I think that last juror, for whom the state's challenge was denied, is going to have a really hard time understanding all the evidence proffered by the experts. I find that very worrying.

I have to come down and say I am totally shocked at JP's ruling about that juror.    I am not sure she has the intellect to process the magnitude of forensic evidence in this case.  WOW!

I want the answer to that myself. My GUESS is "Yes", they have so many strikes they can make without citing a reason.

I honestly thought they didn't need a reason, I thought if they didn't want them they just said it and they were gone. Isn't that what the 10 challenges are for?

The jury has to be a reflection of the community as far as racial stats go.  We don't know, she may be the only African American in the potential jury pool at this time.

She is not on the jury yet, the State can use one of their PCs in back strike

These jurors have passed hardship.  Now getting through publicity and dp and being seated.  Judge Perry wants 12 by end of day today ... no idea when alternates will be chosen? tomorrow? anyone?

Race has nothing to do with JP's decisions. What I do think might be influencing him, is the need to get a jury seated as quick as possible.

The judge wants to keep her because of the color of her skin?  Are we going backwards?  This is just beyond me, for the first time I really feel like the judge has made a mistake.

Can the state still strike her, I thought they could use strike's for any reason or no reason at all.  I am so upset and confused.

that pj really bothered me very much. im sorry i keep saying it but something about her has really irked me and i am glad the state will be able to get rid of her. i wish they could have asked her what changed her mind so drastically in the past 24 hours
