Holly Bobo Suspect Has History Of Violence Against Women
March 5, 2014

about Holly Bobo's alleged killer.

It turns out, Adams has a history of violent assaults against women, including his own mother.

While the 29-year-old unemployed Decatur County man has claimed that he's "not the one," the search of Adams' property over the weekend revealed some potentially tantalizing clues -- including a PT Cruiser apparently riddled with bullet holes.

And court records paint a dark portrait of a troubled man with a history of violence against women.

In 2004, Adams even shot his own mother in the knee at point-blank range with a 9-millimeter handgun.

At the time, Zach Adams was just 19.

In a petition for an order of protection, Adams' stepfather wrote, "We are in fear of our lives," adding that Adams "is a danger to us and the community."

Then three months after Holly Bobo disappeared in 2011, Adams was in trouble again for assaulting another young woman.

Rebecca Earp claimed in court documents that Adams assaulted her "by gripping my neck and pushing me to the floor."

As she tried to get away, Adams "was threatening to shoot me so I turned back around," she said.

That's when "Adams pushed me against the truck and got me on the ground and started hitting me again."

Later, as she sat on the front porch of the house that was just searched, Earp claimed, "When I didn't look at him, he would squeeze my head till I would look at him in the eyes. Then, he would punch me across the porch."

She added, "Adams stated that he would shoot me just like he did his mom."

A month later, investigators went back to the farm to arrest Adams and saw signs that the convicted felon was in the possession of weapons and ammunition.

According to a request for a search warrant, investigators said there were "several targets and items that had apparent bullet holes."

"A black-and-white dog walked up and it had a bleeding wound on its side."

Adams' grandfather said "Zach had shot the dog from the porch."

And just this week, Adams was back in court for the alleged assault last month of Amber Bray.

According to court documents, Adams caused Bray to fear for her safety "by holding a black revolver to her head and threatening to kill her."

"He also pulled a knife on her while threatening to 'gut' her."

After Adams shot his mother in 2004, he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to six months in jail, although the order says he would be allowed to do that time in rehab.

In the second case, he was allowed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail, again getting credit for time in rehab.

The case involving the third woman is still pending.

Murder, kidnapping charges filed in Holly Bobo case in West Tennessee
By Samantha Bryson
Posted March 5, 2014 at 12:42 p.m., updated March 5, 2014 at 6:48 p.m.

Murder and kidnapping charges were filed Wednesday in the disappearance of Parsons, Tenn., nursing student Holly Bobo, marking the first major break in the case since she vanished nearly three years ago.

A Decatur County grand jury returned an indictment against Zachary Adams, 27, whose property was searched by law enforcement Friday in connection with Bobo’s disappearance.

The investigation is expected to continue according to Todd McCall, special agent in charge of the Memphis division of the FBI.

“Just because of the announcement today doesn’t mean that we are finished,” he said. “We are dedicated to ensuring that justice is done.”

Adams was arrested Friday on unrelated aggravated assault charges stemming from a Feb. 6 incident in which he threatened a woman with a handgun and a knife. He is currently jailed in Chester County on a $1 million bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on the murder and kidnapping charges Tuesday.

“We’re in a small town so everyone kind of knows everybody,” said Tammy White, a longtime friend of the Bobo family.

“But we don’t know of any connections (between Adams and Bobo). They didn’t grow up together, they didn’t go to school together. Nothing. There’s no connection between Zach Adams and Holly,” she said.

“The family just appreciates all the prayers they’re getting. Just continue to pray.”

Bobo family spokesman: "We just really need the prayers of the community"
Mar. 5, 2014 5:11 PM

DECATURVILLE -- Kevin Bromley, a close friend of Holly Bobo's parents who has served as a spokesman for the family during the investigation, told The Jackson Sun today that "the family is very, very strong even in the midst of this horrible outcome."

Bromley made his comments after authorities announced this afternoon that Zachary Adams, 29, has been charged with the murder and kidnapping of Holly Bobo.

Bromley said Adams was not a friend of Holly's or in her circle of friends.

"Obviously this is not the outcome that the family had desired," Bromley said.

"We are thankful for the community being very supportive. We just really need the prayers of this community and the surrounding areas in the days to come," he added.

I just saw on topix that the body was recovered in the Tennessee River-autopsy underway.  Has anyone heard this.  I know sometimes Topix gets it right, most time they do not.

I guess if I use my head here I would probably come to the conclusion that after 3 years you could not do an autopsy on a body.  It would probably be bones if that.

an angelic monkey My heart is so heavy today, but the reality of what was feared being true is no shock.  As many of you all know, I was here from day one on this one & even went to search for Holly.  I remember the day as if it were yesterday & the feelings I had tracking thru the woods surrounding her house, talking to people that knew her personally & being driven back to the Decauter fairgrounds by the family's pastor, Dale Robble.   My husband engraved Holly's  name in the walking stick (a branch from those very woods)  I used to brace myself walking thru the terrain.  During the course of that day there was discussion that there may have been someone stalking her, speculation that she may have recognized the person at first & then abducted her, as well as all the other theories out there & discussed here.   However, one thing always rang true from everyone's lips, Holly was a sweet hometown girl that everyone expressed as being adored.  My thoughts & prayers will be with the Bobo family due to the murder of Holly & all they have endured.

IMHO, this case may have been solved sooner, maybe not depending on circumstances we have yet seen come to surface yet, albeit frustrating over nearly 3 years.  I do know that Zachary Adam's was questioned before, his brother Dylan (in federal prison) was interrogated as well.   Authorities have not said they found her remains yet, but it appears logical that they have something significant to support the indictment or explain the amount of time the various agencies were at the Adam's property.  I havent been here in a good long while, life has had me very busy in a few directions including joyfully in the beginning stages of preparing for my daughter's wedding. While I experience that upcoming joy, I cannot help but think how horrid it is that the Bobo family will not be able to share that joy among other life experiences Holly should have had, its extremely heartbreaking  an angelic monkey

PS   This local report I saw earlier tonight was posted, at the end of the video it also said that Zachary Adams was arrested 20 times since 2002,  shot his own mother in the knee at point blank range in 2004 but only sentenced to 6 months jail time or rehab...WTF?  (maybe thats why she lives in Atlanta) yet she doesnt want to believe her son did this, seriously?  He was arrested in 2011 for assualting another girl in 2011 & the alleged assault recently of his girlfriend's sister.

I remember very clearly about you searching for Holly.  It had reminded me, then and now, of when I searched for Sarah Foxwell.  It is something we never forget . . . nor do I think we are supposed to forget.
Good to see you again and congratulations on the upcoming wedding.

Holly Bobo Suspect Has History Of Violence Against Women

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- So who is Zachary Rye Adams?

NewsChannel 5 Investigates has uncovered shocking new details about Holly Bobo's alleged killer.

The case involving the third woman is still pending.

Adams' Facebook page also shows that he's a fan of the 2008 film Taken, which is about the abduction of a young woman.
