from early article:
Alice Elizabeth Davis, a 55-year-old English teacher at Parkside High School in Salisbury, was last seen at about 6:30 p.m. on Labor Day. According to her husband, she left their Allen home to go shopping at a Walmart in nearby Fruitland, Md.

When Davis failed to return home by 8 p.m. her husband contacted police and reported her missing. During a search of the shopping center property, investigators spotted Davis' blue Honda hatchback parked across the street in a Big Lots parking lot.

According to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, the lead agency investigating the case, officers found no signs of a struggle in or around the vehicle. Investigators also reviewed video surveillance cameras at Walmart and Big Lots and found no evidence that Davis was at either store Monday.

Husband of missing teacher found dead
September 8, 2011

ALLEN, Md. -- The husband of a missing Wicomico teacher was found dead Wednesday in the living room of their Allen Road home by Wicomico County law enforcement officers.

The body of Jesse Davis, 58, was found at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sheriff Mike Lewis.

Jesse Davis had been in contact with the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation regarding the disappearance of his wife, Alice Elizabeth Davis, the 55-year-old Parkside High School teacher he reported missing.

Police on the scene said they think he committed suicide. Officers had gone to the house as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Alice Davis.

Lewis would not comment on whether Jesse Davis was a suspect in the disappearance of his wife.

Police have collected evidence that is being analyzed at the Maryland State Police crime lab in Reisterstown. Lewis declined to identify or give additional information on items collected.

No suspects have been detained by police or charged at this time in the disappearance of Davis.

The disappearance of a former teacher of the year took a dark turn when her taxidermist husband -- and the chief supect in her disapperance -- was found dead in an apparent suicide, Maryland police said today.

The body of Jesse Davis was found in the couple's home Wednesday night, three days after he reported his wife, Alice Davis, missing.

Police are now saying Jesse Davis, 58, was the main suspect in his wife's disappearance.

Alice Davis, 55, was last seen Sunday evening, when she allegedly left to go shopping at Walmart. Her husband reported her missing on Monday evening. She has still not been located.

In a press conference today, investigators from the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said that they believed Jesse Davis knew exactly what happened to his wife.

"Jesse Davis initiated a deliberate, calculated and continuous course of deception and fabrications surrounding the disappearance of his wife," Sheriff Michael Lewis said.

Jesse Davis was under "constant surveillance" by deputies and on Wednesday night, a car pulled into the Davis driveway and someone entered the house, police said. Moments later, the person exited the house after observing blood on the kitchen floor. Deputies secured the perimeter and moved in.

Inside, they found "the body of 58-year-old Jesse Davis in his living room recliner. It appears he died from self-inflicted lacerations to the left arm. Nearby evidence supported this as well," Lewis said.

Unfortunately, Mr. Davis was a hunter and knew all kinds of places to hide a body.
My prayers continue for Alice Davis' family.

Body Found in Somerset County
Posted September 11, 2011-Updated September 12, 2011

RINCESS ANNE, Md - Members of a Somerset County church made a surprising discovery in the woods behind their sanctuary on Sunday. Maryland State Police say they were called to the scene after reports of a body found.

The wooded area where the body was found is located behind the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob Church on the 1300 block of Loretto Road in Princess Anne.

Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene at around 5 p.m. Sunday to begin an investigation.

Police said the body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy and positive identification.

According to police, there were signs of trauma to the body, but specific information about the trauma is not being released.

Investigators said they are aware of the continuing search for the missing woman from Wicomico County, 55-year-old Alice Elizabeth Davis.  Troopers have notified members of the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, but will not confirm if the body is that of Davis.

While the sheriff said that currently all evidence leads investigators to believe that Jess Davis was responsible for his wife's disappearance, he added, "We're not ruling out any other suspects at this time."

Police continue to search for Alice Davis and are following up on all leads. Detectives also said they are currently awaiting the results of forensic testing by the Maryland State Police Crime Lab.

I'll move this on over to "Missing Found Deceased".  I didn't hold much hope Alice would be found alive.  At least now she can be laid to rest.   an angelic monkey  Thank you for posting the updated information Sister.  It's sad her life was taken.
