I'm really surprised that nothing more has been said about the recovered body.  There can't be that many small framed males missing in that area.

The problem might be the small framed male may not be from the area he was found.  For example, I recall the cases of Camden Hughes whose body was found in Maine (never reported missing though), and he was from Texas.

Camden Hughes 6 yo, found on remote Maine Rd. (Mom chgd w/murder)

And Gerren Isgrigg aged 6, a with special needs was never reported missing but his little body was found dumped at at roadside park in Wylie, Texas.  http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=7609.0

Remember "Baby Grace",  (Riley Ann Sawyers) the two-year old whose remains were found in a box in Galveston Bay, TX and her grandmother from Ohio recognized her picture in a flyer?  She was never reported missing.  http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=2297.0

It's sad.

UPDATE: New details emerge on remains found in Big Spring, Texas

Fort Worth, Texas- New information has been obtained by Examiner.com regarding the identification of a partially-mummified body in Big Spring, Texas last week.

Linda Anderson, Public Information Officer for the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office, says positive identification may not come for some time, if ever due to the condition of the remains. She noted that DNA testing will be the only means by which an I.D. can be determined.

Anderson further stated that the age of the body is not know, but appears to be that of a fully-clothed elderly man.

She went on to say that there were no other items found with the remains.

Now I am thinking, possibly Latino?  Very often they are of shorter stature than Anglo's.  Maybe an undocumented who got disoriented and wondered off or met with foul play.

An elderly man would appear small if he had been frail before his death.  But why would someone bury him like that instead of in a grave.  Aren't there programs out there for burying those who can't afford the cost?  Our county has a fund and a special 'orphans' cemetery.

There are programs for burying indigents, but I am thinking that if he didn't have his papers, his relatives would have been afraid to go to authorities to do the paperwork to will out a death certificate, which asks for a social security card or other forms of indentificatioin

Good question.  They must still be waiting for the prosecutors to make a decision.

Grand Jury To Decide On Arrests Of Shawn Adkins Or Billie Dunn
By Jacqueline Hince, KTXS News
POSTED: 4:12 pm CST February 26, 2011

Quote

Saturday, Colorado City City Manager Pete Kampfer said no arrests have been made, but that prosecutors are gathering their evidence and plan to eventually take it to a grand jury, "Pending their deliberations and what the prosecutors present and their timing, we'll probably effect an arrest or however that will go at that time. But that's contingent on a grand jury and what prosecutors carry to them." Kampfer did not have a time frame for when prosecutors might present their case to a grand jury.

By: Marlisa Goldsmith
Updated: April 2, 2012

Authorities in south Texas recently responded to reported sightings of missing teenager Hailey Dunn.

Anonymous tips were made suggesting Dunn could be in West Columbia, Texas.

There were two separate tips made, one reporting sighting at a high school party in West Columbia, and the second was at Columbia Christian School.

Upon investigation, the chief of the West Columbia Police Department confirmed neither tips were valid.

A psychic who has appeared on television programs and an investigator with decades of experience will join the search for missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn.

Unearthed human remains autopsy

There was justice but no closure for the family of Roger Scott Dunn, a 24-year-old who went missing in Lubbock in 1991. Dunn's live-in girlfriend Leisha Hamilton was convicted of his murder even though a body was never found. She's serving a 20-year sentence.
Now speculation is rising that bones unearthed near the apartment they shared are Dunn's. Dunn's grave lies hollow as his family still searches for his remains.

I have seen this case featured on a couple of Investigation Discovery shows.  He had a Camaro that his father said he would never leave and that is why the dad kept putting pressure on the police.  Interesting story.  Glad his dad can put final closure on what happened to his son.
