More than three weeks after her daughter vanished, Billie Dunn says she believes someone will find 13-year-old Hailey Dunn alive.
In an interview with KTAB's Priscilla Luong Wednesday, Dunn said national search groups coming to Colorado City to assist are giving her renewed hope.

"Somebody is going to find my daughter," said Dunn. "We have a lot of people looking now and I'm really glad KlaasKids and the Laura Recovery Center were able to come down and get involved."

Dunn said developments were causing her to hit a low point. She says that's now starting to change.

"I'm hopeful again and going to remain that way," said Dunn. "I think someone is going to find my daughter."

Dunn says she's been speaking with members of both search groups. She says having them there has been a huge help.

"They're able to give me some advice and give me a little bit of comfort," said Dunn. "I can't really be comforted, but there are good people up there to talk to. They've been talking to me a lot since they've been here."

Dunn said she also appreciates everyone who is volunteering their time to search. However, she's happy they haven't found anything.

"I'm glad they're looking, but each day I'm hoping they don't find anything out there in the dirt. That's not the way that I want them to find her," added Dunn.

Then there's the issue of the earring found in Clint and the GF's house after they moved. While Clint has stated that Hailey never stopped by that day...was he there all day? Is it possible that hailey did stop by to visit while her father was put out briefly?

I honestly think the earring is a non-issue. Shawn gave the description. Isn't he the suspect? Should we believe he saw Hailey with that earring on that day? She had, after all, spent Christmas at her dad's and had only come back home on Sunday. She could have easily lost it during that time.

I was thinking the same thing wrt Billie not knowing what she was wearing first hand, Shawn had to tell her and I always thought it was a bit odd he recalled the earrings but didn't remember the color of the shirt (another Anthony-esque moment). But I will say this, those earrings are made just like my BB ring, the ends screw on, but I lost one surfing and never knew it and lost another one......well, let's just say I lost it and leave it at that but the point was I didn't notice until much later, in fact the guy I surfed with told me "yeah you didn't have it on when you got out of the water _____day", or I would never have even known when I lost it. To me the earring is a non- issue at the moment and I doubt Billie even noticed whether or not she had both of them on Sunday as her hair would cover easily and IIRC she wasn't sure about alot of things. JMO

BILLIE DUNN: Yes. I reported when she was missing that I thought she was wearing those red hoop earrings. She had been wearing them for about a week. She was actually trying to stretch out her earlobe, and I told her she could use those, but that`s the biggest she could go and she had been wearing them. And David found the earring on the floor whenever Clint and Naomi (ph) were moving out and brought it home.

EWWWWW - Are you kidding me? So she was ALLOWED to wear gauges in her ears at 13 years of age? OMG!

For those not familiar with gauges or think it's harmless so let people do what they want with their bodies, let me just please pretty please say this... When somebody gauges their ears, they are stretching the holes in their piercing. The only way those holes close up is by plastic surgery. However, what most kids & adults do when they want these holes to close up is this: They SLICE the insides of the holes with a razor blade & stick the skin back together, most of the time holding it together with medical tape that you can buy from any pharmacy! 9 times out of 10 they get infected & that portion of their ear then needs to be severed off. It heals with an antibiotic.

Pardon me but wtf. I know, to each their own...but this is a 13 year old girl we're discussing. That's absolutely ludicrous.

Yes - special earrings! That is why it struck me as odd one of the earrings was found at Clint's house after he and Naomi moved out. Billie mentioned on NG that these (earring size) are as large as she would allow. Although it seems clear that Billie was somewhat lax in her parenting, there must have been some discussion about the earrings based on the mother's statements. I'm speculating, but if stretching the earlobes was cool and is the new thing to do, and if mom put up a bit of debate before allowing it, wouldn't hailey have noticed the earring was missing? Wouldn't she haver scoured the house and looked in a ll the places she had been to find it? Wouldn't Mom have noticed the day after Christmas, when they were all home together prior to hailey going missing. Just some food for thought.

It is my belief that the earrings is a non-issue.  It is my belief that the Hailey sightings are non-issues.  It is my belief that the author of the 2:00 PM text to Mary Beth was not Hailey and did not originate from Colorado City.

In other words ... it is my belief that a deceased Hailey was taken from her bed ... taken from her home by Shawn sometime shortly after 6:30 AM on the the morning of December 27th.  It is also my belief that the search for Hailey's remains should be focused between Colorado City and Big Spring ... the route taken by Shawn to his mother's home.

Then again ... the speculating of this wannabe detective could be wrong.

MY gosh I completely agree with you, Janet!

It is the timing and Shawn's lies encompassing the events of the morning of December 27th that motivates my suspicions.

1.  Shawn lied in regards to the reason he suddenly departed from his workplace a short time following his arrival.

2.  Shawn lied in regards to his denial that he drove home prior to driving to Big Spring.

Think about the timing of his arrival back home.  Billie had just departed for her job.

Titch ... I suspect that during the night while Billie was sleeping/passed out ... Shawn entered Hailey's room ... sexually assaulted her and ... to assure her silence she was murdered.

Aren't the KLASS KIDS searchers and the LAURA RECOVERY CENTER searchers and the volunteers the ones who are combing through the brush and the hills and inside big containers and such. Does she think they are going to find Hailey just walking along though the rocks? Who is looking for a live Hailey?? The police? Mark Klaas? Cadaver dogs?

Having read the affidavits pertaining to his daughter's case six times, Clint Dunn said he can't rule out the possibility that something horrible has happened. However, he is trying to stay focused on the chance that she ran away from home.

I know this was discussed several days ago but I can't help thinking about all the old neglected oil wells in that area.  Hundreds of abandoned wells dot the landscape, its been mentioned that Shawn had a cave he frequented.

Wouldn't it also be likely he had knowledge of many "holes" throughout from exploring when he was younger?  Anything from septic tanks, water wells and many drilling sites.  Just so many "Hiding Places" in plain sight out there in Big Country.....

Actually, sometimes it's ingenious. The more people talk, the more chance they have of slipping up or remembering something they "thought" they forgot.

I say keep her talking as much as ya can. Maybe she'll remember something relevant. Normally NG gets on my nerves bc nobody can ever finish a sentence, but this case is different. The more Billie talks, the more info is revealed...literally.

Thanks for the welcome - I have been a member here since Natalee first went missing - I have followed Natalee's case, as well as Caylee's, Haleigh's, Kyron's and so many others.  This is the first time I have ever had any info to share that the monkeys didn't already know about.
