My signal froze up.  Now he's only doing one or two more today?  JP needs to quit blowing smoke, seriously.  I can't believe anything he says when he threatens.

Ah hell, they cut the mike. I liked hearing Mumbles mumbling his way out of his "good 'ol boy" routine.

Sorry Caylee, the jury took your day away.

It is way too low.  JBP left the microphone over near the juror side of his desk.

ok, what are the arguments for and against an atheist?
good or bad for the defense?

I'd guess "good" for the defense, but that's just my opinion. Not all "believers" have ethical standards and certainly not all atheists lack them, but there are definitions of right and wrong based on scripture that those who propose to believe should be familiar with and at least verbalize agreement with. It just seems to me that atheism relies more on the "human condition" to determine right and wrong whereas believers submit to a "divine" standard and justice based on that.

JUST MY OPINION and not intended to offend anyone! I'm positive there are many examples from both persuasions that would contradict what I just said!

MOO but I would say bad for the defense.  My feeling is that an atheist would have few qualms about voting for the death penalty.
My dad was an atheist who insisted we go to church because it was a good moral base. He believed in obeying the law and living by the golden rule. He was an honorable and respected man.
Your dad sounds like a fine man.  Did he ever voice his opinion on the death penalty?
If it was the law...he obeyed it.

I have to admit it would be very hard not to research the case as the pj's are being instructed. I am nosy by nature and have a journalism degree. Hopefully, these folks can behave.

Didn't a smart monkey already find that limiting the Voir Dire is reversible error?  I can't hear very well right now but it seems as though Mason is already fighting it.  We have 2 jurors now but the judge said they can be struck until the actual trial starts, I don't see how that works.  Do they still get questioned some more, after everything they answered today?  I am so confused.  Can anyone help me understand this?  Thanks.

My understanding from what JP said was that until the jury is sworn in either side can "back strike". That's why they will be sworn in immediately.

I LOVE IT!!

The State may be planning to let the jurors get a whiff of the car!

My God, do you suppose the car still has the odor?

Get the smelling saltz out for KC.

I'm telling you it is the tell-tale heart of this case! That odor!

Don't know if true, but I have heard/read that the car still stinks!

I believe that.
Here we go..he's sending all but 3 home.
Guess they won't be going all night.

4donks....... I'm absolutely sure your dad was a wonderful and morally superior man. The Golden Rule says it all. I hope you don't think I intended to suggest otherwise. If so, I'm very sorry. HUGS!
