Why I think this is about a plea:

Judge makes sure the defendant is aware of the conversation.

Judge is this close to seating a jury.

Time is running out, they lose their deposit on the courtroom on Sunday (right?)

If Bozo needs to file a motion, he could have done that in 5 minutes on his puter or phone. He does not need to actually be in the county where the motion is to be filed.

Casey looks a little relieved...and then she looks like she's actually for real crying. Like a weight has been lifted, but she's still carrying a burden. She's listened for 8 days to people say she's guilty (WE KNOW SHE IS!).

To assume that Bozo is filing an appeal against the Evil Mistress of Doom and Georgey Porgy over the copyright thing....I'm sure Judge Perry would literally blow a gasket if Bozo asked to stop the proceedings for that. There's a whole team of lawyers to do the scut lifting. Besides, they all know that A) no way could the copyright have been granted this soon, and B) no way will the copyright be granted. This is the usual Scamthony smoke and mirrors. Spinderella isn't getting enough attention.

So, I think a deal is in the works. JMO

Dear God! I am listening to Nancy Grace as I clean up dinner dishes and they are saying Casey may be offered a deal of 10  years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUTRAGEOUS...............IF TRUE........

Cubbee...who is they???

BTW.... I could never work for Nancy Grace....she was very rude to the person she was telling to play the video....I would have had to tell her to freaking play it herself!

Baez Says "Private Matter" Led To Early Court Dismissal
Posted: 5:28 am EDT May 18, 2011
Updated: 4:18 pm EDT May 18, 2011

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- Judge Belvin Perry unexpectedly dismissed court on Wednesday after returning from an extended lunch recess on day 9 of Casey Anthony's murder trial.

"Mr. Mason, have you had an opportunity to discuss the matter with Ms. Anthony?" Perry asked.

"I have, Your Honor," Mason said.

"Anything you need to add?" Perry asked. "OK, this court will be in recess until 8:30 tomorrow morning."

If a plea deal was in the works ... why would the judge imply that jury selection would resume tomorrow morning?

Just thinking out loud.
Maybe the defense didn't think they'd find so many if any that would say yes to the DP....Now a change of plans?????

Janet - maybe because the deal hasn't formally been agreed to?  Not sure.

Is it possible Baez headed to Orlando to let the A's know KC would plea? I think that qualifies as a "private matter."

Don't think the judge would let the cat of the hat, till it's actually said, documented, and so on.....????

I agree Klaas - if the deal is rejected he wants to make sure that jury selection goes on. If it is accepted then he needs to have her allocate.

One question about the plea - in many states the prosecutor has to consult the victim or the victim's family - wonder if Aston called CA and GA and that is why they moved to trademark?

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I probably am, but I thought that once jury selection began that any offer made previously would then be taken off the table. And if that's the case, there can be no plea deal in the works.

you are correct.....once the jury is sworn in any pleas deal is null and void.

Wow..not in my state ..the plea was denied prior to the jury..yes that plea is off the table..however that does not stop her from requesting her attorneys to request a plea deal at anytime prior to trial.  That's the way it is in my state..and I would think anywhere...the state offers a plea..you don't have to accept..but up until the trial begins you can offer to plea..rather the state and defense can agree is another story.  But here..most plea deals aren't struck until the 11th hour before the trial itself begins and after the jury has been chosen.

GDD, I wasn't sure so I asked a defense atty in Orlando just to make sure.....I thought pleas could be made until the trail started.  here's the exact words in response to my question: if a plea deal is on the table but it is off the table once a jury is sworn in

I think they said on NG that the only deal she'd accept was 10 yrs., not that it was offered to her.

That was Leonard Padilla's opinion. Value it accordingly.

I think they said that is what was originally offered to her... I rewound it...
And yes, I know how valuable Leonards opinion is....remember he thought he could get her to talk...

Forgive me if this has already been posted. Haven’t got to read all posts. Supposedly and I can read lips a little, At the 11:25 mark on this video, JB approaches Casey and she says “Do it. I want this over with.” I see the same from reading her lips.

dee 3:41,

I just took a look at that video and at 6:05 it DOES look as if Casey is saying “Do you wanna go ahead and go for a deal?”

And then it looks as if she says, “What is this??”

Interesting!
