Father says he always wanted to see missing girl

By SUDHIN THANAWALA, Associated Press Writer
Saturday, March 6, 2010

A San Francisco Bay area man whose daughter was discovered 15 years after she was allegedly abducted by her mother says he is hopeful he will soon be reunited with the girl.

"The years that we've missed each other are irreplaceable," Dean Click said Saturday about his daughter, Jessica Click-Hill, who is now 22. "It would be wonderful to go forward from here and be father and daughter."

Missing Woman Has No Interest in Reuniting With Father After 14 Years
Now 22, Jessica Click-Hill 'Adamant' About Not Meeting Father

After a 14-year search for his daughter, Dean Click finally knows that she is alive and safe. That her mother, Wendy Hill, is the sole suspect in their daughter's alleged abduction came as little surprise to Click.

The California woman who was found last week after going missing 14 years ago at age 8 has no interest in reuniting with her father, police said today.

"Jessica is very adamant about not seeing him," Walnut Creek, Calif., police Det. Shawn Wallace said of the woman known as Jessica Click-Hill, 22.

Wallace, whom Dean Click credited with helping find his daughter, was the first to interview the young woman.

Click-Hill was found last week after her mother, Wendy Hill, allegedly abducted her 14 years ago after a divorce and custody battle with Click.

Charges have yet to be filed against suspect Hill, who could not be reached for comment. The Contra Costa Sheriff's Office confirmed that Hill, who is out on bail, was arrested for Deprivation of Custody of a Child. Final charges are undetermined.

At 22 she knows her own mind, but there is a lot of brain-washing that can go into 14 years.  I just hope she is comfortable with her decision.
