I just walked in on the end of an interview with Cole Thompson, author of "Portrait of a Monster", on Fox News around 1:50 EDT.  The only thing I heard was that after Joran beat Stephany up, she was in bad shape but alive for a while; he took a shower and then he murdered her.  It is so hard to grasp the cruelty.

Sorry I missed it but hopefully it will come on again.

Thanks sylvia

It will be three week until our local "Chapters" have this book in stock.  My American DIL will be crossing the line to visit her parents this afternoon.  She promised to check out a couple of bookstores in the Bellingham area.  If she is successfuly in getting a copy ... I predict that she will begin reading prior to returning this evening so ... it may be a few days I have this book in my possession.

The more we learn, the worse it gets.  So there was a shower in between the beating and putting the shirt over her face.

Foxy Lady case continues in October

TUESDAY, JULY 5, 2011 5:51 P.M.

ORANGE CITY - The merits of lawsuit against Alex Mathew, his wife Liliana and Michael Levenstone because Foxy Lady strip club trafficking is scheduled for October 28. Instead of each individual, so far as they did all three in the same case to court. This was decided last Friday during the pre-trial.

Mathew and Levenstone were not present during the pre-trial. "Both of them did not feel well," said their lawyer, John Zara. Their Dutch lawyer Bram Moszkowicz was not present.

Moszkowicz had during the pre-trial in April asked for two new witnesses to the hearing list to add. The judge did agree to that request Friday. Zara: "These are people who come to the Public Ministry had sent a fax containing the message that there would be human beings." Who are these witnesses, the lawyer can not confirm, but the fact is that even in earlier press statement had indicated that the message received from the Dutch National Police Agency. Coordination would direct its trafficking from Ukraine reports on trafficking in Aruba have heard. Also, the judge accepted the request by Zara for a large number of new witnesses. "Twelve of them live on Aruba and forth about a dozen trips abroad, "said the lawyer.

On Oct. 25, all witnesses were heard, followed three days later, the matter content is treated. That date is not met or the investigation of the OM is not off, then on October 28 another pre-trial held. Zara was delighted with the decision of the court - which incidentally no further explanation was given - to the three defendants in a case. "That makes the whole less complex."

The lawyer was Friday with Liliana Mathew in the pre-trial. The prosecution charged the same places her as her husband, she is not just stuck in jail. "That's because her detention in November, was suspended in connection with the illness of her mother." Initially, the mother from the United States to Aruba to come by Mathew to be provided, but the woman is too ill to be proved. Mathew's passport was revoked in connection with the case, so they in turn could not travel. Later they still subject to conditions by the prosecution.

Both Alex Mathew and Michael Levenstone sit still remains stuck in KIA. Both suffer from health problems according to Zara. Mathew must use a wheelchair, said Mathew. "This is the case since March 28 he was abused as a result of the prison revolt," said Zara least his counsel. "He can run, but not for long. My client had before he was imprisoned, had problems with his back. "

NORD.LINK is a proposed subsea HVDC power cable between Norway and Germany. The feasibility study was completed at the end of 2008. If constructed, the capacity of NORD.LINK is expected to be 1,400 MW.[1][2] It is estimated to cost €1.4 billion.[3] The interconnector is planned installed between a new substation at Ertsmyra in Norway to Diele or Brunsbüttel substation in Germany.[4] The new connection can be operational by 2017–2018.[5]
The Norwegian transmission system operator Statnett SF owns the project, whilst, the feasibility study was carried out together with the German transmission system operator Transpower Stromübertragungs (former E.ON Netz). Dutch Caribbean - Venezuela-Aruba-Curacao Gas Pipeline on Agenda

Aruba PM Mike Eman reportedly asked Curacao PM Schotte to put the Venezuela-Aruba-Curacao gas pipeline project on the agenda for PM Schotte’s planned (though as yet unscheduled) meeting with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Last year, the countries expressed support for continued cooperation between Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA and the refineries in Aruba and Curacao. It is widely expected that Schotte will visit Venezuela later this month for a meeting with President Chavez. (Various media)

Curacao\Aruba – Banking on a Venezuelan Gas Pipeline is an Illusion

Spanish conglomerate Repsol S.A. announced that the Perla 1X well off the Venezuela coast was the fifth largest hydrocarbon discovery in 2009. Now this may sound like quite a bit, but Venezuelan production has been declining to the point that the country has started to import natural gas.
Petroleos de Venezuela (PdVSA) officials said in 2006, that between 2007 and 2015, the distribution of gas through pipelines would reach 3.2 million families in 23 states and the Venezuelan District Capital. Late last year, Venezuelan state-owned oil company PdVSA announced a reboot of the gasification plan. In 2011, not even 1% of the targeted households are connected to the gas pipeline system.
Venezuela still has a large potential for producing natural gas and, from time to time, has talked of developing LNG facilities to export some of this. It is admirable that Curacao and Aruba are looking into alternative energy resources, but counting on the Venezuelan gas pipeline plans is an illusion, an undisclosed Antillaans Dagblad source said.

Van der Sloot Agrees to Cooperate with Peruvian Prosecutors

Updated: Wednesday, 15 Jun 2011, 7:25 AM CDT
Published : Wednesday, 15 Jun 2011, 7:25 AM CDT

(NewsCore) -  Joran van der Sloot, previously linked to the disappearance of US teen Natalee Holloway, has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in Peru over the murder of a local woman, raising hopes of a quicker conclusion to the case. Formal charges could be filed against the Dutchman as soon as Wednesday.

The 23 year old appeared in court in Lima on Tuesday charged with robbing and killing 21-year-old Stephany Flores in his hotel room in May 2010. He addressed the court in Spanish, according to a report in El Comercio.

Edwar Alvarez, a lawyer for the Flores family, told the newspaper that her father Ricardo Flores identified one of his daughter's wallets, found in van der Sloot's possession after he fled to neighboring Chile following her death. The grieving father was described as being calmer than he was last week -- when he first came face to face with the Dutchman in court -- but he choked up as he spoke to reporters outside.

"I have to consult my wife, but I'm 95 percent sure that [wallet] belonged to Stephany," he said.

Alvarez said the Flores family is seeking a sentence of life imprisonment for the Dutchman, considering this would be a "just penalty" for the crimes of robbery and murder. Van der Sloot's former lawyer, who quit unexpectedly earlier this month, had suggested a manslaughter plea with a reduced sentence of three to five years, arguing his client acted in "a fit of rage."
