Sorry Caylee, the jury took your day away.

First, sorry to all the mommies wtih water incidents.  I myself hate the water.  We have a local pool we go to and my kids are 13, 12, and almost 11, and the 2 older ones constantly bug me to go in the deep end.  I cannot watch all 3 scattered about, so I tell them no, and we all stay in the up to 4 feet one.  The other one I cannot reach, but I am the worst mom to them takign away all their fun and MOM, THEY HAVE LIFEGUARDS.  These lifguards are tweens.  You think they care about my kids swimming in the deep end?  Hubby says I worry too much.  This is just something no matter how many times I try to relax, and say oh they are getting older, I cannot let them do it.  It is like leaving the bathtub full of water when I go to bed.  I just cannot do it.

Secondly,  I think it was kittymom that asked if Bozo can just ask Geroge if he has ever been arrested and then produce his arrest records.  I don't believe he can do that.  Just like the state cannot, if they got new evidence now, like I don't know another murder charge or manslaughter years ago in some other state, etc., they cannot just present that w/o motioning the judge and the judge allowing it.  I believe, if it is not in evidence now (and we have not seen that in evidence), HE cannot present it, no matter how many hissy fits he has, unless there is a motion filed, and the judge allows it, and before that would happen (liek with the new witness he wants to testify for the penalthy phase), the state has to depose them first, and then they will come back and the judge will decide if he can use them.

I am not a lawyer, so not positive, but pretty darn sure.

And wanted to add, that I think Bozo can say whatever he wants in Closing arguments, much like he did in opening statements, but I do not believe that is evidence, and he will not be able to question George like he is giving testimony.  And, the state gets a rebuttal, not sure if the defense does too, but I think I read that the state has the burden of proof and that is why they get a rebuttal.

I used HLN on TV so I can do work around the house, but when the commercials come on I switch to my computer with the Orlando TV station streaming. Carpe. thanks. I have an older iBook G4 so will see if I can hook it to the TV. The computer has a small place for the smaller end of a monitor cable and an earphone jack place. Any ideas how to do this? I am only familiar with RCA cables.

Hi IBE!

I'm going to give you my best guess with the info that you gave me. If you have a newer model tv it will be easier.

You will need -

1. mini vga to vga adapter

2. vga video extension cord

3. 1/4 inch headphone/earphone extension cable
---------

from g4 laptop - hook mini vga adapter

from mini vga - hook that to vga extension cable

hook vga extension cable into adapter on the back of the television

-audio-

hook 1/4 inch cable from g4 and run it into the 1/4 inch audio jack on the back of the television

Carpe - I just wanted to Thank You!  You may have saved my marriage...lol!  And major bonus is I get to watch all the action on the big screen with no interruptions.  So Thank You, Thank You Very Much!

Shy-Monkey~

I'm glad things worked out for you.  You did the right thing.

Our situation was a little different.

We live in a small town, our local Wal-Mart is the "hangout" of the teenagers.
One day my son and I are in the automotive section trying to figure out what we needed.  My 13, 14 and 16yr old daughters are in electronics.  No problem, this is normal.
All of a sudden I get a phone call from an officer I used to work with asking me to come to security.
Once I get there, I see all 3 of my daughters sitting and boo-hooing.  They had just been caught shoplifting.  All three, in one fell swoop.
Totally humiliated, I asked them "Did you do this" and they all said "Yes".  End of story.

They received 6 months probation and 40 hours community service and they had to write an essay.  Every Saturday, I had to drive them to community service and had to take them to probation.  Since these girls had never been in trouble previously and completed the conditions of their probation, they were let off after 4 months.

One week before my now 17 year old will turn 18, the last day of school, her and one of her girlfriends decide to cut out of school and go to Wal-Mart.  The girl she is with is looking at bathing suits, my daughter doesn't think much of it because this girl has a job and has money. The girl decides to shove the bathing suit into her pants.  My daughter tells her they are going to get caught but the girl ignores her.  She should have walked away.  Instead they go to leave, and they get caught by security.  Even though my daughter has nothing on her, they are both arrested.

I then get a phone call from my hysterical daughter, the jail numbered is programed in my phone for work, so I know where the call is coming from before I answer it.  My daughter tells me she is in the jail and I asked her "What for?" and she said "Shoplifting".  Before asking any details, the thoughts of me having to drive my daughters back and forth to probation, to community service come racing back into my mind- when I was the one really on probation those 4 months and had to give up MY Saturdays for them-and I told my daughter "Good, now stay in there" and hung up on her.

She spent the night in jail, her friend bonded out.

I bonded her out the following night.  We had a few more adolescent issues, (nothing legal) but she had to find her own way to probation and pay off her own fines.

We've never had a problem since.

She works full time, pays for her own schooling and purchased her first car by herself.

I'm proud of the woman she's become.

Here's my summary of today's proceedings:
Baez: yada yada
State: Objection
JP: Sustained.
Baez: Answer the question.
Witness: I have.
State: Objection.
JP: Sustained; question was answered.
Baez: You're 'tupid and I are smart.
Witness: I don't think I understand what you mean.

Rinse and repeat.

I wasn't sure if I should put this in the Trial thread for Casey. So am putting in here. It's a long read but very interesting. Pretty much confirms everything we have all thought and said about Casey.

Not yet, but CNN has a beautiful American flag waving.

Today is Flag Day!

Oh is it.  I swore Flag Day was on June 14th, cause my Aunt's birthday that day and each year we were told her bday falls on Flag day.
