I did waver somewhat regarding Shawn's involvement with child porn in the period in time that the computer at his mother's home was the only known electronic device that contained those images.  After all there were other persons who resided in that household.  However ... the recent revelations that exposed all the electronics that contained child porn ... electronics that had a connection to Shawn ... implied that I could no longer afford him the benefit of the doubt.  The volume of images causes me to suspect that the implication is that Shawn and possibly others are involved in the distribution of child porn.

However ... in regards to the disappearance of Hailey ... I have never wavered from my position.  I have suspected Shawn from almost the getgo.

The words of Hailey's grandma and auntie regarding her granddaughter's fear of Shawn as well as the words within the affidavits ... words that revealed Shawn's lies and  deception regarding his actions and whereabouts on the morning of December 27th ... affirms my suspicions.

I could be wrong but ... until the truth is revealed ... speculations is where it is at.

The other question that I have is the car that Shawn and Billie shared. Is it true that Shawn's truck was not running at the time Hailey disappeared? Have the truck and Billie's car been searched thoroughly by LE? If so, was anything found? Also, I am assuming that based on the low income levels in Colorado City that many of the residents are unemployed. How could Shawn get Hailey out of the house and into a vehicle without being noticed? Again, I am only playing devils advocate.

I do not think that would be difficult if the vehicle was parked next to the home.  Prior to 7:00 AM ... I assume not many neigbours were observing the comings and goings at Billie's residence.

Considering the following ... I do not believe that Hailey Dunn walked out of that home.

Off to the airport with hubby and his sisters to pick up relatives arriving from Japan for a family wedding.  Although these relatives live in a southern prefecture and were not directly affected by the devastating earthquake and tsnami ... I am sure they will have lots to reveal.

I am anticipating that there will be at least one arrest in the Hailey Dunn case while I am off the forum today.  After all ... investigators have had three months to put together a case..

When I consider the Haleigh Cummings case ... I am so afraid that the Hailey Dunn case going to go cold and ... justice is not going to happen.

Thanks so much for the document. I know at one time labs were severely backlogged in Texas, so the fact that no news has been released is not surprising. Here is where I am right now. I believe AT THIS MOMENT, that the kiddie porn was probably girls who looked as if they could be underage. If there was proof that they were, it seems that Shawn would be sitting in the pokey. Again, I am not any sort of expert on these matters, just my gut feeling at the moment. If Shawn had kiddie porn of little kids, it seems he would have scrambled to at least get rid of the drive in Billie's dresser drawer. I find it very hard to believe that anyone would be stupid enough to leave it there. So, what do we have left? Shawn claims he went straight to Grandma's after leaving work. Playing devil's advocate, he could have gone back to Billie's to pick something up. Maybe he did not bother to check on the kids and got what he needed and left. Who knows, maybe he was picking up drugs. Either way he could have lied because he did not want to place himself in the home when he knew he was innocent or he did not want to give out his drug sources for being in Colorado City when he said he was not. With regards to him lying about being fired, well, again, playing devil's advocate, there could be an explanation for that as well. Maybe Shawn did not like his job. Maybe he is just a lazy loaf who prefers not to work. Rather than say he quit his job, he lied and said he got fired. What else does that leave us with? He likes slasher movies, weird song lyrics and masks. Who the heck knows why he is into that stuff. I know lots of people who like those creepy movies and cannot wait until the next one comes out. I have never seen one and do not care to ever see one. They are not for me. I do however love true crime and murder mysteries. If someone were to raid my home, they would find tons of books, but the majority are the forementioned. I guess I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that Shawn would be clever enough to kill Hailey, remove her body without being seen, dump her body without being seen, dump her body where it has not been discovered and apparently (so far) left no forensic evidence anywhere. Yet he was stupid enough to leave that drive in Billie's drawer. I completely understand why you think Shawn did it. I guess I am just not completely convinced yet at the exclusion of all of the other possible suspects in that tiny town with the high crime rate.

We had a wonderful day.  Following dinner at a local Chinese Restaurant in the Fraser Valley ... cousins from Japan returned to Vancouver with Hubby's sisters.  Jet lag implied they were ready to call it a night.  Hey ... I am ready to call it a night.  I am wiped.  Maybe I will read a little.

It was so quiet on the forum this afternoon.  I am disappointed that there are no updates in the Hailey Dunn case.  What is going on within that investigation?  Three months and ... still no arrests!

Bah!  I get on and everyone's already off to bed.  No news today, and it really bothers me.  As I was falling asleep last night, I was just overcome and just begging God desperately that Hailey be found.  The more time passes, the less hope there is for (at this point - and forgive me for saying it) finding evidence, finding cause of death, finding DNA. 

Bleak much?  Yes, in fact, I do lately.  I just want the right people in jail - yesterday-thirty, and Hailey found.

Sebastian, my thoughts on the thing found in the dresser drawer. Have you ever hid something and forgot about it or not remembered where you put it? I have many times. I'm still looking for an envelope that had a power of attorney paper in it that I hid several years ago.
Also maybe they didn't think LE would be going through drawers in their bedroom like they did.

Sad to say, I forget where I put things all of the time,  . The only thing I hide are snacks from hubby and daughter, lol. I am no way trying to minimalize child porn. I think it is the most disgusting thing in the world. I also think beastiality is disgusting, as I am also a huge animal lover. It just doesn't make sense, that if Shawn had porn, the kind of porn that was obvious child porn, that he would not have torn the house apart to find it prior to LE coming in. It was stated early on that Billie was a huge true crime lover. Remember, she downloaded all sorts of true crime stories to read? Well, if she knew that there was kiddie porn on that drive, you would think that she herself would have torn the house apart looking for it prior to LE coming in. Again, I could be wrong. They could just be extremely stupid, but it just nags at me.

Early on Marc Klaas made some derogatory statements with regards to the local police. It was Billie herself who called in the state troopers. I would just hate to see the local LE focus on Shawn and Shawn only because he appears to be such a creep. I would hate it if Hailey is alive somewhere and no one is looking because Shawn is such an idiot and lied all over himself and seems to be incapable of keeping his stories straight. I would like to add that people who do drugs can be habitual liars. They lie even when there is no reason to lie.

I don't know what to think. I just don't want to see this case ever go cold.

I went in and re-read all of the affidavits. They are on this forum. In one of the affidavits, Shawn was said to say that Hailey was a good girl early on in the investigation. As the investigation went on, Shawn made some derogatory statements regarding Hailey. I don't want to put them here as she is a minor, but I am really bothered by these comments made by Shawn. I cannot figure out if he is your typical phsycho who blames the victim or if any of these accusations were true. If these accusations are true, than her friends need to be looked at a lot more closely. JMO

Sebastian- in future, please tell us which affidavit, because there are a number of them. Some affidavits are posted in the document thread in Hailey's forum,  http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=9331.0 and if it's one of those, then you could also provide a link.  It's really helpful.  Thanks.  MB
