Emotional Casey Hearing Wraps Up With No Decision

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An emotional hearing on several motions in the case against Casey Anthony wrapped up Wednesday evening, and there were no decisions made.

Casey walked into the courtroom at 9:05am, wearing a red sweater and dark slacks. She was accompanied by her lawyers. Casey's parents were both on hand to testify in the hearing.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's mother, father and the lead detective in the murder case took the stand Wednesday on the first day of a scheduled two-day hearing.

The two sides in the case are arguing nine motions in the case.

On Wednesday, the testimony related to Anthony's statements that she made to law enforcement on the day of her first arrest. Defense attorneys want the statements thrown out.

Anthony broke into tears as her mother took the oath.

just posted this over in JSM thread...I have to go catch up on the last Caylee thread to see what all you had to say...

what an exciting day..Tupelo was there along with some other bloggers...Tupelo will be logging on later..she is actually going to go back to court tomorrow..
first of all, Casey is really really tiny in stature..Cindy and George were both nicely dressed and were very quiet while in the court room seats by us..right across from us..The courtroom where the spectators sit is very small..only about 3 small rows...on each side. We had excellent seats..could see Casey, could see the Anthony's right across..rode the elevator down at lunch with Jose Baez.. Cindy is not over weight...the cameras really do add extra pounds..in fact for her age, I would say that she could be considered a very attractive woman. Lee was there...he can't help how he looks...you can't shine a turd..
The judge is a no nonsense guy.. he does crack some jokes here and there...but he has total control over his court room...
it was slow moving...every little thing had to be said and resaid a different way so that each side was happy..
Casey wrote stuff the whole time! she hardly stopped writing..I told the lady next to me that it was more like she was doing a final exam or something..She was kindof in another world..doing her homework..oblivious to what was going on around her..not sure how much she could listen to when she was so busy writing..
no flirting with Baez or anyone else that I saw..she hardly looked up..
Saw a lot of familiar faces that Tupelo knows the names...
I am glad that I went...it was an experience to be there..

Hi Monks--Well, this guy is wearing the uniform of the starship "Enterprise." so I assume he's from the planet Vulcan.

I don't know what to think about today's court goings-on.  I think Det. Melich was playing with Baez like a cat plays with a mouse.  The most interesting thing about today I thought was the information that Casey was put in handcuffs at Cindy's request.  That might have been public knowledge before, but this member of the public didn't know it.

awesome you got to attend. Lots of fireworks lol and you were there. So did you get to be up close to anyone and did you get to ride in the elevator with any of the good guys! wow I am so amazed at how much weight cindy has put on. She must be under alot of stress and is using food for comfort.
She appeared more mellowed out than george, he seemed hostile and so like the time he was being deposed by morgan. It is going to go against casey/ these attitudes will not fly with the jury.

I think the jury will be able to figure out the anthonys and bozo right away. Casey is her usual self which is good for the state.  They do not realize they are helping her get the needle in her arm.or LWOP.

Marinated Dave or whoever he is sat right next to us...seemed like a nice guy..I don't think that he wanted to get judge Strickland into trouble at all..he might have been tricked into his wording or something.he was explaining what happened and then we had to be quiet..
We talked to a few of the news persons...all really nice and friendly...they didn't say anything to me one way or the other about the grand parents...some feel that they are suffering and are in total denial..
Cindy and George both looked like they had not slept and had really puffy eyes from the beginning of the day...

Loca...Cindy is not over weight..the camera really does add poundage to a person..she might be a size 8-10, just my guess...and perhaps the sweater or outfit she had on today added weight through the cameras..but in person, everyone is a lot slimmer...Bozo is not as chubby as he looks on camera either...

I think that the prosecution did a great job..
I think that the young police officer who couldn't remember anything was a terrible witness..he should have reviewed his notes before going on the stand..in his defense, he was young and nervous and it has been 2 years ....

Cindy was pretty upset a few times...George did nothing to comfort her..
she did have her chubby friend with her...I think it was the same lady who greeted Cindy and George when they got off the cruise that time...
