Sunday, 7:40 p.m. Update:
The Texas Forest Service says there are two fires in Mitchell County. The one threatening Colorado City has burned 2,500 acres. The other one, labeled below by the Forest Service as the "821" Fire, burned 2,500 acres on the edge of Mitchell and Howard Counties.
Colorado City Hospital is currently preparing to evacuate residents as needed.

The fire threatening the town is not contained.

Pete Kampfer, City Manager of Colorado City, is starting to order evacuations starting with the northern part of town.

Does anyone remember if the north part of the city was one of the search sites???

I read on FB that the Days Inn in Colorado City has burned to the ground,
as well as the John Deere tractor company.  There was a 7 car wreck due
to smoke on Interstate 20 that killed a 7 year old boy.  Fires are rampant.

I read that too and that the fire has reached the landfill....

ABILENE, TX — Lewis Kearney, spokesman for the Merkel-based Lone Star Incident Management Team, said forces arrived shortly before 8 p.m. in Colorado City to plan on how to best address an escalating dangerous fire situation that has resulted in the closing of I-20 and the evacuation of a nursing home and hospital.

Kearney said a staging area -- for planning to be done -- has been set up at Colorado City's Dairy Queen.

PS you are right, it is directly off 17th St north and south and prior to getting to Hickory Street intersection.  The Mitchell County Hospital is on 16th St which runs between Chestnut and Hickory.

PS you are right, it is directly off 17th St north and south and prior to getting to Hickory Street intersection.  The Mitchell County Hospital is on 16th St which runs between Chestnut and Hickory.

1804 Chestnut is one block above 17th South at the intersection of 18th St, 2 blocks south of the hospital.

It's the landfill that was searched awhile back. This is directly between C-City and SA's grandmother's residence, close to FM 208..

In Big Spring, one fire was to the north right off of 350 (From Big Spring to Snyder) on Hill top Rd and Jonesboro Rd.

One was on 821. As you go west from Colorado City to Big Spring, you can get on 821 south right after Rattlesnake Gap and go south then West around Big Spring to Forsan.

Ok, Know that I speak only for myself and that this is just my opinion and should involve no one but myself. I believe that Shawn raped and killed Hailey in the middle of the night and then told Billie what had happened, that's when they co...ncocted their story. I think he dismembered her the next morning in the 2 hours he had in ccity and then took her to a hidden location to dispose of her. I don't think we'll find her. I am writing this, barely able to see through my tears as I hate the thoughts I have about what has happened to this precious neice of mine. Fred I'm so sorry! I personally think that for pedophiles, child pornographers, beast lovers and the like, that prison is too good for them. I believe that they should all be placed into a room together in groups of 20 and given a single dull knife and then told when there is only one, we'll feed you. Do that each day till they're all gone. Then maybe the next "Hailey" will get to have her life and love and children of her own.
