HOUSTON —
Authorities are searching for a missing 25-year-old Louisiana man last seen leaving New Orleans to come to a Houston Rockets basketball game.
Thomas B. Hartwell left home Dec. 6 and has not been heard from since that morning. He missed a rendezvous with friends in Houston to see the Rockets Tuesday night.

Hartwell has not made contact with anyone and there has been no credit or debit card activity on his account since early Monday.

Officials are concerned for his safety because he has a serious heart condition called aortic valve stenosis.

Hartwell is white, 6 feet 3 inches tall, 170 lbs with short brown hair, blue eyes and long white scar down the middle of his chest from open heart surgery.

He drives a two-door, green 1999 Jeep Cherokee with a Louisiana "Save Black Bear" license plate, number BB0-5521.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Hartwell or his vehicle is urged to call (504) 821-2222.

Family pleads for help finding man who disappeared on road trip to Houston

HOUSTON—Texas EquuSearch has joined the effort to locate a missing 25-year-old man from New Orleans.

Thomas Hartwell left New Orleans on December 6 to meet up with friends in Houston for a Rockets game, but he never made it.

Hartwell was driving a green, two-door Jeep Cherokee with Louisiana "Black Bear" license plate No. BB05521.

EquuSearch said Hartwell suffers from a heart condition, and he does not have his cell phone with him.

His family has come to Texas from Maine to aid in the search. They’re asking anyone with information on Hartwell’s whereabouts to call Texas EquuSearch at 281-309-9500 or the New Orleans Police Department at 504-658-6020.

UPDATE: Thomas Hartwell Located


NEW ORLEANS —
25-year-old Thomas Hartwell has been located. According to the family, he was found intoxicated in Mexico but safe. There was no suspicion of foul play.

Originally, the New Orleans Police Department was asking for the public's help in locating him. Hartwell was last seen by his girlfriend on Monday, December 6th leaving home in the 5200 block of Annunciation Street for a trip to Houston, Texas.

According to Hartwell's girlfriend, he left around 8a.m. in his 1999 green Jeep Cherokee, license plate reading: BB05521. His girlfriend spoke to Hartwell's friends he was supposed to meet and they said he never arrived or called them.
