The Colorado City Record has learned that cadaver dogs have hit on an area in an Abilene dump where Colorado City's garbage has previously been discarded. Trash, picked up during the time that Hailey Dunn has been missing, was confirmed to have been dumped in that area by the trash service.

Investigators in the missing girl's case will begin an excavation of the site immediately.

Dam it, that was my fear from the getgo...straight from that house to the dump.  Prayers lifted for Hailey     Billie, I will shed not one tear for you, you lousy lying lowlife mother....call it like I see it.

Dogs Searching Abilene Landfill for Evidence in Dunn Case

Law enforcement is now searching landfills across the Big Country, including one in Abilene, for any evidence in the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn.
Sgt. Craig Jordan, with the Abilene Police Department, says officers and forensic investigators are currently searching Allied Waste Services in connecting with the Dunn case. Jordan would not elaborate.

Colorado City's City Manager Pete Kampfer said cadaver dogs were believed to be on site.

Texas DPS Senior Trooper Sparky Dean says many landfills in the vacinity of Colorado City have already been searched. Dean said searches of this nature are not uncommon in missing persons cases that may involve criminal activity.

An officer with the Abilene Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division was seen leaving Allied Waste Services Friday afternoon. When asked for a comment about why he was there, the officer told KTAB News all questions must be referred to Sparky Dean.

Earlier today, bigcountryhomepage.com spoke with someone at Abilene Environmental Landfill who said law enforcement contacted them and determined a search of their facility wasn't applicable. The person we spoke with said he believed a search was happening at Allied Waste.

UPDATE: Cadaver dogs are searching a landfill in north Abilene for evidence in the case of missing Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn.

Colorado City city manager Pete Kampfer confirmed that cadaver dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice were searching the landfill.

"I know they are out there searching as a result of the investigation," he said.

Cadaver dogs are trained specifically to detect the scent of decomposing bodies

Peg Mulloy of Republic Services, the parent company of the Allied Waste Services landfill in north Abilene, confirmed that the Abilene Police Department had been given permission to search the landfill. The media is not allowed to go inside the landfill at this time.

Sgt. Craig Jordan, spokesman for the Abilene Police Department, also confirmed that the APD is conducting a search related to Dunn's disappearance, but it was not immediately clear how long officers had been at the scene or how many officers are searching.

just fyi..when I lived in the boonies and had very poor internet connection, I would print off crimelibrary.com stories to read at home..when I was at work. When they'd publish a new one..I'd want to read it in my own time and thought it was easier to just print it off then go on my SLOOOOWWWW internet.

This was years ago..but just throwing that out there.

I think the mom here was so far into her own addiction..and completely out of touch with life..and being sober..read..NOT sedated..that she probably didn't know what was going on with her 13 yr old daughter. And if this guy was a douche to her..she probably retreated further into her self to escape. Too bad she forgot about her kid..  Either that or she's just terribly twisted and knows exactly what happened.

If I were the douche, I'd be afraid of Daddy. I'm not a parent but I can't even tell you how creative I could get with someone who I thought killed my neice.

In reference to what you stated, I'd agree except for this: If it was such a hobby of hers, then why was everything just recently printed?

if they just left, then there must not have been a hit afterall. maybe just media sensationalizing the situation? seems like maybe it was just part of the investigation.

I've been livid about her as is but we all should be insulted as well that she thinks the general public is naive enough to take her at her word that she had no idea this guy was related to the devil with all that is out there.    No, apparently that appealed to her with no regard to her children's well-being or how impressionable they are as teens.
