Would jury selection have to stop if she fired Byass?  I'd think Mason would just step in as lead counsel in that case ... and they could go on?  But what do I know ...

I agree with you.  Baez wasn't "really" lead attorney anyway.  If you noticed, everything he said was written on a tablet for him.  At the very beginning he had to have a death qualified attorney with him.  Mason would be up to date and not need time to catch up.  I personally think some sort of appeal has been filed.  Even I, a total novice, felt that Perry was being unfair to both sides.  My money is on an appeal.  JMO

IMHO, that would cause little to no delay due to what you mentioned.   There is no "catch up" time required with a "team" in place & two of which that are DP qualified & are familiar with the entire case.   Casey would haver had to fire the entire team for that type of delay & it would have been way obvious in that court room.
If Baez is claiming inability to continue the next couple days for whatever reason, wouldn't Mason have to file a motion on behalf of Casey to let him take over as lead attorney, at least for the next few days? And wouldn't that maybe apply to JP's comment about discussing the matter with Casey?

Maybe Baez was arrested for impersonating an attorney?

In Sessions keeps replaying the video. JP really is pizzed, IMO. I'm thinking a plea wouldn't have that effect on JP, but an appeal would.

He's pissed because it affects his rulings & with the knowledge that time is of the essence, IMHO.
I don't know CBB.  I'm thinking a plea at this late date ... wasting so much time and money ... might really pizz JP off.

I am just sick over this.  I am crying.  I don't know what is going on but I DO know that it delays Justice for Caylee.  Whether it is a plea or an appeal, it seems that we will never get to the end of this.

  don't let it upset you....it will end,  just as it is supposed to.

Thanks Sunny, it has just been SO long.  The only bright spot is that we know where Caylee is.......could Brandi or someone post the big picture of her with the wings?????

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Judge Belvin Perry ordered court to be in recess until Thursday morning after returning from lunch. A source tells WESH 2 News the sudden recess was due to the fact that defense attorney Jose Baez had fallen ill.

When Bozo made that plea to the court about him doing so much for Casey and trying to save her life blah blah. Maybe they realize they really cannot get a fair trial. Who knows it is all speculation at this point. But if it were an appeal just say it. Maybe she fired Bozo and that is why he said what he said today. Maybe she will take a plea but to what? murder I doubt it. Would the state really offer her manslaughter what else could they offer her?

Just to throw out another theory from InSessions....... maybe Casey has expressed an interest in pursuing a plea and JP gave them until tomorrow morning to work it out?

I thought there was an appeal on the table day 1 of jury selection and part of it was she HAD to tell exactly what happend to Caylee to get LWOP.  Why would an appeal be considered now?

Yeah, but why would Bozo disappear?
Maybe they revoked his license.

I don't see a successful plea being made as the jury selection process was established and agreed to months in advance.

As of right now, nothing has been filed with the courts.

~~~just read Shaeffer's opinion that Baez is ill. He does not think it is any of the things we have been speculating about here.
Hmmm, why would he get to go home to cause a half day's recess when Finnell sat there for days infecting everyone & literally holding herself up against a wall.   If that is the case, unless he went to the ER with more than a bug that's BS that they couldnt continue.
Didn't look sick to me this morning.
I didn't watch this morning, turned on the tv first and the first thing I heard was something was going on.  When they replayed JB stating to JPerry that he promised ICA he would do his best (blah,blah,blah) I really felt he was trying to make himself feel better.  Of course, my first thoughts were if he'd spent less time doing interviews, etc. that he could have done a better job (or at least appeared to).  Now, looking at this still shot, it does seem to me that something was already up and he knew it. just got back..saw the clip of JP asking if defense has had a chance to speak to Miz Anthony..
JP is pizzed! pizzed!
could be Baez got fired or else a plea..
I'm thinking Bozo got fired cause Tru TV just said the defense sat at 2 different tables today and that is not usual.  Plus, with them also saying Mason looked shaken.
The main lawyers sat at the same seats and table they have been sitting at for days.
In order: Baez, Mason, Finnell, Casey and Dorothy Sims.
they were talking about the cafeteria....usually they all sat at the same toable..today they sat at 2 different tables.
Yep and that is why Mason had to talk to Casey. Because she could say yes she would continue without him. But would he really pull that being sick crap? AF was sick she didn't get to go home. Who knows just another stall method.
