JP had to get a call or something when he took that first 10 minute break during the questioning of that juror..I mean he denied it when it was first brought up this morning.

I wonder what happened. What changed between denying the motion in the morning and now? Why is JP addressing the defense's jury issues again?

I do not think that there is a single person in this world that has generated such hate in me in my entire life.  The whole slew of them, tha A's, the duffense team, her, OMG, if I were an unstable person, and I lived near them, I bet I would have a hard time controlling myself.

Actually, they are different issues

It really is the same issue. the defense was objecting to the way jury selection was being handled and the fact that they could not question the other PJ. I thought it was denied and they started questioning jurors. Now JP is saying they can question the other 15.They were only questioning after they used their strikes until they got to 12. Now they can question them all without having to use a PC

Registered Sex Offender - they guy gives me the creeps so it was my guess.

I might kicked out of here for saying this but so be it. I think to hear someone's voice and decide he might be a registered sex offender with absolutely nothing to indicate that and then go on the hunt is so unfair.
I don't know anything about this man but he is attending college to become an RN and while he lacked money to buy gas yesterday, it doesn't make him a bum.  In fact, IMO, he is trying to make something of himself.

I agree that voice is not enough to go on - I was not just working with the voice. He has an attitude, he did not fill out the jury questionnaire fully, he did not want to discuss the problem with a criminal accusation in public. It was more his whole demeanor that made me think it. I know several RSO and they all behave like this guy.

But you are correct that I should not jump to conclusions and for that I apologize.

I think there's a lot the State has to consider now. Do they backstrike or issue PCs and risk moving the trial again, considering also that the county is running out of money and only has funding for a limited time so far? Or do they let the jury be seated without issuing challenges, unless it's undeniably obvious the pj can't overcome bias, and risk a hung jury?

It's almost like a Poker game....and nerve wracking!

Exactly..and both sides want a winning hand.  Fortunately Baez is running out of options..he used his strikes too early in the game.

I kind of have to agree with you, that is one reason I have been so quiet.   Obviously we are going to make judgements, but we hear such a tiny fraction of some person's life........and then it is off to the races.
