I just wanted to chime in here. I've always felt that this point was the weakest aspect of the prosecution's case. It's a very, very strong circumstantial case and any reasonable jury shouldn't have a problem seeing Casey's guilt. However, since the defense really doesn't have anything to work with, I'd bet they'll hone in on this point. If I were charged with defending Casey, I would do my best to pose this question: "What shows beyond doubt that Caylee didn't die accidently and Casey panicked out of fear about Cindy's reaction and just disposed of the body?" I know, I know........ the computer searches are a problem and you'd have to figure a reason Casey would use the duct tape under those circumstances, but I don't know of anything else they have.

Jury selection will be so very important in this case. They simply have to have a jury of REASONABLE people! I believe they will and I believe Casey's going down. I do not, however, believe she'll get the Death Penalty. I think the point missing to achieve that is not being able to prove with tangible evidence exactly what caused Caylee's death. JMO.

The duck tape!!!  Why would Casey duck tape Caylee's face if this was just an accident?  Triple bagging her and dumping her in the swamp would have sufficed.  There was/is no need for the tape.....except it was the murder weapon.  I believe that whole heartedly at this point.  moo

I contend that duct tape & chloroform do not equate to an accidental death....especially after the guilty party spent time searching chloroform & neck breaking well prior to making up an alibi with the "Zanny the nanny" story.   I'm dam near certain a jury wont either...not even one potential hold out after it is well deliberated.   I agree this case appears to be circumstantial but too much points to murder & motive to be overcome by any defense attempt to explain it away, especially these slimebuckets.

WFTV has confirmed someone, though it's not clear who, has filed a grievance against Jose Baez for allegedly misrepresenting facts to the court.

"If this is true, other than stealing or being accused of stealing a client's money, there is no more serious charge that a lawyer can face," Sheaffer said.

Sheaffer, who served as the vice chair of the Florida Bar Association's Grievance Committee says, on a scale of one to 10, as charges go, it's a ten. The grievance apparently comes from an accusation made by Casey's parents' former attorney, Brad Conway.

Conway told Orange County sheriff's investigators four months ago that Baez lied to Chief Judge Belvin Perry about how Conway had seen evidence showing Caylee's body was not in the woods four months before her remains were found, but Conway told them, "I certainly did not see that, wasn't aware of it."

Conway said, at the time, he was thinking, "Bull****, it didn't happen."

I do like Mr. Sheaffer very much, however I have to disagree with him on one point he made. He said Baez is over zealously representing this case and therefore it's clouding his good judgement.   Baez sat on his ass for 2 years and is now trying to play catch up......that is not being over zealous in my book.  And I have yet to see Baez use good judgement in anything to date. 

This is a 10, BS says!  The only thing worse is stealing money from your client. (Macaluso)  But until I know where every dime of that money went, whose to say Baez hasn't stolen his client's money?  moo

Yeah I agree he did keep some of caseys money! and your right he was too busy spending her money he procrastinated and before you knew it he was so far behind. His ego was so great! he thought that lyons and the others would do his work for him and than they started falling off the tree and the ship he was trying to use sunk on him!!! the ss clownship is sinking!!

I think what BS means by being "overzealous" is the lengths Bozo has gone to misrepresent facts, hire a PI to get falsified info & lie to the court about possible exculpatory evidence...worthy of note this goes all the way back to the beginning & includes Todd "Mac the Knife" Macaluso's claims in court before that sleaze was removed from this case over his other unethical charges.

CBB I think we have to think about all possibilities with this case. I agree they don't have an official cause of death for Caylee.  But when the state puts forth their case I don't think there will be any doubt she was murdered. As much as I would like Casey get the DP I don't think she will get it either. She will get Life.  Justice for Caylee is coming.

Casey never feared Cindy a day in her life....she ruled Cindy.  Grandma Shirley Plesea said Casey hated (not feared) Cindy more than she loved Caylee.  One wouldn't panic over someone they hated, quite the contrary. What Casey did in those 31 days shows that, imo.

Tupelohoney, I have often thought that momster, in part, killed Caylee to spite her mother for being such a nag, a mother and not grandmother to Caylee, a Caseywannabe, etc.
