Maybe someone has helped Durham to leave the area and, therefore, he couldn't take the dog?
Just my opinion but after reading about this guy and shooting at an officer and at a fisherman, and paranoid about the police, I'm going to guess if the police get near him he will kill himself if he isn't already dead. And if he isn't dead and running around somewhere with a weapon sure hope he doesn't shoot at anyone else

Right.  And, wouldn't he have to find a way to get something to eat?  If anyone saw him, why wouldn't they report it?  I'm wondering if someone helped him leave the area?

Cell phone - did he have one -if so, and he called someone - LE will be all over that person(s).

I read somewhere (cannot find it agan at the moment, that they broke up ~2 weeks prior to this incident.)

Good article here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/26/AR2011012600716_2.html

Whoa!  Then "what" was the cause for the increasing paranoia over the past six months?

Camouflage clothing and a black beret, but brother said he has had no warfare experience, that may be, but this guy is fighting some crazy war in his head, and I pray the police get him real soon.

Desiree Young says waiting for word on Kyron Horman is 'torture'

Published: Monday, January 31, 2011, 11:53 AM     Updated: Monday, January 31, 2011, 12:03 PM

The mother of Kyron Horman struggled today with feelings of despair following yet another failed search for her missing son.

"It's torture," said Desiree Young. "It's the worst cruel punishment that a woman has to go through."

Young knew, however, that the search on Sunday in areas north and west of Portland with specially trained dogs would be difficult.

A SWAT team is on standby in case Durham is spotted, but authorities were not actively searching for him over the weekend.

Maybe Durham was having paranoid thoughts of being watched by LE 'cause that is exactly what they've been doing???  I'd like to see a witness to this shoulder injury.  Faking an injury would give you a great excuse to miss work for a few weeks.

Could it be that "Chas" may have mistook DeDe for Terri.  Think about it.  Terri has a receipt and a witness that implies she was at FM in that time frame.

Friday, June 4th - Terri Sighting?

Also Sunday, a man who asked not to be shown on camera, expressed his frustration about the Kyron Horman tipline.

“Chas” said he has called the tip line twice, but hadn’t heard back. He was concerned other people’s tips, like his, were not checked on.

Chas said he saw Terri Horman the day Kyron mysteriously vanished.

“I was on my way to work, driving down Highway 30,” said “Chas.”

It was Friday, June 4th, sometime between 9:15 and 9:45 in the morning. “Chas” was heading south on Highway 30, on his way to work when a white truck pulled out onto the road.

"It came out of one of these side streets, I am not exactly positive which one, but I am pretty much sure that it was north of Logie Trail road.”

Logie Trail Road is right across from Sauvie Island. One of the areas investigators have searched several times.

"I recognize that truck because I have a friend that has a similar truck and I thought it was him.”

But when “Chas” pulled up next to this truck, he saw that it wasn't his friend, it was a red-haired woman, he didn't recognize.

He later realized that “red-haired” woman was Terri Horman.

“I didn't really think anything of it, obviously at that time there was no reason to.”

PORTLAND, Ore. -- KGW has learned that investigators are trying to determine the identity of a person who was seen sitting in the truck Terri Horman was driving the day Kyron Horman disappeared.

According to several sources in the Skyline community, including people who have spoken with investigators, the person was seen by at least two witnesses while Terri was in the school with Kyron.

Police Bump Up Search for Kyron Horman
Harris Faulkner 9:48 am on August 9, 2010

Just got off the phone with Multnomah Sheriff’s Department and they confirmed a “tip” led them to bump up the search again for 7-year-old Kyron Horman. Kinda knew that but, wanted to see if they would comment about reports that the “tip” came from family friend, DeDe Spicher. They wouldn’t tell me if that’s true. But, Spicher told a Grand Jury on Friday that she, another girlfriend and Kyron’s stepmom, Terri Horman, each bought an untraceable cell phone the day the little boy vanished. The cops wouldn’t tell me if they’re looking for those phones in the big renewed search. This case is intense. Where is that child?!

No idea but ... I do not think that Durham would not have been part of any search effort for Kyron by the volunteer firefighters when it is considered six months ago his status was "inactive service" within the department.

Suspect who fled into Ore. woods avid outdoorsman

<snipped>

Durham's acquaintances knew him as a friendly neighbor on rural Sauvie Island in Portland and avid landscaper who was also a volunteer firefighter. His landlady, Kristi Fazio, told The Associated Press that Durham was always wearing camouflage fatigues when he showed up at her door to pay the rent.

But six months ago, he was moved to "inactive service" within the Sauvie Island Fire District for unspecified emotional problems.  He started slipping deeper into a depression after a breakup, friends said, and entertained paranoid fantasies about being pursued by police.

What about that bar? Darn it...all the talk we've done about that bar and I can't remember the name.  The location of it, though, would be in the vacinity of where Terri lived and where Durham lives.  Right?

OMG, now I just realized what creeps me out about this picture.  It reminds me of the expression the AZ/Gifford shooter had.  Sad

You know, I was reading this stuff this morning and I wondered if this was going to end up being "one of those" moments that I think we're all dreading and hoping for at the same time.  By "hoping and dreading", I mean that I know we all dread maybe finding out Kyron has passed away, and there's something horribly hopelessly final about when kids are found deceased.  I know we all HOPE that the truth about what happened to Kyron will come out.  And by "one of these moments", I mean the moments we've all probably experienced before - where previous to learning the truth, everything seems foggy with a million different possibilities (even though some stand out much more strongly than others).  And then when answers come, how everything becomes suddenly technicolor, high-definition, lucid, and clear as facts start to fall into place.

There seem to be a lot of things about this guy that could fit in well with our situation here with Kyron, especially the (likely) mental health issues.  But then again maybe it's a huge coincidence and will pass and then we'll forget about him.

I wonder which it will be....

The FBI has also obtained a federal fugitive warrant, which is issued when an agency has reasonable belief that a suspect crossed state lines.

Investigators say Durham wanted to travel to California, the Caribbean or Thailand.

Well, let's hope he hasn't left the state!

When was the last confirmed sighting of Durham?

The night of the shooting. Jan. 23.

Though three cars were in pursuit of Durham, he managed to climb out of the truck and, dressed in full green camouflage, escape into the woods.
