Judy Adkins


 

1929-2004

ROTAN -- Julia “Judy” Joe Adkins, mother of Sandy Nichols of Snyder, died Saturday, April 24, in Abilene.
Service for Mrs. Adkins, 75, is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church in Rotan with Randy Evans and Dutch Parks officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born Feb. 3, 1929 in Kent County, she married Charles “Chuck” Lamar Adkins in 1952 in Snyder. Mrs. Adkins worked at Allsup’s for 25 years and at the same time she worked at Rotan Healthcare Center for 10 years. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vollie and Sarah Reynolds Shipp; her husband, Chuck Adkins in 1974; a son, Billy Don Adkins in 1987; and a brother, Charles Shipp.

Survivors also include a son, Charles Clay Endgate Adkins of Abilene; a son-in-law, Dean Nichols of Snyder; three brothers, Dean Shipp of Friona, Delbert Shipp of Seminole and Buddy Shipp of Childress; and seven grandchildren.
Family visitation is set for 6-8 this evening at the funeral home.

Pop and the son, resemble, one another, IMO.
