Are suspicious packages/devices the new norm in America?  A warning for Americans?  Were there this many prior to Obama?

This was Friday afternoon in Illinois -

Quote
"Andre Wrenn, a conductor on the Metra train, said he was alerted by a passenger in the third car from the rear of the train. The passenger had stepped into the bathroom at the Lombard stop and found the suspicious package placed between the handicap handrails and wall in the bathroom. Wren said the passenger told him, “It’s just didn’t look right.”

Wrenn described the suspicious package as two glass tubes with a lead pipe connecting them and wires coming out."

Quote
"Officers responded to a report of a suspicious package located on the first floor parking structure of 'Macy's', 400 High St. NE. Responding officers found a duffel bag with an antenna sticking out of, which had been reported by a store employee."

What made this call unusual was the description of the device; Lt. Jim Anglemier told Salem-News.com. The suspect went to some effort to make the suspected bomb look real.

"The suspicious package had been made to look like an actual explosive device by an unknown person's."
