Hi Monkeys

I was searching, lurking and grasping for straws tonight and stumbled upon some very weird coincidences that I'd like to share with you.

Wyks had posted 2 lists of residents from the mobile home park.  On list 2 the name Conrad Sinclair was there so I googled that name.  I found a Facebook account and I don't really know much about facebook but all I could see there were his friends accounts.  I clicked on each one to see if there were any connections to any of the names we know of in this case.  Kenny Nelson is one of his friends so I clicked on that one and it came up with Sheffield in parenthesis beside of his name.  I thought that odd because of the Haleigh Cummings case.  I didn't see anymore info so I went to my space and searched for Kenny Nelson.  I was scrolling thru those and found an account called "Only God Can Judge Me".  This again reminded me of the Cummings case and also the only this it shows is he is in Valdosta, Ga (another coincidence?) but it says his hometown is California.  I couldn't believe I just stumbled upon so many coincidences all at once.  Thought You all might want to check out.

That one with the stripe thingy was a custom paint job - if that's what you meant, Klaas.  I'm agreeing with all of you that it's a Dodge because of the black thing between the driver door and the extra cab - I haven't seen it on a Chevy.

So, was it a beige truck that was seen?  Was he certain it was a Silverado?  I'll have to look at something again to refresh my memory.

For you Flossy...

Thanks, Leslee.  You know what, though?  Silverados don't even come in beige.  It had to be either Silver (Silver Birch, like my husband's - very light silver) or maybe Pewter, like my Tahoe, which is more of a cross between silver and gold.  Those are the only colors besides white that are even close.

I'd like to hear exactly what color Memory used.  The reporter was who said beige, so if Memory said that, it could be any one of the three, if you ask me.

I do agree that the truck in the video is a Dodge Ram, though - good point about where the gas cap is.

Well unless we know for sure it's the Conrad Sinclair in Orchard Estates I doubt if the rest of the coincidences mean anything.  I'm not as good with Facebook as I am with Myspace so I can't tell.

Interresting though, thanks!

Just going to be honest, hopefully this post will not cause anyone to be upset with me.

Does anyone else feel like the dynamics of this case has changed? This time last night I had thought the person who took and killed Sandra was an absolute monster, a drug head, a real tough mama type, such as the people who tortured Kyle. But today I saw a woman who was not a monster, but rather someone who was sort of frail. She just doesn't seem mentally stable to me. There has even been moments today I have questioned whether or not the police have the right person. It is not because she cried, it is beyond that. It was a look she had and the way she moved. Something is not right with her.

What if all along this family knew MH had a mental health problem, a serious one, but choose to do what so many parents do, ignore it. Happens all of the time, trust me I know.

Seeing her today made me feel concern for her rather then anger towards her. I have a feeling when all is said and done this is going to be a very sad case all around.

I want to include however, Sandra is the victim and my heart breaks that her life ended as it did. She was a beautiful little girl who deserved to grow up, get married, be a mommy and die because of old age. She was full of life and that life was taken from her. MH, if she killed Sandra needs to pay for that crime.

Tracygirl - it's either just as you say a very horrible and tragic sequence of events OR, someone else is involved.  I still tend to think someone else is involved even though Sheneman keeps saying no.  Sheneman also said there was NO REASON to think Sandra's body was in the luggage.

Yes.  This is why I feel that 'someone else' has thrust Melissa 'out there' to be the fall guy, so to speak.

I've emailed the Sgt with my concerns.

Just wanted to add the link to another interview by the young man who saw the tan truck in which he gives a bit more info: http://www.necn.com/Boston/Nation/2009/04/11/CA-Teen-says-he-saw-man/1239445378.html

Hope you won't mind if I jump back in again to share my work experience with drug issues and people's weight.  No one drug profile fits any single patient; there are always exceptions.  However, in my experience (13 yrs in-pt Psychiatric RN, 10 yrs Emergency Rm RN prior to that) I've dealt with LOTS of drug addicts, in all stages of their addictions.

Most hard-core drug users (including crystal meth) are thin or regular weight.  Seldom see one overweight.  Being addicted, they live for their drug.  They'd rather do drugs than eat.   There is a notable exception though.  Cocaine users have voracious appetites.  Will eat anything they can find.  Gets so bad we have to set limits.  Otherwise, we'd run out of food on the unit.

On the other hand, anti-depressants and the newer anti-psychotics can definitely cause weight gain.  Again, each person is different, as well as the effect of each med, but it's one of the major causes for med non-compliance, especially among our female patients.  Biologically, some of these meds are believed to cause a change in carbohydrate metabolism, which alters how the body uses and/or stores it.  It's not unusual to see (returning) patients having gained large amount of weight in a relatively short period of time.  Not rare at all.

People have raised questions about statements made in the court room about Melissa having a medical evaluation.  This is standard and required with all of our patients.  Every one of them is required to have a medical evaluation within 24 hours of admission.

There are many medical illnesses that cause and/or contribute to mental/emotional illness.  Sometimes, a medical condition is discovered that really HAS caused the illness.  (Brain tumor, closed head injury, and other neurological diseases.)  Just to name a few.

So I would expect that Melissa is under heavy-duty medical care right now, especially since she just got out of ICU for internal bleeding.

As for other psych diagnoses that she may or may not have, it's true we don't have enough information about her.  We're all speculating.  But someone who could kill a child is not your everyday Sunday School teacher!

Would someone who knew her all along be able to tell?  Have red flags?  Maybe or maybe not.  If she were bipolar, I doubt if she could have hidden the mood swings (and crashes) for very long, if at all, because bipolar is a brain chemical disorder.  Depression alone can be masked if the person really works at it.  But my depressed patients do NOT tell me they want to kill a child.

A sociopath can dupe others around them.  Heck, sociopaths make a career of fooling people.  They can be charming and  so smooth.  Say the right things.  Fake all the emotions.  Is Melissa a sociopath?  We don't know.

As I said, I'm speculating like everyone else.  No diagnosing intended.  (So please don't read more into this than that.)  No matter what her ultimate "diagnosis" is, I don't believe she acted alone either.  I think the child-porn ring is going to end up figuring heavily into this outcome.  The only good thing that may come out of all of this might be some other children being saved from molestation, abuse, and death...

Thanks again to all who are providing those valuable links and news stories.
