PALMDALE -- A Lancaster woman who went missing over the weekend was found dead in the trunk of her car in Palmdale Wednesday night, according to family members.

The vehicle, a 2009 black Kia Spectra with paper plates, was found in the parking lot of a gated apartment complex in the 2500 block of Olive Drive around 6:20 p.m., sheriff's homicide detectives said.

Arriving detectives found flies and blood stains all over the car.

A woman at the scene told news crews that the victim was her sister, 20-year-old Lisa Marie Bromley, of Lancaster, who was reported missing Saturday evening.

Bromley left the Palmdale home of a friend that evening and was not heard from after. She was driving a vehicle matching the description of the Kia found Wednesday.

Witnesses told authorities that the car had been moved to different parking spots in recent days.

Investigators say the woman's body had been inside the car for at least a couple of days.

Sheriff's detectives have not yet confirmed the identity of the victim.
