I agree. The defense issued a peremptory challenge to one of those pj's, which to my surprise was denied by the judge. Defense said they might later backstrike. The state objected to one pj, and although it was overruled they didn't raise it to peremptory challenge, but reserved the right to backstrike.

Lol! I just took out my calculator bec. that's what I was getting -6 (not -2).

actually if you have 12 jurors + 8 alternates you would have 12 - 8 alternates - 18 strikes = -14

Samarie and Newfie, that is the difference between us and her.  I also do not believe she was physically abused in any way, maybe emotionally, and I certainly do not believe she was sexually abused.

Thanks Sunny, but it was nothing compared to what some children are subjected too and I am fine.  And, in some ways, I thank my parents for it, because I learned what I did not want to be. 

It was a terrible way to have to learn that. We were  taught and shown, that children were a gift from God. I have never been able to understand how a woman who carries and gives birth to a child and all that goes with it, could ever harm that child.

I'm with you!  In my house I would never ever have thought about doing a scintilla of the things Casey did!  It's toe the line in a truly abusive household ... and get the hell out as soon as you can.  She did neither.

My mother didn't want children.  Her mother didn't want children.  Both were too stupid to practice birth control.  My mother is so not a mothery person at all and she should have never had children.  I am surprised all of us grew up alive, LOL.  I remember her telling me once that she didn't want one of my brother's or sisters, and tried to self-abort with a coat hanger.  It didn't work.  Since I can remember, the only real thing I wanted to be in life was a mother. 

I think in the older days, birth control was so much harder to obtain, so they just got pregnant.  I don't really know.

I lost my connection, so I'm not sure what I missed, but it seemed to me that the pj's tone of voice was different when being questioned by Mason. Me thinks the pj is not fond of the defense.

Mason spoke to him as if he was an imbecile and it was obvious the pj took exception to being spoken to in that fashion...rightly so IMO....Mason can't be personable even when he tries...he pizzed jurors off before the trail even starts

Hard to believe that the DT can make Casey look any worse than she does...but, they do. Thanks for the info Sunny, figured something like that had happened.

YW.....JMO but many of the 'mitigators' AF kept harping on will surely get the juror's thinking before the trial even start..and certainly not in a positive way..it  sounds like they are making 'excuses' for her murdering Caylee  and IMO that will not go over well.  At times it seems like the defense is actually the prosecution in drag!!

i think we might see a total of 4 or 5 strikes used total between both sides out of the current 12 potential jurors.  the defense would be stupid to use all of theirs right now just to prolong things because then they would have to just accept whatever the next jurors would be unless there was a reason that the judge dismissed the juror for cause
