Holly Bobo's phone pings signal near home hours after abduction
May 13, 2013

Bobo's abductor made a big mistake by leaving her cell phone turned on, so with the help of GPS tracking, the location of Bobo's phone can be plotted on a map that traces a path through Parsons that eventually heads back in the direction of the Bobo family home.

Keep in mind, Bobo was abducted at about 8 a.m., and the first law enforcement officer arrived at the Bobo home at 8:11 a.m.

Then, Holly Bobo's phone pinged a GPS signal within a quarter-mile from her home at 9:58 a.m., nearly two hours after she was taken.

"We know at Five Forks at 9:58, there's another ping. The relevance of that is, I believe, there is a police car with a police blockade right there, so we could have dashcam video of who arrived with Holly's phone at 9:58 a.m.," said Mike, a Nashville cyberspecialist and member of the Without Warning team.

The investigators believe that although the first responders had arrived by 9:58 a.m., the abduction was recent enough that everyone who had come to the home to look for Bobo by that point was still local.

Holly Bobo’s Family Calls for New Task Force
Posted on: 9:33 pm, May 13, 2013, by Natasha Chen, updated on: 03:26pm, May 14, 2013

UPDATE: Sen. Dolores Gresham (R – Somerville), who represents Decatur County, issued this statement Tuesday:

“The pain the Bobo family is going through is unimaginable.  I certainly understand their frustration, particularly in light of what looks to be missed opportuntities by local police in Cleveland to solve the case of the three missing women there.  I would want to make sure that every stone is uncovered too.  At the same time, I have seen no evidence to believe the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which is one of the finest law enforcement organizations of its type in the country, is not pursuing this case capably and to the utmost of their ability.  Yes, more eyes on the case may be helpful, but we must be careful that there are not too many cooks in the kitchen so the very important investigative work is not hampered.  That being said, I would tend to lean upon the expert advice offered by the TBI in whether or not a task force should be organized.”

Do you think the person had her phone on him and stashed her and came back to "help."

That's an interesting possibility, labubske.  And the person would have to be someone who is not expected to be at work or at school that day at that time.

Petition Started By Holly Bobo's Family Wants Task Force Established
Story Created: May 16, 2013 at 8:17 PM CDT
(Story Updated: May 16, 2013 at 11:14 PM CDT  )

DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn.- The search for missing nursing student Holly Bobo continues with a fight for change with a petition to Governor Haslam and the Tennessee State Legislature to re-focus its efforts and resources to find all of the missing persons in Tennessee.

"You know after 2 years we still don't have Holly and we don't have any answers," said family friend, Terrie Bromley. " We feel law enforcement is probably overloaded with cases just like Holly's and we are just trying to help in anyway that we can."

In response to the families online request Holly's mother, Karen Bobo shared a statement by State Senator Dolores Gresham endorsing the TBI's efforts.

Karen Bobo replied online with a statement that said although she has been grateful for the TBI's search efforts over the past two years, she feels more could be done to help the families of missing persons across Tennessee.

"I do not doubt the TBI has exhausted all of its time and energies in looking for my daughter Holly. To that end, I am extremely grateful. However, there comes a time to admit when the current efforts are simply not enough to achieve resolution," said Karen Bobo.

Family members said they would like to achieve their goal of 10,000 signatures by May 25, 2013, which is National Missing Persons Day.

TBI: Private investigators did not properly look into Holly Bobo case
May 17, 2013 1:51 PM

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced this afternoon that the non-profit organization “Without Warning” did not investigate the case of Holly Bobo to law enforcement standards, as reported by Nashville television station WSMV - which aired several stories during newscasts this month as well as a special documentary which aired May 12, 2013.

While speaking to TBI Special Agents, each member of the private investigative team admitted that they regurgitated information they had heard and read in order to talk about the case on television, according to a report from the TBI.

In addition, the founder of “Without Warning,” Sheila Wysocki, wrote in an email to a TBI Special Agent: “You all have to realize that we have been able to make any story surrounding this case a ratings winner and online success which was the goal. In return, someone may come forward to be the hero and give you all the right information to resolve this case.”

Each member of the team stated the information provided to them came from the victim’s family.

Since the stories aired, agents with the TBI have gone through the appropriate legal channels to obtain the information provided to “Without Warning,” as well as video footage from WSMV. No information contained in the documents and video has led to any new evidence in the two year old investigation. The majority of documents contained in the binders are print outs of social media sites, comments posted on various internet websites, personal notes, public records, news articles and a production shooting schedule.

TBI: Holly Bobo stories by Channel 4 'erroneous', 'irresponsible'
May 17, 2013 4:25 PM

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on Friday blasted a series of WSMV-Channel 4 “Sweeps month” reports on the disappearance of Holly Bobo as irresponsible and largely false.

Channel 4 reporter Dennis Ferrier had reported that the missing 20-year-old Decatur County woman's cell phone had been tracked shortly after her disappearance, that police dashboard cameras may have caught a glimpse of a potential suspect and that Bobo’s brother was strip-searched as part of the TBI investigation into who may have abducted her. But those details, reported with the help of the Brentwood-based nonprofit Without Warning, were “erroneous,” said TBI Director Mark Gwynn.

“Never have we seen such irresponsible and unprofessional journalism on an active and open TBI investigation that has been so harmful to the case,” Gwynn said.

The TBI said it was looking into whether criminal charges should be filed.

After reading this article, it truly makes me wonder just how low some will go to get ratings?!  If there are any criminal charges that can be filed, I hope TBI will do so.  This appears not only to be unethical, but it could cause problems with the case.

TBI: Holly Bobo stories by Channel 4 'erroneous', 'irresponsible'
May 17, 2013 5:58 PM

UPDATED 5:30 P.M.

WSMV-Channel 4 has released a statement responding to the TBI:

"WSMV is aware of law enforcement concerns about the findings of a private detective group working on behalf of Holly Bobo’s family. A number of stories on Channel 4 simply reported on those findings. Those stories were done with the cooperation and blessing of the Bobo family.

Although the stories have been airing for several weeks, at no point did law enforcement contact WSMV to dispute any of the findings, until this week. Further, WSMV tried unsuccessfully to engage The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in discussions on the detective group findings, but TBI was unwilling to comment for the record until today’s strongly-worded news release.

Channel 4 is committed to fair and accurate reporting in all stories, and is happy to review any concerns raised about the content of those stories. WSMV respects and supports the law enforcement agencies working diligently to solve the Holly Bobo case. We also respect the Bobo family’s choice to hire private detectives in their quest for answers in Holly’s disappearance."

something isnt right, back in 8/11 Karen Bobo stated that LE dont give/share much information
so if the Bobo's were not getting much info, where did all the info come from, that the private
detectives the Bobo's hired, has put out
Holly's disappearance sure has a boat load of twists and turns

VELEZ-MITCHELL: What are the police or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation -- what are authorities telling you?

K. BOBO: The way I understand it, it`s a Tennessee law that actually the TBI doesn`t have to share any information with you as long as the case is ongoing, so we don`t receive much information at all.

Camera, driver license among contents of Bobo's purse

 9:12 PM, Apr 18, 2013   |  4  comments

We're learning more about the discovery of Holly Bobo's purse, and what's inside.

TBI investigators say a dog found her purse Wednesday. Officials used search dogs in the area on Thursday.

WSMV-TV in Nashville is reporting that officials say Bobo's driver license, a camera, a promise ring, and a key chain with a big H were inside the purse.

Karen Bobo, Holly's mom, identified the purse as Holly's before she knew what was inside. Karen Bobo released a statement saying she's grateful the TBI has resumed the search. She says she believes her daughter is alive.

I think everyone should be questioning why Karen never hired Tim Miller, or any other well known search team.

It appears to me that Karen wanted this team to clear Clint from all speculation. More than half of the time spent was about how Clint has absolutely nothing to do with it. That alone sent up red flags.

The next thing that made me suspicious were the cell pings. How in the world could they have pinned them down to the back roads?

This team has said all information given was supplied by Karen Bobo.
