"Casa Kimberley" Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, must be an interesting place to visit.  Richard and Elizabeth's home from the 1960's
to 1990 to when Elizabeth sold it. I love the Pink Bridge connecting their two houses. What a dream house.

Casa Kimberley is reportedly destroyed for Condo's.  A few comments on the Trip Advisor by tourists.

What an absolutely beautiful Villa - spanning across both sides of the road, if you stand quietly, you can hear Elizabeth calling to Richard from one side to the other! The whole place vibrates with their energy and passion and you should not even think about NOT going to Casa Kimberley if you are in Puerto Vallarta - IT IS...

Elizabeth's Homes
from 1932-2011

Who knew she and Larry designed one of her garden's.

Twenty-one photos (slide show) of E.T. home.

I believe her home was featured in July's issue (uncomfirmed).  I like the peaceful look to the house, it isn't my taste.

The outside grounds are interesting: a real wooden table and chairs, for the outdoors, very classy, no plastic Smile

Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry fetches record $115 million at auction
December 14, 2011

Elizabeth Taylor may be gone, but her jewelry is still turning heads. The actress's personal collection of jewels went up for auction Tuesday night -- and fetched a record $115 million.

A pearl, diamond and ruby necklace known as La Peregrina, a gift to Taylor from Richard Burton in 1969, sold for a record $11.8 million. Christie's, which conducted the auction, had estimated the necklace would sell for $2 million or $3 million. Burton paid $37,000 for it.

A 33.19-carat diamond ring, which was projected to go for $2.5 million to $3.5 million, sold for $8.8 million.

The top lot, the legendary La Peregrina, a 16th-century natural pearl suspended from a diamond, ruby, and cultured pearl necklace by Cartier, sold for $11,842,500 (including the buyer’s premium), setting a world auction record for a pearl jewel. Purchased by Richard Burton in 1969 for $37,000, the historic piece carried a high estimate of $3 million.

Tied for second place were the Elizabeth Taylor Diamond, a 33.19 ct. D color potentially flawless stone formerly known as the Krupp Diamond, and the Taj Mahal Diamond, a gift from Richard Burton set in a heart-shaped pendant on a ruby and diamond chain by Cartier. Each realized $8.8 million, against high estimates of $3.5 million and $500,000, respectively.

I enjoyed reading this article, and I'm going to share just a snippet of it.

Burton purchased La Peregrina in 1969 for $37,000 at Parke- Bernet Galleries in New York, which later became part of Sotheby’s, said Ward Landrigan, who headed the company’s jewelry department at the time.

“Richard Burton bought it as a Valentine’s Day present for her,” said Landrigan, now chief executive officer of New York- based jeweler Verdura, who delivered the pearl to a Las Vegas hotel where the couple stayed.

That night, Taylor misplaced the pearl and everyone began looking for it in the pink shaggy carpet, Landrigan said in an interview.

“She had this white Lhasa Apso dog,” he said. “I saw the dog under a chaise. It was chewing on the pearl.”
