If the jurors are serious about weighing aggravating vs mitigating ... There are at least 4 aggravating ... Caylee's age, Casey was her mother, Casey made money off her death, aggravated child abuse ...

mitigating are -  Casey was too young to make good decisions, Casey had been abused (in any way), Casey was so henpecked/lorded over by her mother she couldn't make good decisions

I imagine many people reading this have been young, been abused in some way, and have been ruled/henpecked/lorded over (or at least felt that way) ... we didn't murder anyone.

DP  ::justice2NJ::
Those are reasons to run away from home -- not to murder your own baby.

I was semi beat as a child.  Parents kept a belt on the curtain rod in the kitchen so it was easily accessible, had fingers put on stove flames if we touched something we were not supposed to touch, had been lined up on wall and bent over to be beat with belt if we were not going to sleep when they sent us to sleep, and basically my parents believed in hitting. I moved out very young, maybe 15, and have not been back ever since.  I only recently started talking to my mother and my father is not with us any more.   I do not hit at all.  But, that is besides the issue.

I grew up, did not have my first child until I was maybe 32 I think, have 3 children, 14, 13 and 11, and not once in their lives have I even thought of killng any of them.

I decided at a young age, and I remember making this decision too, that I would not be like my parents, I would love my children, I would try to make something of myself and in spite of them, I would keep my hands to myself while disciplining my children and use other methods.

One further thing is that my hubby is of the old school where he believes a smack here and there is good.  I put myself in between him and my kids and have had knock down fights with him.  I have told him to keep his hands off my kids.  I have threatened to call police on him.  He no longer tries to even smack them, cause he knows I would raise heck.

But the point is, some people have hard childhoods, but they don't kill or beat their children and they move on from the cycle of abuse.  Apparently, she did not do that.

Zoo, I am so sorry you had to go through that

Well...I'm going to pry myself from the computer chair and run the vaccum, the motor humming should be soothing compared to listening to Bozo, Foghorn and Pat all week. Thanks for the company mymonkey friends and I'll be back to read all your posts later tonight...

So Monday, more of this? Do they have any more back there to question, or do they have to start all over with hardship?

I too am wondering about the age thing. She was 22. How on earth is that a mitigating circumstance? I thought that applies to a much younger person, like perhaps one who can't legally marry, drink, vote, fight and die for ones country or drive a car. Since when is 22 not an adult who should know right from wrong. Abused or not.

What is this crap about how many witnesses each side has?  Who cares?

cause they do not have anyone who will say anything good about her...so they probably will not have many 'witnesses'

Day 6: Ten Potential Jurors Dismissed From Casey Trial
Posted: 8:17 am EDT May 14, 2011Updated: 6:20 pm EDT May 14, 2011
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- Ten prospective jurors have been dismissed on day six of the murder trial of Casey Anthony, who is charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter. A total of 16 prospective jurors have been dismissed since jury selection began on Monday.
 ::snipping2::

 ::snipping2::
WFTV jury expert Dr. Randy Fisher said the potential jurors seem to be the driving force in jury selection.

"The jurors are clearly selecting themselves. Some of these jurors really want to serve on this jury and others clearly do not," Fisher said.

"I think we'll see a half to two-thirds survive the initial cut," said WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer.

Casey stifled a laugh when someone joked about how Nancy Grace focuses on her.

"Like referencing to somebody moving a pencil or wiping their hair. You know stuff like that, that's basically irrelevant," said the potential juror.

The state used its first challenge on Saturday after busting a 21-year-old for not admitting he Tweeted disparaging statements about law enforcement officers.

Among the 11 possible jurors, one is against the death penalty, one knows nothing about the case, and another has been a juror before.

KC is self absorbed but she is in for a real shocker..after her trial is over and she is found guilty.. none of these lawyers will ever see her again. She will be on her own maybe with an infrequent visit from CA

Do you want to be on this jury??? He stright up said NO lol I didn't think he would say that. But he could say no just so they would pick him jmo

IMO his reasons were solid. I liked him and I wouldn't be surprised to see him as jury foreman

Thanks Sunny, but it was nothing compared to what some children are subjected too and I am fine.  And, in some ways, I thank my parents for it, because I learned what I did not want to be.

Make that 12 jurors to a -6 jurors.   (18 potential strikes left ................ 12-18 = -6)

Me too Zoo.  And had a somewhat similar experience.  As my siblings and I say ... no one really grew up in the Brady Bunch wood paneled station wagon or the Partridge Family bus!     And yet, not a one of us has abused or murdered our children?!

Yes but I think most of the ones left will make it.  I'd say more like 9-10 are good of the 12.

I lost my connection, so I'm not sure what I missed, but it seemed to me that the pj's tone of voice was different when being questioned by Mason. Me thinks the pj is not fond of the defense.

Mason spoke to him as if he was an imbecile and it was obvious the pj took exception to being spoken to in that fashion...rightly so IMO....Mason can't be personable even when he tries...he pizzed jurors off before the trail even starts
