Really? I could have sworn the media reported jurors were pooled from DMV records. Still wouldn't you have to be a U.S. citizen to vote or would you simply have to be a resident of the state of FL? I'm a fairly new resident to the state so I'm not sure how it works here. I will say, I had a heck of a time tranferring my Maine license and registering my car here.

Here you have to be a US citizen to vote and to serve on a jury. You have to show your SS card and it is verified before they issue a voter's registration card. That is why they use them for jurors as they don't have to check their legal status for the court. Some states issue driver's license for illegals. They need to make that a national law that you can't have a DL without being here legally because so many illegals can't drive and have caused so many fatal wrecks in many states.

Judge Perry, himself, educated Baez on how the "system" works; potential jurors are randomly pulled by computer based on drivers license.

Thanks. I know part of the problem with switching from Maine to FL was that Maine is not in compliance with the federal ID/driver's license program instituted as a result of 9/11 and the Patriot Act. The registry told me that by 2014, even domestic flight will require a passport. Times they are a changing...

FL used to only use voter registration for jury duty.
Not sure when they switched to driver's licenses.

is on the witness list?

I wondered that yesterday. If they do have access to the names, the defense should have recognized their own penalty phase defense witness on the list of potential jurors. I think they knew and said nothing in hopes it would delay....

Last lady was told to report back, the next one (3261?) is a single parent and is sole provider/custodian for child. 

No one to take care of 7 year old daughter and will not get paid for work missed, special ed teacher.  Is dismissed for cause.
