A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has finally set a court date in the defamation lawsuit against talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw over his coverage of the Natalee Holloway case.

The suit was filed nearly five years ago by two Surinamese brothers who claim the television psychologist aired a segment on his show that depicted them as "guilty of committing criminal acts against Holloway."

"The judge entered a ruling setting the case for trial for October 12," Dr. Phil's attorney, Charles Babcock, told HuffPost.

Babcock had filed a motion to have the high-profile case thrown out of court, but the judge recently dismissed the request.

"Her reasoning was that there was fact issues precluding throwing the case out right now," Babcock said. "Of course, it's not a decision on the merits, but she's going to let it go forward to trial."

I hope I am wrong but ... considering that the courts have sided with the Kalpoes' attorneys on every motion that the McGraw's attorneys have put forward for the the past four years ... I have a hinky feeling that this lawsuit is never going to go to trial.

Considering I do not think that Aruba will allow Deepak and Satish to be questioned under oath regarding aspects of the Natalee Holloway case ... aspects which would be incriminating to the Kalpoes ... aspects would expose the corrupt investigation which prevented justice from prevailing ... could it be that the financial backers of this lawsuit will drop the lawsuit IF McGraw's attorneys do not attempt to negotiate.

Either way ... I could be wrong but ... I do not think this defamation lawsuit will end up in the courts.

Bottom Line:  The outcome will be what the outcome will be.  I wish we had a crystal ball.

In order to prove demaimation they would have had to have their reputations defamed. I wonder just how much lattitude there will be in questioning as to their involvement, changing stories, lying to Aruban LE. Dr Phil's attys will tryi and prove that the Kalpoe's brought all this on themsleves and contributed to their own appearance that the public perceived.

"They are suspected of the primary criminal act of together with other people committing premeditated murder, alternately together with other people murdering somebody, more alternately rob a person of her liberty with fatal consequences and even more alternately raping somebody," the statement said.

"Aside from these suspicions against the two brothers, there are new suspicions, which at this point the prosecutor is not commenting on."

I agree.  This is why I had hoped that that the judge would have honored McGraw's attorney request to dismiss the lawsuit during the recent Summary Judgement hearing.  Instead the ruling is that the an October trial is where it is at.

This is my understanding...

19 year old girl goes out to one of the night clubs with a girlfriend.  They meet this guy Michelangelo.  They all go to a couple of the casinos including the one at the Holiday Inn where the 19 year old decides to call it a night and walk back to her hotel (the Marriott).

This is the part that I'm not real sure about...

(whether it was the Michelangelo that followed her out, or if there was another guy out there waiting for her...maybe tipped off by Michelangelo...jmo) 

She leaves her girlfriend and "Michelangelo" in the casino but as she's walking she notices that he has followed her out and is walking slow?  He suggests a short cut back to her hotel,  that's where he tries to rape her?  I think it also says he taped her mouth shut to keep her from screaming, but that she fought for her life and got away from him.She ran to her hotel and reported the occurancen to the police who r looking for a man with initials of JZP

Are they saying that the video from one of the casino cameras will help in the investigation because it might have him on the video?

in this report it says in the last paragraph that
competent authoritys took down info given the discription and they are not excluding  checking photos of people in the casinos which can help facilitate finding who Micheangelo is and if the report made was done in earnest (truthful).

Are they saying that the video from one of the casino cameras will help in the investigation because it might have him on the video?

in this report it says in the last paragraph that
competent authoritys took down info given the discription and they are not excluding  checking photos of people in the casinos which can help facilitate finding who Micheangelo is and if the report made was done in earnest (truthful).

Considering I do not think that Aruba will allow Deepak and Satish to be questioned under oath regarding aspects of the Natalee Holloway case ... aspects which would be incriminating to the Kalpoes ... aspects would expose the corrupt investigation which prevented justice from prevailing ... could it be that the financial backers of this lawsuit will drop the lawsuit IF McGraw's attorneys do not attempt to negotiate.

Either way ... I could be wrong but ... I do not think this defamation lawsuit will end up in the courts.
