Initially Shawn Adkins claimed he went straight to his mother's home in Big Spring.  Then when cell phone records implied otherwise ... the story emerges that he drove to his Grandmother's home in Dunn but she wasn't home or was asleep.  It would be interesting to know how far the location where the remains were discovered is from Dunn.

I'm thinking the location of these remains is smack dab in the middle of Shawn's gmom's & mom's houses. Going off of memory so forgive me if I'm wrong, just trying to remember...

Shawn did not take Billie to work on the morning of December 27, 2010.  He took her vehicle  and Billie called a co-worker for a ride.

Is there a map that shows the route:

2. to Grandma's home in Dunn
3. to the location of the remains
4. to Big Bridge.

But Janet, was it ever proven that Shawn didnt take Billie to work? I'm trying to remember if this coworker was verified or not. I remember BJD said she called a coworker for a ride bc Shawn had her car, but I don't remember if that was verified. What I do remember is that BJD & SA both failed their polys with flying colors. Maybe that clouds my judgement but it so hard for me to believe everything either one says.

Morbid affidavits point to mom, step-dad of Hailey Dunn, missing Texas teen

* During the course of a detailed investigation it was determined by investigators that the last known person to see Hailey was her step-father, Shawn Adkins
 
* Investigators found inconsistencies in the story Adkins told them of where he was the day Hailey went missing

* When asked who investigators should look at in the missing teen's case, Adkins said himself and her mother, Billie Dunn
 
* Adkins and Billie Dunn both failed polygraph tests

* When asked by investigators to look at his cell phone, Adkins gave it to them but then took it back during their interview; when asked by investigators if they could look at the phone again to confirm what Adkins had just told them, Adkins deleted the exact information investigators requested to see

* In February 2010 Colorado City Police responded to a domestic dispute call at the home of Billie Dunn and Adkins; Adkins first denied he threatened to kill Hailey, then finally admitted he had threatened to kill both Billie and Hailey Dunn
 
* Nothing was noted missing in Hailey's room after she disappeared, including some of her favorite belongings such as her new IPod, cash, and her favorite clothing items; also left in the house were her toothbrush, hairbrush, contact solution, a new MP3 Player, and a jacket friends say she'd never leave home without
 
* It was uncharacteristic of Hailey to leave home without letting her mother know where she was; it was very cold outside, and Hailey was allegedly last seen leaving without a jacket
Hailey had lived in Colorado City most of her life, so it is most unlikely she would have gotten lost on her way to a friend's house a few blocks away

* No witnesses saw Hailey walking on the date she is believed to have gone missing
Shawn Adkins, Hailey's step-father, claimed he had an altercation with his boss and was fired from his job; investigators later learned he was not fired from his job, and he had no altercation with his boss

* Adkins initially said Hailey was a good girl, then later changed his story and said she was promiscuous, sexually active, and participated in drugs
 
* In a statement from one of Hailey's uncles of a conversation he had with Adkins about Hailey's disappearance, the uncle said he couldn't believe that anyone would hurt a 13-year-old little girl, and the affidavit reports Adkins' response was, "Yah, it's like killing a deer." The uncle recalled Adkins often talked about how he kills deer, and then would cut them up with a chainsaw
 
* Billie Dunn and Adkins allegedly hosted a New Years Eve party, which they downplayed as just a few friends over to the house to have drinks on New Years Eve

* Investigators found a box with unusual and sorbid reading materials in Billie Dunn and Shawn Adkins' bedroom, Hailey's mother and step-father

* Authorities confiscated 278 pages of material printed from websites about several lurid topics, from mass murder to sex and death in the box

* Billie Dunn described the material as a "hobby" in affidavits made available to the public Wednesday
 
* Witnesses said Adkins was fascinated by horror/slasher films
 
* Adkins is a collector of movie memorabilia connected to the "Halloween" movie series
The reading material in the box were, according to Billie Dunn, documents she printed from a computer at her job which she brought home

Could it be that Hailey lost her life throught the actions of EITHER her mother or her mother's boyfriend when she threatened to expose the dirty little secrets regarding the lifestyle that went on behind closed doors in that home ... a lifestyle that she was forced to participate?

I alway found it suspicious that Shawn's revealed lies to authorities regarding the happenings encompassing the morning of December 27, 2010 did not cause Billie to suspect her boyfriend in the disappearance of her little girl.  Rather than going up one side of Shawn and down the other ... she steadfastly defended him.

Documents Link More Pornography to Shawn Adkins

COLORADO CITY - Court documents obtained by NewsWest9 say that more pornography and possible child pornography has been found on another computer that Shawn Adkins had access to.

Adkins is the only named suspect in the disappearance of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn.

The search warrant affidavit was released Friday through a Freedom of Information Act request to a court in Scurry County by KTXS-TV in Abilene and then shared with NewsWest9.

KTXS reports the affidavit was used to secure a search warrant that was executed Thursday to locate more possible child pornography on devices used by Adkins.

The affidavit was submitted by a Garza County Sheriff's Office Investigator who is helping work on the case. The investigator states he found pornography and possible child pornography during a search of a computer Adkins had access to at his grandmother's house in Dunn, Texas, which just north of Colorado City.

The affidavit confirms earlier reports that child pornography was found at Hailey's mother's house and on a computer at Adkin's mother's house in Big Spring. In fact, the documents say pornography and images of deviant acts has been found on every electronic device connected to Adkins that has been searched by law enforcement.

The warrant issued by a Scurry County judge gave law enforcement the right to seize computers, cameras, cell phones and other devices that may contain child pornography.

The affidavit also states that some of the pornographic images retrieved from a memory stick and cell phone belonging to Shawn Adkins were made using a Kodak Easy Share camera. Two of those cameras were found at his grandmother's home in Dunn.

I also wonder if the illegal drugs purchased in Scurry County have a direct connection to where Hailey is and if/or the person they purchased said drugs from is involved. Or, could it be possible that Hailey died as the result of her mother's & Shawn's illegal drug use? Did either of them take advantage of her or maybe fly off the handle in a rage the night of the 27th? Afterall, David last saw Hailey between 9 & 10 pm...right? So maybe she wasn't still alive & sleeping in her bed early morning of the 28th like BJD suggested...

Video at this link has an arial view showing the area the remains were scattered in with regard to where the actual lake is. Looks like they were in walking distance but definitely far enough away for investigators to say the lake isn't involved. That is unless of course an animal didnt drag the remains from the shore of the lake... Idk, just speculating. IMO the lake doesn't appear to be involved as the search area wasn't that close to it.
