Caylee Marie Anthony - MURDER TRIAL - DAY 1 - 5/24/2011

One thing about GA's testimony that struck me was when he said the last time he saw Caylee, she said they were going to see Zanny, and was excited about it. If this isn't a lie (which it may be in order to help Casey) then this is damning to the defense. My reasoning is that according to both GA and CA prior testimony, Caylee never mentioned Zanny, at least not before. If Casey had finally drilled the name Zanny into Caylees mind and conversation on the last day of her life, she fully intended the child never to return. She was setting up her Zanny alibi for Caylee's disappearance (oh, she's with the nanny), and she was going to kill Caylee who would never be able to answer any questions about her visit with someone named Zanny.

See I disagree.  I think Casey had started using the name Zanny in front of Caylee so Caylee would repeat the name.  I think Caylee may have very well said it.  IMO, Casey is a sociopathic liar.  She may have told Caylee that Annie's name was Zanny. 

I don't think George is lying.

Caylee may have even been thinking 'Annie' and 'Zanny' were the same person.  Grown ups always changed words around and made them sing-songy to me when I was little if that makes sense?

One other thing that is bothering me and has since Linda began this morning.  Let me preface this by saying, I still say she did an amazing job this morning and she wants justice for Caylee as much as we do and for all of the right reasons.  I don't think she or the state of the LE rushed to judgment at all.  I think they dotted every i and crossed every t.  The problem I had with her opening statement was her lack of visuals.  The defense had visual after visual along with Baez's stupid white board and markers.  Where were the pictures of Caylee?  I know someone tweeted that they showed one picture of Caylee along side of a picture of her precious remains.  Why not have picture after picture of her?  Why not have the time line and the party pictures up front and personal for all of the jurors.  I just don't understand why it was all spoken word, no matter how well it was done.  They knew that the defense was going to go after Dr. Vass, why didn't they let the jury know what an amazing man he was?  I know that hindsight is 20/20 but could they really not see Baez having a Perry Mason moment?  I have been afraid of it for a long time.  How does the saying go, "when you have the law on your side, use the law but when you have nothing, use everything?"  That is exactly what Baez did and now the state has to live every accusation Baez threw out there. 

Where did he come up with the Dr. Vass finding bodies with coat hangers?  I have yet to read or hear of that anywhere.

If opening statements were meant to be no holds barred, why did Linda not use the same tactics?  Don't mean to sound harsh to Linda, just feeling very afraid at the moment.  I am never watching JVM again.  I usually stick to that rule but so many others were watching her, I gave in and did it too.  I have learned my lesson.

Don't worry Magic Eyes!  I have a feeling that the prosecution knows when to hold, fold, walk away, and run with this case.  We only touched the tip of the iceberg today.  The prosecution may be timing these photos so they pack more of a wallop instead of all at once?  Either way, I am feeling like we are just getting started...we'll see lots of pics

I am so sad I missed the trial live - my stupid phone would not cooperate!  I am watching it now on insessions. My hubs was surprised they claimed Caylee died by accident and ICA hid it. I was not surprised at all.

I downloaded the Skyfire video ap onto my Android $2.99, then went to this website

Shari, thank you for keeping me hopeful, I just keep wavering.  I want justice for Caylee so badly and what I feel for Casey, I can't even put into words.  Watching JVM was a very bad thing for me but watching Nancy Grace, seemed to help.  I am also afraid of feeling sorry for George but for once, I really feel like he is telling the truth but is it just too late?  Don't know how I will sleep tonight.....my heart is still pounding.

Could he have been more crass?  really..he was going for shocking..he ended up sounding like the town ho.  He simply could have said she performed oral sex on him..but he had to do it that way..it just shows even more to me that he is a foolish media whore and his client is a whore..no self respecting woman who was in that situation would have wanted it described in such disgusting terms in open court....but then he and his client have no class, self respect or morals.

Magiceyes, I didnt want to make a huge stack but I believe they were showing pictures for the people in the courtroom. They showed the last known pic of Caylee and right next to it the closeup pic of her skull in the woods. I would interested to know which other pics they showed. ( we didnt get to see them )
