Search Teams Suspend Weekly Searches for Missing Colorado City Teen

 ::snipping2::

When Billie Dunn, Hailey's mom, heard that the group was not going to look for her daughter every week, Billie became upset and disappointed.

"She thought we were giving up. She was hurt, she feels that some people are giving up. I actually got a text from her this morning and it said tell them that we are going to look for Hailey everywhere. I'm not going to give up on her and I'm not going to believe any theories until we find her," Jenkins said.

 ::snipping2::

The Hope for Hailey organization has split up according to their Facebook because they had some communication issues. They split in to the Search Center and Hope for Hailey and both groups no longer work together.

ummmm..when was the last time that Billie actually looked for her child herself? isn't she the same 'concerned' mother who moved away from where her child disappeared from?
she should spend less time in bed with her boyfriend who is a person of interest in Hailey's disappearance and more time looking for Hailey...Poor Hailey..she deserved so much more...

In my humble opinion...Billy's concern that the searches are not going to continue if proof that poor Hailey's Body will never be found in that area!

Hailey Dunn Disappearance | Billie Dunn & Shawn Adkins Move to Austin Area

The  ::snipping2:: investigation  ::snipping2:: into the disappearance and possible murder of 13-year-old Hailey Dunn hasn’t really done anything to stem the fleeing of the main suspects: mother Billie Dunn and her boyfriend Shawn Adkins, who have moved to the Austin area suburb of Buda.

http://www.elliscountyobserver.com/2011/07/16/hailey-dunn-disappearance-billie-dunn-shawn-adkins-move-to-austin-area/

Fellow Monkeys,
I haven't been able to find any other news confirming SA and BD have moved to Buda together. All I can find are stories saying BD has moved to Austin and seperate stories saying SA has moved out of the area. Has anyone else seen this in any other news story or is this one man's rumor filled blog?
The article also has information and pictures of two other people in poor Hailey's world, saying they are either registered sex offenders or felons of some other type. Poor Hailey.
I'm going to try to find more information and will post here if/when I do.
Also, in case anyone else searches the net like I do for information, I wanted to warn you. While I was searching I clicked a link for this story at localpages,com and it sent a Trojan Horse virus to my computer.
Edit to change maroon to navy

Let's see now....Billie and Shawn have moved off to the Austin area and are living
together there.
Clint is doing 90 days in jail.
Billie's big time lawyer was arrested for pulling a glock on police after being
stopped for drunk driving.
Naomi's mother, Patricia, has taken up with one of the searcher's husband.
The Search Center has closed and the three board members refuse to account
for the more than $10,000 that was donated to the search.
Richy, Clint's BIL, has someone pregnant with twin boys, even though he is still
married to Mary, Clint's sister.
Billie's mother and brother have both been arrested since Hailey's disappearance.
and Billie herself is now on probation for two years.
There has been no arrest for the child porn.

Poor little Hailey.   I am afraid she will never be found.

On the post, Connie Jones wrote: 'They say it gets better with time [but] whoever said that does not know what they are talking about.

'No my friends, it doesn't get better. I know everyone is saying I have [given] up. No, I haven't given up but seven months is a long time.'

 ::snipping2::

Colorado City manager Pete Kampfer told the Huffington Post: 'It is an open investigation. Detectives are still perusing leads and doing follow up on the investigations.

'Our new [police] chief is in training this week and we will be working on it aggressively in the weeks to follow.'

Volunteers are planning on meeting up this Saturday to post flyers in the area and remind people that she is still missing.

Speaking with KTXS News, volunteer organizer Kristy Lloyd said the group's efforts are intended to 'keep her face up as good as we can -- so people won't forget her.'

Facebook Rumors Hinder Hailey Dunn Investigation
Reported by: Bigcountryhomepage.com Staff Reports
Wednesday, August 10 2011

One of the lead investigators into the disappearance of Colorado City 13-year-old Hailey Dunn says internet rumors have been one of the biggest hindrances for detectives looking into the case.

In an interview with the Colorado City Record, Detective Kelsey Alexander of the Colorado City Police Department said rumors slow the investigation by forcing officers to confirm or discredit information.

Colorado City Police have not given answers as to why there have been no arrests in the criminal investigation into the disappearance of Hailey Dunn in spite of failed polygraphs and child pornography.  This article is likely going to trigger anger in many readers.

Hi All,
It has been a long time since I have posted. I just wanted to say that I still think about Hailey every day. Carrie McGonigle is in CCity for Hailey's vigil tomorrow. Hopefully, she will get some answers.

HAILEY DUNN: Not giving up hope
Balloon release held in honor of missing teenager

ABILENE — An hour before Colorado City's football team took the field in Abilene, a handful of people met to remember the town's most recognized cheerleader.

 ::snipping2::

Today, eight months after her Dec. 27 disappearance, Hailey turns 14.

On Saturday, a 13-year-old Hailey smiled from posters, T-shirts and cards that ultimately were tied to balloons to drift over the city's water towers

 ::snipping2::

Standing near the pastor who led the group in prayer were Billie Jean Dunn and Shawn Adkins.

Dunn said she drove in last week for her son's 17th birthday. She stayed to attend the vigil for her daughter.

"It's still really, really tough," Dunn said. "I still wonder if I'll ever get to see her again."

She moved to the Austin area to distance herself from small-town rumors and what she considers a lack of policing from local law enforcement, she said. She had always intended to move back to South Texas when her son David graduated high school.

"I don't like it here at all," Dunn said. "I don't trust law enforcement. It's upsetting these are the people I have to rely on to find my daughter."

I drove through Colorado City just last week and there is a huge billboard of Hailey on the Interstate.

How sad this story is - if my daughter was missing from my town, the LAST thing I would do is to leave that town.  I would be standing on LE's doorstep every morning in their faces.  Just sayin...

Agree, cadillac.  It's good to hear about the huge billboard of Hailey.  I wonder if there is much of an ongoing investigation.  I hope.

Hailey Dunn: Billie Jean and friends speak out at impromptu press conference
Jerrie Dean, Missing Persons Examiner
August 28, 2011

Billie Jean Dunn and Shawn Adkins stand next to a pastor as he leads a prayer vigil for missing Hailey Dunn, who turned 14 on August 27.  Hailey was last seen on December 27, 2010.

During the vigil, a press conference was held and Billie, plus three other woman, one who is Carrie McGonigle, the mother of Amber Dubois, and a woman named Holly, were criticizing the way the police are doing the investigation.

"The only place they are looking at is in my back yard, and if they can't find my child they need to get off their asses and find my baby," said Billie.

This is a video of the press conference from yesterday. It mentions that they found bones in a search (six months agao) and LE did nothing.  Really?  That doesn't seem possible, but I hold Carrie in high regards so I believe it.

These are some BIG accusations, however, I agree I don't think that Carrie would make them if they are unfounded.  Hopefully, something will come of this and a new investigator will be assigned.  I believe after 8 months, that a fresh set of eyes could only be beneficial.  I just wonder why there wasn't more National Media called in for this announcement?

After 8 Months, Investigators Say Hailey Dunn Case Still Priority
By Casey James, KTXS News
POSTED: 6:34 pm CDT August 29, 2011
UPDATED: 7:39 pm CDT August 29, 2011

 ::snipping2::

Colorado City Police Chief, Roy Owens told KTXS "We are not giving up on anything. This is an ongoing investigation."

The Colorado City Police tell us that in the beginning of the case the investigation was intense, but over time it does settle down.

Detective Kelsey Alexander wants to assure the community that the case is still priority.

Alexander said "It's not getting brushed aside. We just in order of the integrity of our case and investigation, we can't say what exactly were doing. We always have to think that our person or persons of interest are watching."

On a daily bases they are receiving tips, emails and phone calls about Hailey and continue to follow leads.

Alexander said they have several leads "Even as far as Mexico, helping us look for her based on different leads and speculations."

A meeting has been planned for all the law enforcement agencies to meet and regroup on new information involving the Hailey Dunn case in the next few weeks.

Porn in Dunn case not yet presented to grand jury
Authorities still analyzing found images

By Greg Kendall-Ball
Abilene Reporter-News

The case involving the discovery of nearly 109,000 pornographic images on devices seized during the search for missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn has not been presented to a grand jury, and law enforcement officials say they're not sure when it will be.

 ::snipping2::

Toombs said representatives from the agencies involved in the case — Colorado City Police Department, Mitchell County Sheriff's Office, 32nd District Attorney's Office, Texas Rangers and the FBI — had another meeting planned soon to discuss the status of the case.

 ::snipping2::

He said Billie Dunn, along with representatives of various search organizations, criticized the way the investigation was proceeding — specifically with regard to looking at local sex offenders — and the lack of communication between law enforcement and Billie Dunn.

"Well, for one, we have looked at every sex offender in the entire county. Multiple times even. We've looked at them and the FBI has looked at them, multiple times," Toombs said.

"And as far as communication, that was the decision of Billie and her attorney not to speak with us," he said.
