I wonder also.   6 3M Trace Evidence Collection Filters with trace evidence from vehicle. -Misc. papers -1 Sterile Sheet with debris from trunk of vehicle.     Does anyone know what those items are?  A sterile sheet, like a bedsheet?

Could it mean that LE used a sterile sheet to gather debris or evidence from the trunk.  that is kinda how I took it - IDK - maybe they are qualifying what they used to gather hair/fiber/debris/dirt??

That's the way that I took it - that the "stuff" they took was the trace, and they listed how they obtained it.  Isn't there a method of collecting trace onto white paper, or a sheet?

ABILENE, Texas -- Search authorities are using cadaver dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to search Abilene's landfill north of town Friday in its ongoing search for missing Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn.

A number of search personnel could be seen moving about at the landfill via the KTXS tower camera, also located on the northern edge of Abilene.

Abilene Police confirmed that members of the Criminal Investigation Division are at the landfill, assisting in the search for Hailey Dunn.

Colorado City Manager Pete Kampfer confirmed to KTXS News that cadaver dogs for the TDCJ were being used.

He also confirmed that this was not the first search of an area landfill. Searchers have also gone through the Colorado City landfill as well as others – as part of their ongoing search for Hailey.

It was also learned by KTXS that Colorado City trash is regularly transported to the larger landfill in Abilene.

Shawn Adkins, former live-in boyfriend of Hailey's mother, Billie Dunn, is the only named suspect in the case, which has now been declared almost completely a criminal investigation – rather than a missing person's case as it was previously termed by law enforcement authorities.

Hailey Dunn, 13-year-old eighth-grader, has been missing since Dec. 27.

My worry, multiplied by 1,000,000 after seeing the Gorgasm cover (really - do not go look at it, take her word for it - it's bad), is that they were printing out the stories because he gets off on it, maybe they both do.  But definitely he would like it, and maybe it would excite him.  So she prints it out so that "they" could read it.  I just bet.

I honestly believe that if you entertain sick thoughts often enough and deeply enough, people with no self control (and it doesn't sound like he has any) will take the next step and want to experience it for real.

Sadly, I agree with you. I can see nothing good coming out of listening to this music, looking at these pictures or play-acting in the frightening outfits and masks. Submerging yourself in the black side of life can only warp your brain, in my view. There is nothing healthy about it. Parents who justify these things are just seeing what can happen down the line when teenagers get to be adults. How horrible to live with these thoughts in your head. And how awful for Hailey she was living with adults who think along these lines. I know that Colorado City probably doesn't have much to offer young people for entertainment, but to choose this and drugs for your recreation is just sick, preverted and wrong.

UPDATE 2:50 p.m.: A Texas Department of Criminal Justice suburban with the letters “K9” in the back window just left the Abilene landfill where investigators are conducting a search related to the disappearance of Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn.

UPDATE 2 p.m.: Cadaver dogs are searching a landfill in north Abilene for evidence in the case of missing Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn.

Colorado City city manager Pete Kampfer confirmed that cadaver dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice were searching the landfill.

"I know they are out there searching as a result of the investigation," he said.

Cadaver dogs are trained specifically to detect the scent of decomposing bodies

Peg Mulloy, media relations manager for Republic Services, the parent company of the Allied Waste Services landfill in north Abilene, confirmed that the Abilene Police Department had been given permission to search the landfill. The media is not allowed to go inside the landfill at this time.

Mulloy, based in Arizona, told the Reporter-News that Allied Waste was contacted this week by the FBI and the APD regarding their intent to search the landfill for a missing person.

Investigators started searching yesterday, Mulloy said. Colorado City trash is disposed of at the Abilene landfill.

Sgt. Craig Jordan, spokesman for the Abilene Police Department, also confirmed that the APD is conducting a search related to Dunn's disappearance, but it was not immediately clear how long officers had been at the scene or how many officers are searching.

A bone was found Wednesday night in the vicinity of Dunn, but officials established about midmorning today that it it not a human bone, Kampfer said.

"They (investigators) are still looking in aspects looking at her being a missing person as a runaway, so if the public does see her, sights her somewhere, please let us know," Kampfer said.

Cadaver Dogs Search Landfill; Mother’s Boyfriend Called A Suspect

Authorities were using cadaver dogs to search an Abilene landfill on Friday afternoon for evidence in their investigation of Hailey Dunn’s disappearance, CNN affiliate KTAB reported. A Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman told KTAB that many landfills in the Colorado City area have already been searched and that such activities are not uncommon in missing person cases.

Also on Friday, Colorado City City Manager Pete Kampfer told KTAB that Shawn Adkins, the boyfriend of Dunn’s mother, is now considered a suspect in the case. However, he downplayed the significance of the distinction from previously classifying him as a “person of interest” as “a matter of semantics” and said that Adkins is simply “at the top of the pyramid” of people they are investigating.

i'll even go so far as to say that even if it turns out somebody else completely different is to blame, they're still scum. these are the low life trash that i warn my boys about on a daily basis. such a shame.

poor david. i'm submitting a prayer card for him this sunday. just for him. i hope he gets as far away from them as he can get...makes something of his life. such a damn shame.

i tell my kids all the time that "life is what you make it". how could it pertain to this situation? all those arguments with my boys when they say life isn't fair, etc etc...man, maybe they're right afterall. life certainly wasn't fair to david and hailey. not one single bit.

Cadaver dogs lead investigators to Abilene dump

The Colorado City Record has learned that cadaver dogs have hit on an area in an Abilene dump where Colorado City's garbage has previously been discarded. Trash, picked up during the time that Hailey Dunn has been missing, was confirmed to have been dumped in that area by the trash service.

Investigators in the missing girl's case will begin an excavation of the site immediately.

I have been thinking and pondering that this case seems to be following the case of Zahara.  All the gore the live ins were ivolved in as a hobby..the age differences although the exact opposite..the child everyone close said needed help or was scared..and here we are again.

Can not in my mind fathom what makes any adult go to these lenghts in killing a child..that they are supposed to love and cherish.

Don't even getr me started on the so called mother..Billie isn't worth my time in posting.  Mark my words, since the moment this happened she has known..
I believe she knew her daughter was being stalkec by her live in lover..can you even imagine being 12 or 13 and having your Mon's boyfriend standing and oogling you in your own bedroom...if the grandmom's knew..so did her Mom.

I had years in social services before I had my son at 35 years old.  That being said ..I never let him get away with the life isn't fair statement..yes even to this day.

I raised him to know that life sure as shooting isn't fair..none of us start out at the same level.  Some are smarter, some are richer, some are poor, some are handicapped..and some are just plain unable to grasp life's offerrings or challenges.


I have tried to teach him to be kind to others, respect your elders, learn from your mistakes ( as well as your friend's  mistakes), and don't think that the bad times will last forever, relish the good times..  Life is what you make it..don't expect more then you give.  And..life is tough, uneven, and sometimes unfair..but we grow from the bad as well as the good....so get off your butt and makeyourself proud.

Hailey's Mom Angered at Boyfriend's Refusal to Cooperate

Shawn Adkins isn't cooperating with investigators in the case of missing 13-year-old Hailey Dunn, according to Hailey's mom, Billie Dunn.

Billie Dunn had been dating Adkins for more than two years and had recently moved him into her home.

Adkins was named a suspect in the girl's disappearance this morning.

"It makes me really mad and it frustrates me," she said.  "He needs to be talking and cooperating."

When asked to address Adkins directly, Dunn spoke with great emotion.

"Shawn, if you have nothing to hide, I really wish you would talk to he investigators and would get this cleared up," she said.

Dunn said she thinks it's a possibility that Adkins had something to do with Hailey's disappearance on Dec. 27, but her gut leans more toward abduction by a stranger.

"We live right near I-20, and that's something that has scared me," she said.  "Hailey was home alone that day."

Dunn doesn't know what her future will with Adkins will be.  For now, she has eliminated contact with him.

"I never through he could hurt me or the kids, but now I just don't know," she said.  "If he did hurt my daughter I would be disgusted by that and would never speak to him again and hope he'd get what he deserves." you think?? dumb a**

With each passing day, Dunn loses more and more hope of finding Hailey.
