I believe that this situation is something that happens to people of high moral and ethical standards.  Paulus Van Der Sloot is a target.  Other people of lower standards want to discredit him.  That must mean that Paulus Van Der Sloot's inner strength is a threat to them.

I am a bit sad that Medley says that Anita and Paulus do not read here.  How often does it happen that there is anyone who has been so publicly attacked as Joran and Paulus?  Where do those kinds of people find support in members of the public?  Their friends and family are their close comfort.  Finding object people who support their cause is not an easy task.  Not reading here would be missing something rare

Hey OT. but my Gram went to thr dr today.. he gave her vitamins for the brain.. helos with Dementia and Alzheimers..  you were correct in the email you sent me.    Hope it helps her .  She didnt even get mad at my mother at the appt for telling the dr about her behavior lately.  Othe rthen she said to the Dr. WELL I AM going to be 80 yrs old. I guess I would forget stuff.   I didnt get tinme to post in the lounge. and I TY for your kindness and others as well.

To play the devil's advocate, let me propose a scenario based upon the rumor's floating around. Why do the Arubans have the right to question the students on the trip or know what might have been going on with Natalee?

This is a totally hypothetical scenario but the police would have to look at everything.

Hypothetically:

The ex-boyfriend got Natalee pregnant. He does not want to become a father and they both want to go to college. Possibly both families are religious and would not allow an abortion. Also they are humiliated that they made such a mistake. The plan is the boyfriend books another flight and plans to stay in Aruba for a few days after the trip so that they can go to get the abortion. Natalee was supposed to not show up for the flight the next day and go to get the abortion. After it was all over, they both were supposed to tell everyone that she stayed over to be with him and they go home. But she changes her mind and cannot do it. He gets mad. She runs away because he won't accept the baby. She is somewhere in a state of despair and refuses to be found because she cannot bear this humiliation.

Well, not that I think this happened but I could have. Why can't the Arubans ask questions? We are asking questions. That does not mean they are trying to ruin her reputation. A missing person is totally changing Aruba. The inspector's contract is not being renewed. He may have even decided to quit or retire or something feeling he cannot be effective any more. The election is coming and each political party is using this as a campaign issue. Dan, you are being an arrogant American. You have to respect both sides not just the American one.
