Kapp, I too look forward to reading your take on the search.  You will be blessed for going out and doing what I wished I could.  I still have some problems with the whole story, but it could be that TBI is only letting certain information out for a specific reason.  I would rather them be playing it close to the vest and me having questions than to give out too much information and mess up the case.  Anyway, just wanted to send Easter blessing to all!

Hundreds of people gathered at the Decatur County Fairgrounds Sunday morning to pray for Holly Bobo. She has been missing for a week and investigators believe she was kidnapped.

Volunteers have been working tirelessly to find her. They gathered this morning for a prayer service and a balloon release. Crews are expected to search all day Sunday.

What we know so far as fact:

    * Holly Bobo is missing.
    * Blood was found at the scene of the alleged abduction.
    * Everybody is a suspect.
    * Investigators have more than 200 leads but no persons of interest so far.
    * Investigators believe the abductor/perpetrator is a local to Darden, TN or the surrounding area. However, they are searching as far as the surrounding lakes with technology used to scan for bodies.

Here's what we need to know:

    * Darden, TN has an estimated population of under 1,000 people.
    * Parsons, Tennessee, which is only five miles east of Darden, has a population of roughly 2,500 people. This is a very small town, people.
    * Out of this 2,500 (est) population, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation lists 13 registered sex offenders in Parsons, Tennessee.
    * More than five of the 13 listed sex offenders in Parsons are listed as "violent," offenders.
    * Darden, TN only has one registered sex offender which is not listed as a violent offender.
    * Lexington, TN is only 10 miles from Darden. 50 sex offenders are registered in Lexington, TN.
    * Several sex offenders on the Lexington registry are "violent."

Good morning monkeys & I hope all of you are having a beautiful holiday.

As for me, my Easter is all about reflection & gratefulness.   Yesterday I witnessed the true spirit of humanity, an unprecedented outpouring of giving of ones self to aid those in need.  I left my home in the morning to join in the search for Holly Bobo, it was noted after a week of storms it was a beautiful warm sunny day with a ray of hope that the day would be fruitful.  As we traveled into Decatur County, TN we could sense the enormity of the task at hand.  The area is extremely dense with thick woods, homes spread out acres from each other spotted by many bodies of water as small as a narrow creek to several lakes.   As we got closer many of the homes & businesses were adorn with pink bows & various signs for Holly.

Upon arrival at the fairgrounds there even was assistance by volunteers that served as parking attendants, as we entered you'll notice from the pictures I posted last night that there was a large poster of beautiful Holly greeting us at the front door.  Directly in back of the center was the stage known to all of us from watching videos of the vigil that took place a few nights before, the pink balloons still up but beginning to deflate & another large poster of Holly.   There were tables from wall to wall with donations of various food & drinks plus a concession stand kitchen.   To the left were tables that offered everything a volunteer searcher could need before they left on their journey; bug spray, gloves, etc.   As I left a personal & organization cash donation at the assigned table people were pouring in to drop things off from store deliveries to neighbors with homemade donations, you name it.

I signed in and proceeded to get instructions, they stamped my hand & informed us that we had to check back in when the bus returned or else they would have had a search crew out looking for anyone that didnt sign back out.  We all were told that we would be in groups of 10, to spray down for bugs, etc.   I gathered a bottle of iced water & a snack while waiting for the next bus out.

In the meantime, I spoke to quite a few people & got a good sense of what people thought & how they were feeling.   The building was filled with hope & determination the likes I have never seen.  Everyone I spoke to had nothing but the finest things to say about the entire Bobo family & literally gushed on what a fine young lady Holly is.  I spoke to a neighbor, a pastor, a local officer & friends of Holly's and not much to my surprise each and everyone of them felt that she was taken by someone in her past.   I was told privately a few details about a particular person but honestly I cannot share it right now so it doesnt compromise the investigation.  I also got a few answers to rumors going round, none of which should be shared at this time but one I can relay is both Clint & Holly's mother tried to call Holly.  Not a soul felt that she would ever run off for any reason whatsoever & not a mummer of inappropriate behavior on Holly, her family or her current boyfriend's behalves.   A few went so far to say that the law better find this person first...well you can imagine what followed.

The other day I posted a picture here provided by Will Nunley (WBBJ reporter) of a marine whom volunteered on his leave.   Now, I have the back story of this young man.   John came in from Cincinnati & what we didnt know by looking at the picture was that he stayed for an entire week, going back and forth on searches & slept right in the community center every night.   This is what this fine young man did with his down time of regular duties as a Marine....to this I say God bless our troops & why I am so proud as to be an Army mom.   In honor of him I'll repost his picture, the stranger that slept on the Decatur County Fairgrounds floor just so he could lend a hand.

Time to get on the bus:   After enduring a few more pleas from my hubbie (physically couldnt search) I finally convinced him to go into town to find something to do for quite a few hours (bless his heart), told him I loved him & thanked him for putting up with his head strong wife.  It was time to board a yellow school bus with a big pink bow on the rear view mirror.  Within my crew was a woman named Tina whom is the mother of one of Holly's best friends, Brittany.   Tina's brother and wife came in from Chicago to help search.  We began our journey but not without a few glitches along the way.   At first we were assigned to go to a location off of Rt 40, as we got to a checkpoint we were told that we would be rerouted to 5 Forks Rd, a road that is above but leads to the Bobo home.   Those of us on the bus had to take our first pause for patience when we got to the next checkpoint at 5 Forks & were told we would be going to another area.  During the ride a few of us had a rather intimate conversation, Tina shared with me how her daughter and Holly both made two year plans of what they wanted to do.  Holly & Brittany went to HS together & then went on to nursing school.  She told me that Brittany is having a very difficult time & from what she described I gently suggested to her that it sounded as though she may have signs of PTSD, counseling will be sought.   Even this family had been contacted by several media outlets to speak to Brittany, Tina to date declined every request, wisely in my opinion.

Now, a curve I wasnt anticipating we began to travel on 5 Forks and then it became obvious to the locals on the bus that we were coming up on where the Bobo's live.   On that road it was pointed out to me where the neighbor that called 911 lived with a abandoned trailer in front & to the side on another piece of property.   I was informed that abandoned trailer was taken apart upside down by LE.  Tina then told me "okay, we're now going to come up on where Holly lives."  The homes in this area are at least 2 acres, some more apart from each other.  The Bobo home is on the corner with a long driveway leading to the house.  There is a mailbox on the left of the entrace & a wishing well on the right.   As we came up on it there was a LE block at the entrance of the driveway & a slight media presence.   It is my strong sense from being on the ground that it is highly likely that the neighbor heard Holly scream after she was already abducted & on route to parts unknown with it being very possible that her brother did not hear screams if they began at this point versus right on their property.   It was my belief prior & certainly now that there had to be some type of vehicle off in the distance of her home available to her abductor.

We turned left & stopped at the next command post.   LE handling coordinates came aboard the bus to give us instructions including very specific items we were to look for.  Among these items included a host of personal items such as clothing, etc., details I will not list at this time.  We were told to go 50 to 75 ft in from the road as this was a revisit to the area that had already been searched closer to the road.  We got out of the bus & were assigned to search an area that crosses the Bobo home, Myracle Town Road.  My crew of 10 took one side of the road & another crew of 10 took the other.   We spread out 6 to 10 feet apart, being mindful to have a person visible to the right & left of us at all times.  Most of us had a "walking stick" with us, trust me it came in handy.  It was so thick that without a GPS or compass you could easily feel lost quickly.  I had one personal scare when I came across a spot in front of a tree where the soil looked "black wet" unlike the ground around it & was about 3ft by 4ft wide.    I immediately looked for a source where water could be coming from because it wasnt in front of me, poked its very outside perimeter gingerly to check for a depth & called in my team captain to help me assess the spot.   Quickly, we discovered a crack, not even considered a creek by any stretch that water may have collected but called the command center just the same to have them come in to look at it, the reprieve from standing still & getting some water while waiting was welcomed but at the same time an overwhelming nerve racking few moments ensued.  The area was cleared & we moved on...phew.  Along our journey only one other possible thing we found that went in my "could be something, could be nothing" category, a long strap with a buckle (not a bungee but similar) green & white in color that was at the side of the road & ripped on one end.  I felt at its onset that it could easily be from any vehicle driving the road and it snapped but we called back the command post & they processed it to be taken with them just the same.

Now, you have to keep in mind that Im a Jersey born & raised girl, getting up there in age (hard to admit) in the midst of the deep south for a few years but certainly not extremely familiar with rural life or its elements, trust me it provided a few moments of humor in an otherwise daunting task & very somber occasion.  Ya know, like everyone around me was saying y'all and then suddenly Id instinctively come out with "hey yous guys" or "yo" or for some reason I came across a situation that had me typically saying "O madonna mia."  Needless to say, I'm running out to get a Zumba wii and dance exercise video because one doesnt realize how out of shape they are than previous years until they track thru thick bush & go up and down hill climbing over tree stumps and God knows...yea I'm feeling it today but I dont care when realizing its a day or so compared to a life.   I can't even begin to describe how it felt having in the back of our minds that we might stumble upon something we all feared, I guess God sent me not only to help but to provide a few moments of brevity much needed.

After what felt like a long day we were pulled back in to return to the fairgrounds.  Most of my crew was escorted back by a man who was a member of the Bobo's church in his van, the air conditioning was a God sent, I'm not gonna lie we were all spent.   There was more intimate discussion about Holly & her family as well as what was being perceived probably happened.   These conversations during the course of the day only affirmed my initial thoughts from the very beginning.  During the ride back there were moments of feeling let down that it appeared yet another day was going by with little to no answers & it would get quiet.   As we passed the Bobo home on our return I made the sign of the cross (Im Catholic) & from that we all instantaneously bowed our heads to say a silent prayer for her & her entire family.   We think we know how they must be feeling, but Id venture to say we can't fully comprehend the anguish.

We arrived back at the fairgrounds amongst a few more crews beginning to return as well.   The tables were full of new dishes for the dinner hours & it was bustling with sweaty, tired, slightly frustrated but determined individuals.  We sat down to unwind for a bit & I introduced my hubbie to a host of people I met thorough out the day.   I cannot explain it but within one day I ended up feeling bonded to these selfless individuals as if I knew them much longer.  I exchanged my personal info with a few & mentioned that if needed I may return next weekend but in the meantime I was available in any way I could offer support & assistance.     It was time to spare my patient hubbie from hanging at the center & head home so we embraced the people we met, sharing a few shed tears & expressed what each of us knew we all felt without speaking a word.

May all of you be blessed this Easter & please keep the Bobo family in your thoughts & prayers

Your Capp (Paula)

Thank you so much, Capp.  I appreciate all you have done for this family.  I wish I could have been there right alongside of you.  I cannot tell you how much I admire you and all of the searchers.  God bless you on this Easter Sunday.  I pray that Holly is found soon.  This story is so very sad.

You are so articulate and I felt as if I was a part of the search.  Thank you for doing that.  I admire what you have done for this family who were strangers to you.  God bless.
