toddler & as far as his record goes, he should have been worried about what the bar thought of him a decade ago.
