How to "snip" quote stacks. Watch this short screen shot video I took of me snipping a quote stack.  You should watch in full screen so you can see it better.

1.  Click on the QUOTE button
2.  Highlight and delete all but the first name that is quoted (in this case me) at the top and delete down to the end of all the other quotes until you reach my words with the [/quote] at the end.  Then, after the [/quote]  you can type in what you want to say.
3.  Always click preview before posting to test.

Keep trying JSM.  It does take a little practice and even then it's easy to mess up.

Great ideas Klaas.

I will probably restrain from posting, but will appreciate people keeping those of us informed each day, who cannot watch.  I don't care about the photos, unless it's pertinent, but if you can be as specific as possible as to what is going on, would be greatly appreciated!  Wish I could take a 2 mos. vacation!

Thanks Monkeys!

I just want to help people out on old, slow computers or not-so-great connections who have a problem with images on pages taking a long time to load.

Every browser allows for NOT loading images on pages.

This should speed up your page loads quite a bit.

In Firefox: Tools > Options > General > Load images automatically. Uncheck that box.

In Opera: Menu > Settings > Preferences > Webpages > Images (dropdown menu) choose No Images.

In IE: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced >  Show Pictures. Uncheck that box.

In Chrome: Tools > Options > Hood Tab > Content Settings > Images > Do not show any images.

In Safari: Preferences > Appearance > Display Images. Uncheck that box.

Another trick when posting URLs.  Often if it's a long URL and often when Twitter URLs are posted they end up being broken or truncated.  To fix this all you have to do is after pasting the URL in your message box, highlight it then click on the INSERT HYPERLINK icon   above.  That will insure that the URL will work and not be broken.  Here is another short video to show you how.

Thanks for this tip, as I have had problems with this. Now I know!

If you RIGHT MOUSE CLICK on most photos on any website you can view the properties.

1.  Right Mouse Click
2.  Choose VIEW IMAGE INFO
3.  You will see the URL that ends usually with a .jpg
4.  Highlight and copy that url

The image of Isa on the link above gives me this URL

http://kold.images.worldnow.com/images/18616989_BG3.jpg

So to make it show up as a photo here in our forum you need to add the URL tags which you can do manually by adding in front of the photo url above and at the end of the photo url (after the .jpg).

It will look like this.  I'll add an extra space so you can see what it looks like first then remove the space so you will see the photo:

[url ] http://kold.images.worldnow.com/images/18616989_BG3.jpg [ /url]

Another way to add the URL tags is to highlight the photo url and then click on the "add image" icon  that will automatically add the url tags for you.

Whala...you have an image embeded in your post!

::snipping2:: Try it as you go to different websites and practice.  You can do that with most.  It's obvious when you can't do it because you won't see the VIEW IMAGE INFO choice.

Sometimes the verbiage used is different in different browsers though so that could be confusing.  The instructions I gave work with Firefox and some other browsers.  In Internet Explorer you click on PROPERTIES instead of VIEW IMAGE INFO and you will find the URL that ends with the .JPG there.

Sorry to take so long to respond.  To post a photo in the forum it needs to be on the internet, either a URL link from a photo you see on the internet or a photo you have uploaded to photobucket or some other online photo sharing site.  You can also use tinypic. For tinypic, you would upload from your ipad then copy the URL link then paste it in the post with [ img ] in front of the url and [ /img ] at the end.  What I usually do is past the URL then highlight it and click on the icon above, that will put the IMG tags on there for you.  Here is the link to tinypic:  http://tinypic.com/

Hope that helps!

Hello Everyone!!
This forum looks like a ghost-town!
Been away for quite a while.

Is Klaas still running the board?
So many brilliant minds on here.

Was having an issue with re-registering until I lucked out and remembered my
User name/password.

Perhaps we can get this place going again if people are willing!
Talk soon,
