I lost my connection, so I'm not sure what I missed, but it seemed to me that the pj's tone of voice was different when being questioned by Mason. Me thinks the pj is not fond of the defense.

Mason spoke to him as if he was an imbecile and it was obvious the pj took exception to being spoken to in that fashion...rightly so IMO....Mason can't be personable even when he tries...he pizzed jurors off before the trail even starts
Hard to believe that the DT can make Casey look any worse than she does...but, they do. Thanks for the info Sunny, figured something like that had happened.

YW.....JMO but many of the 'mitigators' AF kept harping on will surely get the juror's thinking before the trial even start..and certainly not in a positive way..it  sounds like they are making 'excuses' for her murdering Caylee  and IMO that will not go over well.  At times it seems like the defense is actually the prosecution in drag!!

None of these are going to help Casey.
I guess she's (Finnell) just doing her job, as distasteful as it is.
I'm sure we've all been thinking about those mitigating factors as soon as we heard them, and thought....SO?
Seriously, they appear to make her look guilty.
Doing her more harm than good.

I hate to ask, but I had to work today and have graduation parties to attend this evening along with relatives from out of state to entertain....can someone please give me a brief recap of the day? TYIA

They better send the little man out to either fix or replace the DVR that I pay a monthly fee to use.....fast!

I believe they have approx 11-12 jurors so far and they will be back Monday at 8:30am for more juror questioning.  Both the prosecution and the defense can still strike jurors.  My opinion is most of those chosen so far will be good but maybe a couple will be stricken.  They have a long ways to go.

Sunny, I didn't get to hear, what exactly did Mason say to pizz the PJ off?

I don't think it was any one thing in particular....more the manner/tone he used.  As though he was talking some someone who's first language was not English or someone who only completed the first grade

#1119, male, 43. Thinks she is guilty, but can lay aside the opinion according to instructions. Has had change of heart on several issues since he came to court on Monday. Two daughters, he is married. Truck driver for boat trailer manufacturer. Sibling robbed at gunpoint several years ago.

No channelges, he is retained.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary:

12 kept so far.

Males= #1340, #1232, #1129, #1019, #1407, #1119

Females= #1398, #1312, #1055, #1319, #1251, #1429

We have 12!

Stole that from Brandi ... TY Brandi!  And I think that was the end of it.  Not many keepers today.  Casey very animated in the first hour ... and apparently back on her meds for the rest of the day as she pretty much kept the "I'm completely uninterested in this ... Doesn't anyone want to know about me?" face on.  Judge Perry says next week he'll impose the "Perry Plan" ... which he didn't explain, but kind of intimated it will be a speedier process.

Somewhat of an OT question, but I am sure Newfie is wondering the same thing.

While the jurors are sequestered, can they order Coors Light/Miller Light from room service. If I was on that jury listening to the Jar and "Pat" all day, my $30 a day would go towards ML and Ciggies

no drinking and probably no smoking in the hotel....you would be big trouble!! Monkey Devil!
No Drinking???? if Jar can have his ice tinkling cocktails shouldn't the jurors. I would make sure I went outside for a ciggie or ask for a smoking room.

sequestered...means you can't go outside without an escort and they don't have one per juror....do hotels even have smoking rooms anymore????    As far as drinking....people get loose tongued when drinking

They do have smoking rooms. Many have balconies off the rooms. They are not going to tell you that you can't have a cocktail. It is not really that bad for most people.

OT...going to have to come up with some good crock pot dinners or make things ahead for the next...oh 6-8 weeks.
Could you start a Monkey "Anthony Trial" CookThread Shell?  We're all gonna need quick dinners ... and I'm not a cook ... and why reinvent the wheel ... and all that
Oh.  And Shell? ... I'm gonna need a grocery list beforehand also ... pretty please?!  Seriously not a cook of any kind!  Ask my Mom who complains daily!

Oh that's for sure!  I'm already risking trying to keep at work as it is, but when I get off, no cooking time wasting whil watching what I can.  I have a few, if others want to add!  Who's starting the thread?
I just downloaded a free crock pot recipes book (FREE!) for my kindle today. Not sure why, as I finally do not have to cook anymore. something about me being the working wife and the hubby not so much!

Oh Peeshaw JSM!  Listen, nothing more than a cursory pat down when checking in ... that's just a little KY Derby ingeniousness I learned long ago.  Some empty saline bags filled with vodka ... or coors light ... to perk up the boobage!

Ciggy breaks ... either one of the guards smokes ... or you crack a damn window!  Yes People!  I'm that person!  The one who smokes out the window of your non-smoking room!  Dagnabit!

WOW....well OK....you sounds like you got all the tricks down pat.....I have never been a sequestered juror...so I really shouldn't have spoken at all.....sorry JSM...I was half joking with you anyway.

IMO, if there are jurors who smoke, JP will make sure they are accommodated.

They have smoking rooms in Cocoa Beach so I would think they have them in Orlando. I didn't mean going to a bar, but having a beer or two in your room in the evening. Can't get loose lips watching Home Shopping Network or ESPN (unless the Rangers are playing, then I spew four letter words)

Thank you JSM, you are a sweetie.

Samarie and Newfie, that is the difference between us and her.  I also do not believe she was physically abused in any way, maybe emotionally, and I certainly do not believe she was sexually abused.
  an angelic monkey YVW Zoo.

I don't believe she was sexually abused, mentally or physically. I think she was the mental abuser of the family even as a young child. I remember the picture of her standing by the Christmas tree, she looked deranged then and she was probably only 6 or 7 years old. Reminded me of that old move The Bad Seed. JMO JSM

I just talked to my lawyer friend who said they will allow 1-2 drinks with dinner, but not allowed to have drinks in the room. He said many hotels do have smoking rooms as Turbo said.

[I was semi beat as a child.  Parents kept a belt on the curtain rod in the kitchen so it was easily accessible, had fingers put on stove flames if we touched something we were not supposed to touch, had been lined up on wall and bent over to be beat with belt if we were not going to sleep when they sent us to sleep, and basically my parents believed in hitting. I moved out very young, maybe 15, and have not been back ever since.  I only recently started talking to my mother and my father is not with us any more.   I do not hit at all.  But, that is besides the issue.

I grew up, did not have my first child until I was maybe 32 I think, have 3 children, 14, 13 and 11, and not once in their lives have I even thought of killng any of them.

I decided at a young age, and I remember making this decision too, that I would not be like my parents, I would love my children, I would try to make something of myself and in spite of them, I would keep my hands to myself while disciplining my children and use other methods.

One further thing is that my hubby is of the old school where he believes a smack here and there is good.  I put myself in between him and my kids and have had knock down fights with him.  I have told him to keep his hands off my kids.  I have threatened to call police on him.  He no longer tries to even smack them, cause he knows I would raise heck.

But the point is, some people have hard childhoods, but they don't kill or beat their children and they move on from the cycle of abuse.  Apparently, she did not do that.

Zoo, I am so sorry you had to go through that
Me too Zoo.  And had a somewhat similar experience.  As my siblings and I say ... no one really grew up in the Brady Bunch wood paneled station wagon or the Partridge Family bus!    And yet, not a one of us has abused or murdered our children?!

I am so sorry you all had to endure such childhoods. It makes me really sad anyone has to live like that as a child. Hugs to you both.

I am one of those folks who would smoking in a nonsmoking room too.  I can imagine my charge, if I were arrested.  LOL.

I did try to smoke when I was in the hospital 2 or so years ago.  I went into the bathroom, lit it up, took 1 drag and put it out.  I was afraid some type of alarm would go off.

Another time, I was going to get a CAT scan, they wheelled me down there, I had a butt in my shirt pocket I was going to try to sneak outside and smoke, but I did not have the chance.  They would not let me go outside, said I was too sick.  Whatever.
