After leaving work shortly after 6:00 AM on the morning of December 27, 2010 ... it was revealed by cell phone pings that Shawn was in the Dunn area.  Could it be that Lake JB Thomas was Shawn's destination ... not his grandmother's home?

I read somewhere that Grandma was home asleep shortly after 6:00 AM on the morning of December 27, 2013.  She never heard a knock on the door.

IF the remains located in Ira turn out to be Hailey ... it make sense that Grandma's home was not Shawn's destination after leaving work.

SCURRY COUNTY - There are growing speculation over human remains that were found in Scurry County over the weekend. Every time a body pops up, alot of people question if its Hailey Dunn. NewsWest 9 spoke with Hailey's mother about the discovery.

"What does get frustrating to me is, people who just say that they have inside knowledge when information they're putting out is completely wrong. It's aggravating when people just blatantly lie saying, they have inside knowledge or they have contacts. I know the FBI isn't talking to anybody outside of law enforcement besides me," Hailey's mother, Billie Dunn, said.

According to Dunn, a DNA test will not be done on the remains. Instead she said authorities will be comparing dental records for a faster result.

"They'll go ahead and let me know whether the dental records, hopefully, rule her out or God forbid, a match," Dunn said.

The Texas Rangers, the FBI and Scurry County Sheriff's office are investigating the case. A 32nd Judicial District Attorney's Criminal Investigation team were also on scene. They cover Mitchell County, which is the same county were Hailey went missing. Dunn says every time a body is found in these parts, she worries that it could possibly be her daughter.

"That pain is always there and every time a body is found, of course, I'm scared to death that it's her all the time. I'm looking for answers and closure but then, again when a body is found, I'm praying it's not her," Dunn said.

There is some very sad news for a family today. A body has been found in Scurry county. It is normal for LE to tell media the do not have details until id has been made. I had the PI check this out an recieved a call back. He did have a few details and I will say, this is NOT Hailey or Mark. Our hearts go out and prayers go up for this peson and their family.

Imma's Place i understand with conflicting media reports that this gets confusing. I did not make the statement lightly. We have been thru this before when bodies or remains have been found. Media talked to DPS the PI spoke to LE that is more directly involved in the case. I asked some questions and Iam confident in what the PI waastold. If someone chooses not to believe that is up to them.

Imma's Place He is not saying who it is. But LAW ENFORCEMENT gave him enough information that we know it can not be Hailey or Mark. IF (big if) that is wrong it was not the PI but LAW ENFORCEMENT who gave the wrong info. People whom have followed this page know we would not be so careless. They also know we do not allow arguing and fighting. There are other pages for that. TIA

Imma's Place i was asked earlier today by 2 different groups of people to look and see what I could find out. I spoke with media before it ever came out. I chose not to put the info out on the page till after I had spoken with a member of the family and told her everything and why I believed the PI. She agreed and was going to talk to the family.

Today I choose Hope. I want to clear up any misunderstanding about the post from yesterday. We learned last year not to jump quickly on these things. The reason for the confustion is different LE agencies have said different things. Could one agency have mis spoken? Sure. We were relating here what one of the agencies have said to us. We would like to invite you all here at 4pm for prayers going out for this victim and their family.

Melissa Gooch And to clearup another misunderstanding... We were told 3 things about the remains and that is what leads us to our beliefs. At no time did we put on our page or any public page what we were told nor will we. Including gender or anything eles.

it is looking more and more like the first reports we got are wrong. We based this on info from LE and perhaps they were giving info to quickly. It is now being reported that they have skeletal remains that have been scattered. We pray for all the families who have missin loved ones thru this awful time of not knowing. Iam in tears and know this can't even begin to compair with their pain. We will be back at 4pm for some time spent in prayer.

  After four days, authorities have wrapped up their efforts to exhume human remains found near Lake JB Thomas in Scurry county southwest of Snyder.

  There is still no positive identification made on the human remains.



  On Tuesday evening, Department of Public Safety Trooper Sparky Dean said Texas Rangers, and other agencies have cleared the scene and packed away road blocks.

  Also on Tuesday, KTXS news obtained an exclusive look at the crime scene where the body was discovered Saturday afternoon. KTXS news was the only station to get aerial video. News crews on the ground are being kept too far away to see what authorities are doing.

  While flying over the area, our news team observed FBI agents, Texas Rangers, and Colorado City police combing the area. More than a dozen vehicles can be seen driving through dirt roads.

SCURRY COUNTY (KCBD) -
Speculation continues to grow about the identity of the body found near Snyder Saturday afternoon, but so far investigators have not been able to release a gender or age.

KWES in Midland reported that Billie Dunn, the mother of missing teen Hailey Dunn, told them that investigators will be using dental records to speed up the identification process.

The body found on Saturday was discovered near Lake JB Thomas just 30 miles from Colorado City where 13-year-old Hailey Dunn went missing back in December of 2010. Tuesday, Billie confirmed over the phone that she is in Snyder due to the investigation, but declined an interview.

A family friend released this statement on behalf of the Dunn family:

"We are praying it is not Hailey and we are praying for whomever it is and their loved ones. The FBI and Texas Rangers are in close contact with us but at this time they've given us very little information. The entire family is desperately trying to hold on to hope that Hailey will be found alive."

The location where the remains were discovered was so remote.  Could it be that fatcatlurker is correct in regards to the catalyst being a tip ... a tip from someone who has been in the know since the getgo or may have recently learned of the location from someone who grew a conscience?

Shawn Adkins claims in the Affidavit that he went straight to his mother's home in Big Springs following his departure from work around 6:10 am.  Cell phone records imply otherwise.  Think about it Dunn may be where Shawn's grandmother resides but it is also not far from where the remains were found.

When the revealed lies encompassing the morning of December 27, 2010 when Hailey Dunn went missing is considered ... why did Billie Dunn steadfastly proclaim the innocence of Shawn Adkins in the disappearance of her daughter?

Could it be that Hailey lost her life at the hands of an enraged mother?  Could it be that there has been a conspiracy of silence between Shawn and Billie since the getgo?  Could it be Shawn did not expose Billie and assisted in the coverup because Billie had stuff she could expose about his/their illegal lifestyles behind the scenes?

Morbid affidavits point to mom, step-dad of Hailey Dunn, missing Texas teen

Affidavits, obtained by KTXS through the Freedom of Information Act, reveal the following:

* During the course of a detailed investigation it was determined by investigators that the last known person to see Hailey was her step-father, Shawn Adkins
 
* Investigators found inconsistencies in the story Adkins told them of where he was the day Hailey went missing

* When asked who investigators should look at in the missing teen's case, Adkins said himself and her mother, Billie Dunn
 
* Adkins and Billie Dunn both failed polygraph tests

* When asked by investigators to look at his cell phone, Adkins gave it to them but then took it back during their interview; when asked by investigators if they could look at the phone again to confirm what Adkins had just told them, Adkins deleted the exact information investigators requested to see

* In February 2010 Colorado City Police responded to a domestic dispute call at the home of Billie Dunn and Adkins; Adkins first denied he threatened to kill Hailey, then finally admitted he had threatened to kill both Billie and Hailey Dunn
 
* Nothing was noted missing in Hailey's room after she disappeared, including some of her favorite belongings such as her new IPod, cash, and her favorite clothing items; also left in the house were her toothbrush, hairbrush, contact solution, a new MP3 Player, and a jacket friends say she'd never leave home without
 
* It was uncharacteristic of Hailey to leave home without letting her mother know where she was; it was very cold outside, and Hailey was allegedly last seen leaving without a jacket
Hailey had lived in Colorado City most of her life, so it is most unlikely she would have gotten lost on her way to a friend's house a few blocks away

* No witnesses saw Hailey walking on the date she is believed to have gone missing
Shawn Adkins, Hailey's step-father, claimed he had an altercation with his boss and was fired from his job; investigators later learned he was not fired from his job, and he had no altercation with his boss

* Adkins initially said Hailey was a good girl, then later changed his story and said she was promiscuous, sexually active, and participated in drugs
 
* In a statement from one of Hailey's uncles of a conversation he had with Adkins about Hailey's disappearance, the uncle said he couldn't believe that anyone would hurt a 13-year-old little girl, and the affidavit reports Adkins' response was, "Yah, it's like killing a deer." The uncle recalled Adkins often talked about how he kills deer, and then would cut them up with a chainsaw
 
* Billie Dunn and Adkins allegedly hosted a New Years Eve party, which they downplayed as just a few friends over to the house to have drinks on New Years Eve

* Investigators found a box with unusual and sorbid reading materials in Billie Dunn and Shawn Adkins' bedroom, Hailey's mother and step-father

* Authorities confiscated 278 pages of material printed from websites about several lurid topics, from mass murder to sex and death in the box

* Billie Dunn described the material as a "hobby" in affidavits made available to the public Wednesday
 
* Witnesses said Adkins was fascinated by horror/slasher films
 
* Adkins is a collector of movie memorabilia connected to the "Halloween" movie series
The reading material in the box were, according to Billie Dunn, documents she printed from a computer at her job which she brought home

FBI, Texas Rangers seek to identify body in Scurry County

LUBBOCK - Investigators have raised more questions than given answers about human remains found in Scurry County in the vicinity of the J.B. Thomas Reservoir.

Authorities will say the decomposed body was found Saturday, March 16, among the cacti, mesquite trees and brush of a Scurry County field. A person reported finding the remains in the area about 1:10 p.m. Saturday.

But they won’t say if the remains are those of a man or woman, or about what age.

Texas Rangers, Scurry County Sheriff’s deputies and agents from the FBI have joined forces on this case.

Authorities continue to scour the area for other evidence and clues as to who the person was and how the body ended up in the field south of Snyder, about 80 miles from Lubbock, said Sparky Dean, a senior trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The search in that area could last several days. It’s unclear if a crime occurred, but investigators are treating the area as a crime scene, he said.

“We want to do this right,” he said.

Investigators have little to work with other than the remains, which will be sent eventually to a crime lab for an autopsy, Dean said.

“Decomposition has occurred — there is no flesh on the bones from what I’ve been told,” he said.

Both Chaumont and a spokesperson for the Scurry County Sheriff’s Department referred all questions about the investigation to Dean.

Dean declined to pinpoint the location where the body was found, but said it was well off the beaten path and out of cellphone range.

Dean said investigators at the scene were “quick to point out (the body) doesn’t have anything to do with the lake.”

The reservoir is at 1 percent capacity but investigators do not believe remains were close enough for the low water level to reveal the body, he said.

Hailey Darlene Dunn is a female who disappeared from Colorado City, Texas on December 27th 2010. At the time she disappeared, Hailey was 13 years old, weighed 115 lbs and was 5' tall. I wonder what the lake boundaries were in December of 2010 since it's water levels have gone down drastically... I read water level was at 6% in 2010 but at 1% now. If these remains were found away from the lake last Saturday, could they have actually been in the lake Dec 2010 but appear away from it now due to the drought? I wonder when that huge fire was that swept through that area & if it encompassed Lake JB Thomas. I know authorities said the remains have nothing to do with the lake but it still makes me wonder, unless the remains were just laying out in the open? However if they were in the open, and if this guy photographs the area almost daily, then how did these remains go unnoticed until now? Surely there were buzzards or something? No?

We came across a man who lives near the lake and who goes out almost daily to the rocky point area to document the drying up of the lake. His pictures give us an idea of the area that the remains were found.

It is a rocky part of the lake. In fact, we were told by a source that it was a person who was rock hunting that came across the remains. Remains that consisted of a what we are told is a femur, a skull and a tooth..
