Everyone who knows me knows I am an open book. I did infact go and get a tattoo and yes I went to a bar once or twice. I was so smart that I actually went to the bar with a huge magnet on the side of my car that had Amber's missing info on it.  Amber was my best friend and she had a great life. How in the world could this man not be bitter? His child was brutally taken away from him. He was able to pick himself up and do good for others, he didn't go and hide and do nothing with his life. I have a question, if I may please ask:

There were rumors abound when Amber went missing, but I don't remember anything as bad as the videos of Shawn & his cousin popping up in Amber's case. I also don't remember anything horrible in affidavits, etc such as in Billie & Shawn's with investigators informing they used the money from the ATM to purchase illegal narcotics. My question to you is have you ever seen anything like this? Would a police officer intentionally lie in a legal affidavit in order to secure a warrant?

With law enforcement & he's spoken of it himself many times...not what happened to his daughter, that no one can fault him for in any manner whatsoever

I don't follow this case but someone emailed me to let me know that Carrie's character was in question. Sorry Klaas but somethings I just refuse to stand by and stay silent. I have to post this, no disrespect to you.

Nobody has the right to question the intentions of Carrie. She is an upstanding person, she was the best advocate for her beloved Amber and is now sharing her compassion with other families. She is #1 in my book and I will debate, argue and ram that point down anyones throat who says otherwise.

Carrie you forever have my admiration and support. Love and prayers to you and your sweet, beautiful angel, Amber. I am a better person and a better mom for being involved in your daughters case and for knowing who you are.

Now back to the task at hand, find yet another missing child. Hailey is lucky to have such attention. I pray you all find her very soon.

Carrie, I'm really sorry.  I can't being to imagine the pain you've been through. 

I also want to express to you how sorry I am that your little girl was taken from you in such a horrific heinous manner...no one can imagine what you have & continue to go thru.   Thank you for your assistance in this case & others.

That being said, I cannot ignore the facts that have come out about this particular case.  There is a very good chance that this is not a strange/predator abduction & unfortunately there is just too many glaring inconsistencies from certain family members or associates of that give me more than great pause to trust their word.  Each case is different despite even if it appears to have similarities to others.

Regardless of any differences of opinion, the main focus is Hailey & will continue to be.

I've been very quiet but continue to read daily. I just can't find it in my heart, or in the limited facts available that surround the disappearances of our most vulnerable citizens, to critisize and judge local LE, missing persons organizations, such as Klaas Kids, or these children's parents and extended families. It's always easy for some to pick apart those that put themselves out there and to kick them while they are down, in person and in cyberspace. And for some it may be too difficult to keep an open mind and compassionate heart towards the missing and their families, but if I  remember orrectly this site exists because there are children missing...it is.not about being right or stroking egos.

A missing loved one, a death, the grieving process is never a competitive sport and there are no comparisons. It is a deep pain that never leaves, but that one learns to cope with on a daily basis.

Ambersmom...I am soo, soo sorry for what you have been put through, what it did to your family and most of all for the loss of your daughter. Hugs

The computer was taken from the home of Shawn Adkins’ mother in the 2800 block of Apache Street in Big Spring. Adkins, the former boyfriend of Hailey’s mother Billie Jean Dunn, is the only named suspect in the case.

A memory stick confiscated from a dresser in the master bedroom of the Dunn residence in Colorado City contained “320 images and videos of a pornographic nature.” The search warrants for digital media were issued Jan. 7 by 32nd District Judge Greg Harrison’s office.

Neither am I....not one bit.   Its also interesting that it was put on a memory stick to begin with.   i might add, that is an enormous amount of pictures & the next question I have is if any of them were of minor children.

PS   Shawn is not the "former" boyfriend of Hailey's mother, he IS still the live-in boyfriend of Hailey's mother...confirmed by family members

Tracygirl, I don't think anyone has ever questioned Carrie's intentions.  I do think that people were concerned that some might try to take advantage of her huge heart.  I worry about that, but she's obviously a very intelligent and strong woman and can handle not only herself, but likely has had first-hand experience already of the type of people who might want to exploit and use.  That's something I forgot in my worries, and will make a point not to forget again thanks to her very heart-felt and kind wake-up call.

I have a technical question: If you don't have a computer, for what would you use that memory stick?  Or did the Dunns actually have a computer?  As for deviant acts, it's not a secret as SA and his associates have deviant pictures up on their myspace pages, usually associated with this band or that.

He had a computer, that is what they confiscated.   He also put a collection on a memory stick...that he could have used on any other computer by inserting into a USB port
