So they actually expect Kathi Belich to rebut witnesses regarding Laura Buchanut, opps I mean Buchanan as well as having some sort of testimony regarding inmate Maya Derkovich whom the State has decided not to call as a witness...hmmm    Don't they realize that even if the State does not call witnesses that after the defense calls them the State will get to cross?  Do they actually expect Kathi Belich is going to be helpful to their case, hardly...this is beyond absurd.   What are they going to do attempt to force her to reveal sources next...come on now!

The slam they felt appropriate regarding Kathi's name is just too immature to comment further on...and so the H what she has another name, what are they implying that she has aliases in secret, that she really is a report by day & a harden criminal by night?   Seriously WTF!

I know this, they barked up the wrong bush with her once too many, this will end up backfiring on them very poorly as well.   Dumb move, even if just from a PR standpoint, really dumb move.

The sheer spitefulness of Jose Baez is utterly repugnant! This creep has never grown up. He is trying to mess with Kathi Belich's livelihood by trying to prevent her from doing her job.

Which is precisely why Kathi will have the last laugh...I'd be willing to put a high stake bet on that

Casey Anthony defense explains late witness list

The Casey Anthony defense team filed a motion explaining the late addition of defense witnesses in the high-profile case, including the addition of a WFTV reporter.

On Tuesday, the prosecution challenged a defense team's supplemental witness list which was filed late Monday. That list includes the name Kathleen Belich, the WFTV reporter. The prosecution took issue with the filing of defense witnesses so late in the process.

On Wednesday, the defense team responded, saying Belich was listed as a witness "to rebut witnesses just listed by the state involving an investigation launched against Laura Buchanan."

Laura Buchanan was a Texas EquuSearch volunteer who became a critical witness because she claimed to search an area where the remains of 2-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony was found in late 2008. Others have said the area Buchanan claimed to search in early September 2008 was under water at that time.

I can't help but notice the nasty tone the defense seems to always have.

He is always nasty in his motions, he uses nastiness and inuendo, instead of case law.  Every single motion is a pointing fingers mess.  I hate him.  I really do.  I wish him almost as much miserableness for the rest of his sorry life than I do his murdering client.  Jar just needs to go away and get some new batteries for his hearing aid and maybe retire.  There are a whole lot of adult care homes in Florida he can go to.  Maybe there is an opening where Caylee's Grandpa is living.

Not only the nasty tone but whoever types these motions needs some lessons in spelling and proofreading.  "The State has 'not' intention."  Also in this motion they type "There," when they intend "Their."  The only thing missing here is the misuse of "Whom."  I know that misspelling isn't important in say, a forum (And I plead guilty to that,) but one would think that legal documents should be proofread to assure that  each word is spelled correctly. IMO it reflects poorly on the Baez Law Firm and is typical of the slovenly way Mr. Baez conducts his own affairs, i.e. having his driver's license suspended, although briefly.  I wonder if he pays his typist minimum wage.  You get what you pay for.

I still wonder where that $250,000 plus went.  But as of now, Casey is indeed getting what she's paying for.

Totally agree, if the attorney doesnt proof it personally staff on a regular basis should be charged to do so with every document leaving that law firm, period.   Over the years I have witnessed many a tongue lashing & warnings of getting fired due to lazy errors not being caught, especially grave is when one is made that might change the intent of the sentence.

Then again on a sidebar note, Bozo even uses "firm" loosely IMHO, its not like he has a staff of attorneys nor a partner(s)...as of this date he has ONE (1) listed with a very small staff in different positions.

Yup, I do medical transcription, kind of same thing, and we are audited monthly.  If we make an error, we are deducted points.  We have to have a certain percentage to keep our jobs.  I know legal transcription is a bit different, not sure if audits are done, but I would think so.

How juvenile are Baez and Chaney?  OMG!    Isn't it outrageous what some will do to keep the truth from being told?  I'm glad R Hornsby hopped right on that sequestration article.  Kathi B is going to do her best work during this trial, I have a feeling.    

I am not one to wish time away, however, the unrelenting travesty of justice in this case has me wishing for the trial to be here already.  JB and CM deliver a massive slap in the face to any lawyer who is trying to make an honest living, and truly cares about justice and their clients.  JB epitomizes every bad lawyer joke and then some we had not even heard yet, nor could we imagine in the darkest recesses of our minds, and God-willing will never hear or see again.

There is a precious baby named Caylee at the center of this process, a fact the prosecution has never lost sight of, let's not forget about her while watching the unsophisticated and cruel courtroom performances by the DT.  I suggest they hire a personal trainer to get them in shape for the quickly approaching trial.  

Caylee is no relative of mine, yet ever since her mother cruelly stopped the beating of this angel's heart, mine continues to beat for her, as do many others.  You cannot stop a loving heart, her beat continues to go on and get stronger as we near the date of trial and justice for this loving angel named Caylee.  Bless you, baby girl.

I agree, Bearly, you said it so well.   And, I'm like you, just can't wait for this trial to begin!  I fear there will be a delay tho. Baez and Chaney are not done yet....    I foresee some real "shaningans" happening either right before jury selection or during.  All for delay.  And I have no doubt that they will try all sorts of things during the trial as well.  It may take longer than we want, but in the end, whenever that is, there WILL be JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE.

The world is not safe with Casey roaming free.  What I think her parents are failing to realize is Casey is safer in jail.  She is broken, and has been for some time.  No one bothered to search for the "tools" needed to help her as she grew into the person she is today.  The only thing they did was enable her.  Instead of her brother proclaiming "CMA" from his self-made pulpit, he could have convinced his sister to get help, he is the closest person to her.  How can you proclaim you love her, for all to see and not get her the help she so desperately needed.  Actions always speak louder than words.  This families actions speak volumes.  There is no need to proclaim "I love you" for the world to see if your actions show that loud and clear.  Clearly her family does not love her, they only appear to tolerate her.  Now they are trying to make up for that.  Too late for Casey, much much too late for Caylee.  

It appears from the witness list for the penalty phase they are looking to prove Casey has had a break with reality, is bipolar, or something similar and has always been this way.  Instead of covering her tracks, her parents should have been getting her help.  Her Mother knew about Casey's issues, why did she ever let Casey remove Caylee from her home in the state she was in?  They certainly knew how to call 911 at other times, why not when a helpless and innocent child has been removed from their home in a rage?  (I am referring to when Cindy tried to strangle Casey, I believe that was the catalyst that started the death machine known as Casey, and put everything in motion leading to Caylee's brutal murder.  This was eventually going to  happen, according to Casey's digital tracks.  I think each knock down with Cindy furthered Casey's agenda until she finally went through with it.)  Cindy and George are lucky to be alive.  They were in her sights as the next or possibly even first victims.  

Casey appears to love being in court and actually thrives on it.  Her parents are also safer with her locked away.  It appears they were next on her hit list.  She was either falling further from reality or her lies were rolling off her tongue easier with every "mistruth."  She appears to have no remorse for what she has done.  She does not appear to miss her amazing daughter at all.  In all fairness, I know I hold things in, and I will give her some slack for that.  The thing I do know is if my son were missing or found dead (I want to freak out just typing those words), there would be no consoling me.  I would not be flirting with anyone because, quite frankly, no one in this world would appeal to me.  I would not get past the fact that my child was gone and that someone violated her.  Casey appears to be just fine.  Ugly coping?  I don't buy that for a minute.  Ugly black heart, that I buy.  I would not believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.  My heart hurts for this baby and her tragic life.  My sympathy to all who loved her and continue to do so.  I feel for all of those who have gotten in the path of destruction known as Casey.  There will be more victims, of that you can be sure.
