Orlando, FL– 27 year old Tracy E. Ocasio has been missing since leaving the Taproom Bar in Orlando at approximately 1:30am Wednesday.


Tracy, who resides on New Victor Rd, Ocoee, left the bar at “last call” and her car was found abandoned on Frankin Street in Ocoee. The homeowners on the property where the vehicle was found called Police saying there was a car parked there that did not belong to them.

Elizabeth Ocasio, Tracy’s Mother, is frantic:

“She’s missing. Nobody has seen her or heard from her,” said Ocasio.

“She goes there every Magic game, and she cheers for the Magic, and afterward, she texts everybody she knows and says, ‘Go Magic.’ Apparently, that didn’t happen after this game.”

“I honestly don’t think she would be going on her own. She was so involved in cheering for the Magic. She would definitely want to see the game tonight (Thursday).”

 Orlando police will not comment if they consider Ocasio's disappearance  suspicious or if she is in danger. But they ask anyone who has seen her to call police at 321-235-5300.[/b]

Ocasio is 5-foot-6, weighs 124 lbs., has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, jeans, a green and white hat, and a black hooded jacket.

Ocoee police Officer Lee Stephens confirmed his agency is the primary department investigating, and said detectives are "diligently" working the matter.

Stephens said no other details are being released publicly at this point.

Nut, not to answer for Edward, but Edward has done EXTENSIVE research on immigration/ illegal issues and subsequent crime, I believe he was just drawing a paralell.

To add, NOWHERE should women/girls leave a bar by themselves, ever. I am of the opinion they dont belong in one by themselves, but I realize that is not very contemporary. However, no one can argue it is the safe choice.

By way of an update, there is a OPD substation in this same location of the Taproom bar. There is surveillance of Tracy leaving the bar with a man whom police have questioned. This is entirely too quiet for me. A jurisdiction with a bit of egg on their face in a variety of cases needs to rethink the way they operate. Everybody knows I am pro LE, 100%, until your tactics give me pause. One word: Jenn.

Edward, here is  link to a book a Canadian journalist wrote on the human trafficking trade out of Europe.FYI, I didn't know where else to put it. You might be interested in this. Victor was at the church recently ( Ukrainian ) where the congregation members have close ties to Europe and he spoke of this one evening.

A great deal of abductions happen for women while alone in America doing such things as jogging alone, driving late at night alone, walking on beaches alone, going to and from bars/clubs alone even just going shopping alone..
 
Florida has a high rate of such things happening as does major cities throughout America.

I just think American woman need to take a moment and consider this.

I watch women jogging alone all the time.. I live far out in the country.. They are venerable to attack. Last year there were various parking lot abductions in the news.

Police are searching for a 27-year-old Florida woman who was last seen leaving an Orlando bar early Tuesday morning.

Police reviewed a surveillance video that showed Tracy Ocasio leaving the Florida Tap Room with an unidentified man around 1 a.m., MyFOXOrlando.com reported.

Ocasio's car was reportedly found abandoned in Ocoee, which is about 15 miles from the bar where she was last seen.

Officers would not release the name of the man who left with Ocasio or say if he is a suspect in the case, according to the station.

Friends and family of Ocasio stepped up search efforts on Sunday -- distributing more than 500 fliers with the woman's information.

Ocasio's parents said they plan to request their daughter's cell phone records with the hope of finding new leads.

OCOEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A person of interest has been arrested in the case of missing Ocoee woman, Tracy Ocasio. Tracy was last seen on the morning of May 27, around 1 a.m., leaving the Florida Tap Room in MetroWest, after celebrating a winning Magic game. Surveillance video shows Tracy leaving the bar with a man named James Hataway.

On Monday, around 7 p.m., investigators searched Hataway's home on Lyle Street in Ocoee. It's a block away from where Tracy's Chevy Colbalt was discovered. They say Hataway told them Tracy gave him a ride home. However, what happened after that remains a mystery.

Officers say Tracy's wallet, keys and cellphone were missing from her car. They searched Hataway's home, but found only drug paraphernalia, for which he was arrested.

According to Sgt. Mike Bryant, there were no signs that Tracy was there. "We had cadaver dogs search this property as a precaution. Nothing at the house indicated she had been there."

Investigators say it's all suspicious. "He was cooperative to the point where she came to his house and left from there. When we got a little more into the questioning, he decided not to cooperate any more."

 

"I'm innocent," said Hataway, as he was escorted by Ocoee Police officers from a patrol car to the Orange County Jail. "She left," when asked where she went after they were last seen together. "I hung out with my father," he added. "We just hung out. She gave me a ride home."

"I think he knows more than he is saying," said Elizabeth Ocasio, Tracy's mother. "They had a warrant to search the house, because he was the last person seen with her," said father Joe Ocasio. "If he was not involved, then let it be. It is ironic that her car was parked only a block from where he (Hataway) lives."

An Orange County judge ruled this morning that James Virgil Hataway, questioned in connection with the case of missing Ocoee resident Tracy Ocasio, will remain in jail.

While determining his bail, Judge Heather Higbee questioned Hataway's prior juvenile conviction of kidnapping and bodily injury out of Hillsborough County.

"Prior history with traffic charges is one thing, but prior history with kidnapping charges is a different thing entirely," Higbee told Hataway's public defender.

She placed a $500 bond on the drug-related charges that landed Hataway at the Orange County Jail on Monday. However, Higbee said he must remain in jail because he already was out on bond in a different case.

Court records show Hataway had been arrested in April on criminal mischief charges.

Investigators said Ocasio, 27, was last seen leaving the Taproom bar on Raleigh Street in the MetroWest neighborhood at about 1:30 a.m. May 26. She had just left a Magic game, reports show.

Police this morning searched a dirt lot in the area of West Franklin Street in Ocoee after they arrested Hataway as a person of interest in the case.

"He is not a suspect in this case, but a person of interest because he was the last one to see her," Detective Mark Olson of Ocoee Police Department.

Olson said they had searched that area before, but brought in K-9 dogs this morning to sniff out anything detectives might have overlooked.

"We wanted to rule out the area where we found her car," Olson said. "We found nothing."

Police said Hataway, of Ocoee, had met Ocasio at the Taproom almost two weeks before she disappeared.

Hataway told police he had taken Ocasio home after the bar, but the missing woman's cell phone records show she was in the area of West Franklin Street later that morning. Records show Hataway lives near that area.

"When we checked for the cell phone records, cell phone towers still indicated that she was in the area of his house by 8:30 in the morning," Sgt. Mike Bryant of the Ocoee Police Department said. "So that part of his story doesn't quite add up."

Investigators later found her vehicle abandoned on a dirt parking lot on West Franklin Street.

Police spokesman Ofc. Bill Richardson said drugs were found at Hataway's home at the time of his arrest.

The missing woman's mother, Elizabeth Ocasio, fears the worst has happened to her daughter.

"I'm beginning to think that something serious might have happened to her," Elizabeth Ocasio said in a televised interview.

Olson said the family has been living in Ocoee since 1989.

Court records show Hataway has been behind bars in the past. His latest arrest was in April on charges of criminal mischief. He also had been arrested twice in 1998 on burglary charges, but adjudication was withheld.

OCOEE, Fla. -- A Seminole County woman who did not want to be identified said with the man authorities say was the last to see a missing 27-year-old woman tried to kill her.


Tracy Ocasio was last seen May 27. 
 
There is security footage from the Florida Tap Room Bar that shows Tracy Ocasio leaving the establishment with a man around 1 a.m. last Tuesday.

Investigators believe the man seen on that tape with the missing woman is 28-year-old James Hataway.

A Seminole County woman said she gave Hataway a ride home from a house party about a year ago, and that when she hugged him goodbye in front of his house, he tried to break her neck.

"He tried to start breaking my neck, I slipped out of it," she said. "He started strangling me. I got out of my car and I started running down the streets. I ended up slipping and falling, that's why I have these scares, right here. I have them on my knees. He came up behind me. He started slamming my head down on the sidewalk. I started screaming. And then he took his hand and took both fingers and put them in my mouth and tried to snap my neck again. And I'm screaming, 'Somebody please help me. He's going to kill me.' He ended up picking m up, he had his hands around my throat and two people walked outside, thank God, and saved my life."

She said misdemeanor battery charges were filed against Hataway in Seminole County, but that police were unable to find him.

Ocasio reportedly gave Hataway a ride home.

Ocasio's car was found abandoned in Ocoee, about 15 miles from the bar where she was last seen. The car was found not far from Hataways' home.

Friends and family of Ocasio stepped up search efforts on Sunday, handing out more than 500 fliers with the woman's information.

"It's been nothing but silence from Tracy, and there is one thing Tracy is not, it's silent," Tracy Ocasio's mother Liz Ocasio said.

Taryn Anthony, Ocasio's friend, is passing out fliers, vowing not to give up.

Ocasio's parents said they plan to request their daughter's cell phone records with the hope of finding new leads.

Police arrested Hataway Monday night on drug charges not related to the missing persons investigation. Ocoee police call Hataway a person of interest in the case.

Hataway had his initial appearance Tuesday where a judge issued him a public defender and ordered him to be held under no bond.

Tracy Ocasio could make new friends anywhere.

When she visited South Florida beaches as a child with her mother, she often would point out a family with children and tell her mother that they were friends and she wanted to sit next to them.

After Elizabeth Ocasio sat near the other family, she would discover that her elementary-school-age daughter didn't know anyone in the family at all.

"She saw a kid her age over there and just knew that kid would be her friend," said Elizabeth Ocasio.

Ocasio, 27, has been missing since May 26, when she disappeared after watching an Orlando Magic playoff game with friends at Taproom, a bar in Orlando's MetroWest neighborhood.

On Monday, Ocoee police named James Virgil Hataway, 28, as a person of interest in the case. He is currently in the Orange County Jail on drug-related charges. On Tuesday, Judge Heather Higbee, who also questioned Hataway's juvenile conviction on kidnapping and bodily injury charges, ruled that he had to remain in jail because he was out on bond in a different case.

A Seminole County woman also came forward Tuesday to tell Ocoee investigators that Hataway had attacked her nearly a year ago when she gave him a ride from a Casselberry bar.

Hataway, who told investigators that he had met Ocasio at Taproom about two weeks before her disappearance, said he had given her a ride home, but cell phone records indicate that she was in the area of West Franklin Street in Ocoee, near where he lives, as late as 8:30 that morning. Ocasio's car was found at a vacant lot on West Franklin near Hataway's home.

Her parents doubt she would've left her car there voluntarily -- especially at night.

"She was afraid of the dark," said her father, Joe Ocasio. "There's no way she would've been there by herself, with no lights, no streetlights."

The Ocasios have distributed hundreds of fliers and are desperately searching for the daughter they describe as "outgoing" and "the spark of the party."

She attended high school in Fredericksburg, Va., and moved with her family to Central Florida in 1998. During the past 10 years, she worked a series of restaurant and retail jobs, including positions as a Denny's waitress and sales jobs at arts-and-crafts store Michaels, a pet store and Ross Dress for Less.

In recent months, inspired by the example of her brother, Valencia Community College student Joey, 18, Ocasio had spoken of going to school, possibly to study radiology -- not an unusual choice for the gregarious young woman with eclectic tastes, said her parents.

She kept two lizards, two scorpions and a cat named Cookie as pets, and for Christmas, she'd asked for books about World War II aircraft and ancient Rome's caesars.

Her interest in radiology was sparked after her father spent time in the hospital.

With a trembling voice, Elizabeth Ocasio said she last had spoken with her daughter just before the Magic game started, when she called to find out whether Ocasio would come home that night or spend the night with friends.

Ocasio said she would return that night to the home she shared with her parents.

OCOEE -- Orlando police say they have new developments in the case of an Ocoee woman who has been missing for days. 

Police say more people are coming forward, not with information about where Tracy Ocasio may be, but about the person of interest who is in custody.

On Tuesday, a woman came forward and said she was attacked by James Hataway.

Hataway was denied bond Tuesday morning on an unrelated drug charge.

Police said he was the last person to see Ocasio when she dropped him off at his home last week.

Now a woman, who does not want to be identified, said a little less than a year ago she was attacked by Hataway.

"I knew him for a while and we ended up going to an after party and some things happened and I ended up taking him home. We got in front of his house, I didn't pull in the driveway, I leaned over to give him a hug and say goodbye because I knew him and he wouldn't let go of me. He tried to start breaking my neck, I slipped out of it and he started strangling me. I got out of my car and I started running down the streets. OCOEE, Fla. -- A man, who was initially called a person of interest by police in a missing woman case, has been named the prime suspect in her disappearance.

Ocoee police arrested James Hataway late Monday night, who they say was the last person to see missing 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio.

Hataway was booked (read booking history) into the Orange County Jail on drug paraphernalia charges and appeared before a judge for a bond hearing Tuesday morning.

Judge Heather Higbee revoked Hataway's bond on an earlier case of criminal mischief and he is being held on no Bond. However, a bond of $500 was granted on a current misdemeanor charge, but Hataway remains in jail.

Ocoee police say James Hataway is being investigated for five possible cases, two missing persons and three assaults. He has been named a suspect in the Ocasio case and a person of interest in the others.

Crimline increased its reward to $5,000 Wednesday. The Ocoee Police Department says it has received several tips from Crimeline.

Detectives searched a wooded area Wednesday morning to follow up on leads, but so far they haven't been able to find anything.

James Hataway is being held without bond on drug charges, but detectives are looking to see what connection he may have to Tracy Ocasio's disappearance.

The 27-year-old was last seen on Wednesday May 27, watching a Magic game at an Orlando bar. Police believe Hataway was the last person to see Ocasio.

There are people coming forward that claim to have been victims of Hataway. One woman in Seminole County said Hataway attacked her. She was friends with him and about one year ago, under similar circumstances to the present case, she drove him home and leaned over to give him a hug. However, James Hataway then went straight for her neck.

The woman managed to get out of the vehicle, but he chased her and he tried to snap her neck. She said had it not been for two people who saw the struggle; she may not have lived through the incident.

She told officers that Hataway was living in Casselberry at the time, but moved shortly after the incident.The woman's friend called her and told her that James was in jail and to call Ocoee police.

Apopka police say James Hataway is connected to a February case, which involves the disappearance of his friend George Onda.

Suspect In Missing Woman Case May Be Tied To 5 Others

OCOEE, Fla. -- Eyewitness News learned that one more person has come forward Wednesday, claiming James Hataway attacked her.

Ocoee police arrested James Hataway (read booking history) late Monday night, who they say was the last person to see missing 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio on May 27 after a Magic game. He has been named the prime suspect in her disappearance.

Ocoee police have linked a total of six possible victims to James Hataway, including Ocasio.

The sixth alleged victim came forward Wednesday and told investigators she had been roughed up by him.

"This Jimmy has a preponderance to do violence, he snaps, he gets angry, it's always a woman, ride home, end up alone," said Sgt. Mike Bryant, Ocoee Police Department.

A Casselberry woman told Eyewitness News Tuesday that Hataway tried to kill her last August. Ocoee wants Seminole County investigators to increase the charges in that case from battery to at least aggravated battery or attempted murder.

"We're hoping Seminole County will step up their charges to keep Jimmy in jail while we continue to look for Tracey," said Sgt. Bryant.

As days go by and more of James Hataway's past comes out, Ocasio's parents are in disbelief that he was ever on the streets.

"Incredible that he's involved in so many suspicious disappearances," said Joe Ocasio, Tracy's Father.

Ocoee police say they are getting dozens of leads and looking for more possible victims. They do know Hataway worked clearing shore lines and dumping debris illegally.

"He's very familiar with going out into open land at night and not getting caught dumping land debris and waste, that's a concern oh yeah," said Bryant.

Eyewitness News learned more about James Hataway. The 28-year-old lived with his father in Ocoee. He also worked with his father dredging ponds.

From 1993 to 1998, Hataway was in and out of juvenile hall. He has an extensive record of drugs, DUI and traffic violations.

Crime line has put up a $5,000 reward for information that leads to Tracy Ocasio's whereabouts. Police have Ocasio's car and they are going through it, looking for clues.

SUSPECT'S MOTHER TALKS TO WFTV

Donna Hataway is James' mother. She told Eyewitness News Wednesday that she's lost touch with her son over the years. Donna says she spent a lot of time with him in juvenile court, but hoped that he would turn his life around.

Donna said James was soft spoken. Donna, who is hearing impaired, says she heard about her son James' most recent trouble on the news.

For a while, Donna says she was living on the streets and just moved back to town about two years ago.

"Do you think he's capable of hurting, possibly murdering people?" asked WFTV reporter Kathi Belich.

"No I don't think so, because I tried to bring him up the right way," she replied.

Donna says she's worried and admits he was a troubled child with a serious juvenile criminal record, which sent him to a boot camp program.

"He improved, he improved and started to get straightened up and thought about what he did," she said.

Donna said he dropped out of high school, but did get his G.E.D. and said he does construction work and also worked at Perkins and Starbucks.

Donna blames his problems on drugs and says even though she hasn't seen him for years; she'd like to visit him in jail.

"I would say that, 'I love you no matter what good or bad. You'll always be my son,'" said Donna.

She says she doesn't know anything about the disappearances and assaults that have police focused on her son.


POLICE BELIEVE SUSPECT IS TIED TO MAN'S DISAPPEARANCE

As more people hear about the case, it's becoming an eerie game of six degrees of separation and James Hataway is in the middle.

Eyewitness News learned that Hataway was one of two people, who last saw a missing Apopka man.

Apopka police say they want to talk to one of Hataway's friends who may have more information about the missing Apopka man.

In February Chris George's car was found abandoned in a wooded area in Apopka. Initially, family and friends didn't take it seriously. They looked for George, who also goes by the name George Onda, and didn't find him, but assumed he didn't want to be found.

They thought the 29-year-old took off and went on a drug-induced binge. It was not uncommon for him to disappear for two to three weeks and then come home.

Jams Hathaway helped with the search for his friend. He was one of the last people to see George and told police that George may have been on hallucinogens.

Apopka police initially closed out the case, but now that James Hataway maybe involved in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance, detectives have reopened the case.

Authorities are in the process of re-interviewing all of George's friends, but they are still trying to locate one friend who is considered a person of interest.

Investigators say Hataway and that person of interest were the last people to see George before he disappeared.

Apopka police investigators say they did not consider George an endangered missing person based on what friends and family members told authorities at the time.

He is violent..He comes out of knowhere when he attacks, until then he is quiet..
He uses the car and puts it in another location..
You do not find the body easy.. They may not find this girl easy and the other guy has not been found..So he is well planned out and executed.. He thinks about what he is going to do before he does it..

I was thinking the same, Edward. I recall the vid and the guy did have a distinctive walk. If I recall correctly there was information released about the height, approx weight, I'll see if I can find it tomorrow. But it sure isn't looking good for Tracy.

Didn't he do construction work off and on as well and there was construction going on in Jennifer's complex.  I am not sure how far it is from where she worked and where she lived, but possible connection given the factors and the possible time she went missing?  Def. worth checking where he was during that time frame.

my memaw lived on story road there in winter garden, so I know, that is a deep lake..
the lake to the right of Starke lake, held stories when I was a kid, it was full of snakes, and had rumored bodies being buried there.

Last time I was there, the area had grown, with many new houses. Also, there are a few old orange processing plants there by the railroad track....

I am making a call to a friend of mine today with whom I worked on mapping on one of the searches for Jenn this past Fall.
I can tell you this area was not considered in that endeavor, however, one of my main issues was that I felt we were more focused on her home than work area.

At this point, I dont see a single tie in from Hataway to Jenn's case. That said, I do for reasons Im not sure of, belive the case of Tracy Ocasio will bring leads in Jenn's. I pray for that.

Detectives Find Possible Link To Jennifer Kesse Case

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse has haunted her parents and detectives for more than three years.

Investigators are taking a close look at James Hataway who is a prime suspect in the disappearance of Tracy Ocasio. Hataway may be linked to as many as six cases in the area including 27-year-old Ocasio who disappeared last week on May 27.

Eyewitness News talked to the Kesses and Orlando detectives, looking into the Ocasio case. Jennifer's parents think there are similarities in the cases.

They say Jennifer worked in Ocoee where Hataway lives and she also frequented Metro West where Tracy Ocasio was last seen alive.

James Hataway, 28, who is the focus of investigators in two disappearances and possibly four assaults, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and police say he could be the man who was captured by a surveillance camera walking away from Jennifer Kesse's car three and a half years ago.

The suspect seen on this surveillance video was estimated to be inches shorter, but that's not stopping Orlando Police Department's full-time Kesse detective from investigating a possible connection.

"I would say there's some leeway there 5'5 to 5'11. We're not going to be held to these measurements. Our person could be taller than 5'5," said Orlando Detective Joel Wright.

Drew and Joyce Kesse had already planned to meet with Orlando police Thursday, before they ever heard Hataway's name. However, they said they are focused on figuring out a possible connection.

Jennifer used to go to the Tap Room in Metro West, where police believe Ocasio was last seen alive with Hataway.

"That is Jennifer's old neighborhood. She lived next door to the Tap Room there," said Drew Kesse.

"She worked in Ocoee for four years," said Joyce Kesse.

Hataway has willingly given Ocoee detectives a DNA sample. He admits to being in Tracy Ocasio's car, but says it was long before she disappeared.

If investigators find Tracy, his DNA would be very helpful in figuring out whether he was involved in her disappearance.

Orlando police don't believe they have enough of a DNA sample in the Kesse case to get any match.

"We've had ups and downs before," said Joyce.

Ocoee police are getting help from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in the case. They are using sonar to search areas that are known dumping grounds and are planning to use dive team to aide in the search.

The mother of James Virgil Hataway, the person of interest in the disappearance of an Ocoee woman, told WFTV she hasn't talked to her son lately.

Donna Hataway also told the station her son was sent to a boot camp and obtained his GED. But she said she hasn't seen him in many years and doesn't know anything about the current case.

Earlier this week, an Orange County Judge questioned Hataway's prior juvenile conviction of kidnapping and bodily injury out of Hillsborough County.

Suspect In Missing Woman Case May Be Tied To 5 Others

OCOEE, Fla. -- Eyewitness News learned that one more person has come forward Wednesday, claiming James Hataway attacked her.

Ocoee police arrested James Hataway (read booking history) late Monday night, who they say was the last person to see missing 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio on May 27 after a Magic game. He has been named the prime suspect in her disappearance.

Ocoee police have linked a total of six possible victims to James Hataway, including Ocasio.

The sixth alleged victim came forward Wednesday and told investigators she had been roughed up by him.

"This Jimmy has a preponderance to do violence, he snaps, he gets angry, it's always a woman, ride home, end up alone," said Sgt. Mike Bryant, Ocoee Police Department.

A Casselberry woman told Eyewitness News Tuesday that Hataway tried to kill her last August. Ocoee wants Seminole County investigators to increase the charges in that case from battery to at least aggravated battery or attempted murder.

"We're hoping Seminole County will step up their charges to keep Jimmy in jail while we continue to look for Tracey," said Sgt. Bryant.

As days go by and more of James Hataway's past comes out, Ocasio's parents are in disbelief that he was ever on the streets.

"Incredible that he's involved in so many suspicious disappearances," said Joe Ocasio, Tracy's Father.

Ocoee police say they are getting dozens of leads and looking for more possible victims. They do know Hataway worked clearing shore lines and dumping debris illegally.

"He's very familiar with going out into open land at night and not getting caught dumping land debris and waste, that's a concern oh yeah," said Bryant.

Eyewitness News learned more about James Hataway. The 28-year-old lived with his father in Ocoee. He also worked with his father dredging ponds.

From 1993 to 1998, Hataway was in and out of juvenile hall. He has an extensive record of drugs, DUI and traffic violations.

Crime line has put up a $5,000 reward for information that leads to Tracy Ocasio's whereabouts. Police have Ocasio's car and they are going through it, looking for clues.

At a hearing Tuesday, Judge Heather Higbee revoked Hataway's bond on an earlier case of criminal mischief and he is being held on no Bond. However, a bond of $500 was granted on a current misdemeanor charge, but Hataway remains in the Orange County jail.


SUSPECT'S MOTHER TALKS TO WFTV

Donna Hataway is James' mother. She told Eyewitness News Wednesday that she's lost touch with her son over the years. Donna says she spent a lot of time with him in juvenile court, but hoped that he would turn his life around.

Donna said James was soft spoken. Donna, who is hearing impaired, says she heard about her son James' most recent trouble on the news.

For a while, Donna says she was living on the streets and just moved back to town about two years ago.

"Do you think he's capable of hurting, possibly murdering people?" asked WFTV reporter Kathi Belich.

"No I don't think so, because I tried to bring him up the right way," she replied.

Donna says she's worried and admits he was a troubled child with a serious juvenile criminal record, which sent him to a boot camp program.

"He improved, he improved and started to get straightened up and thought about what he did," she said.

Donna said he dropped out of high school, but did get his G.E.D. and said he does construction work and also worked at Perkins and Starbucks.

Donna blames his problems on drugs and says even though she hasn't seen him for years; she'd like to visit him in jail.

"I would say that, 'I love you no matter what good or bad. You'll always be my son,'" said Donna.

She says she doesn't know anything about the disappearances and assaults that have police focused on her son.


POLICE BELIEVE SUSPECT IS TIED TO MAN'S DISAPPEARANCE

As more people hear about the case, it's becoming an eerie game of six degrees of separation and James Hataway is in the middle.

Eyewitness News learned that Hataway was one of two people, who last saw a missing Apopka man.

Wednesday night, Apopka police picked up Tyler Watters. Watters is a friend of Hataway and someone who they believe may have information about the disappearance of the Apopka man.

In February, Chris George's car was found abandoned in a wooded area in Apopka. Initially, family and friends did not take it seriously. They looked for George, who also goes by the name George Onda, and didn't find him, but assumed he did not want to be found.

They thought the 29-year-old took off and went on a drug-induced binge. It was not uncommon for him to disappear for two to three weeks and then come home.

Jams Hathaway helped with the search for his friend. He was one of the last people to see George and told police that George may have been on hallucinogens.

Apopka police initially closed out the case, but now that James Hataway maybe involved in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance, detectives have reopened the case.

Authorities are in the process of re-interviewing all of George's friends, but they are still trying to locate one friend who is considered a person of interest.

Investigators say Hataway and that person of interest were the last people to see George before he disappeared.

Apopka police investigators say they did not consider George an endangered missing person based on what friends and family members told authorities at the time.

Phone Call Made On Missing Ocoee Woman's Phone

ORLANDO -- It has been more than a week since Tracy Ocasio was last seen and authorities have found no trace of the Ocoee woman. But cell phone records are shedding light on the case. The 27-year-old woman was last seen leaving a bar with James Hataway.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, a phone call was made on Ocasio's phone hours after she allegedly dropped Hataway off. Police have notified the caller, but their identity has yet to be released.

Ocasio's phone has not been found.
   
But her car was found abandoned less than a half-mile from Hataway's house. A $5,000 reward is being offered in the case.

The Ocoee Police Department is expected to release video from the Florida Tap Room Friday afternoon.  That was the last place Ocasio was seen before she went missing.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about Hataway or Ocasio to call Ocoee Police Department at (407) 905-3160 or CrimeLine at (800) 423-TIPS.

Jennifer Kesse's parents find disturbing similarities in the disappearance of their daughter and that of missing Ocoee resident Tracy Ocasio.

Drew Kesse said his daughter once lived in the same neighborhood and likely visited the Florida Tap Room, the same bar where Tracy Ocasio was last seen alive last week.

And James Hataway, the only person of interest in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance, lives less than two miles from where Jennifer Kesse worked for several years. Add the fact that Hataway lived for a time in Hillsborough County, the same place where the Kesse's reared their family and Drew Kesse said it's enough of a connection to make him curious.

"Our lead detective is working with their [Ocoee's] lead detective," Kesse said. "There are a lot of similarities."

Orlando police have told the Orlando Sentinel repeatedly that there is no known connection between Tracy Ocasio's disappearance May 26 and Jennifer Kesse's in January 2006, but they have not ruled out anything.

"We always research anyone, anywhere who is listed as a person of interest in a possible abduction case," Orlando police spokeswoman Sgt. Barbara Jones said in an E-mail. "At this time [we are] not linking the person to the Kesse Case."

Tracy Ocasio, 27, was last seen leaving the bar with Hataway early May 27 following an Orlando Magic playoff game. Hataway told police Tracy Ocasio drove him home and left, but investigators say hours later her cell phone was pinging off of towers just feet from Hataway's home. She has not been found.

Kesse and his wife, Joyce, met with Orlando's top brass and the detective assigned full-time to their daughter's case for more than two hours at OPD headquarters Thursday afternoon. Police told them their daughter's case was far from over.

"It was a very positive meeting," Kesse said. "They are actively working a couple dozen leads that are 'extremely viable,' as they put it."

Kesse said they went into the meeting prepared to hear that their daughter's case had gone cold but were surprised and pleased to hear that progress is still being made. The police did not divulge specific information about investigative leads but assured them that the case is not over, Kesse said.

"At this point, we've been on so many roller coaster rides with things that we've had to be involved in, until something big breaks, I don't really care to know," Kesse said. "It's our unconditional love for her and the fact that she needs to be found" is what keeps them going. And we will not stop."

Prosecutors investigate brutality reports about man linked to missing Ocoee woman
Prosecutors investigate 9-month-old allegations of brutality against James Virgil Hataway, the man at the center of the search for missing Tracy Ocasio

Seminole County prosecutors worked Thursday to investigate 9-month-old allegations of brutality against James Virgil Hataway, the Ocoee man at the center of a current missing-persons case in Orange County.

Ocoee police continued to gather evidence in that disappearance. Tracy Ocasio, 27, of Ocoee was last seen May 27 after she left a bar in the MetroWest community with Hataway. He told police she drove him home, then left.

Hataway, 28, of Ocoee remained in the Orange County Jail on unrelated drug charges.

But he soon could be charged in Seminole County. On Thursday, Rachael M. Clarke, 22, of Orlando met with prosecutors in Sanford and told them what happened to her Aug. 7.

According to a Seminole County sheriff's report, Clarke drove Hataway home that night after the two went to the home of friends. She leaned over to hug him goodbye, according to the report, and he began squeezing her.

On Tuesday, she told reporters that he wrapped his hands around her neck and choked her.

She managed to get out of the car and run down the street but tripped, and he grabbed her by the hair and began slamming her head into the ground, according to the Sheriff's Office report.

He also twisted her neck in an apparent attempt to break it, according to the report.

Clarke began to scream, and when neighbors came outdoors, Hataway fled, she told reporters.

By the time Seminole County deputies arrived, Hataway was gone, according to the report. But Clarke had bruises on her neck and scratches and scrapes on her face, back, hand, arms and knee.

That all happened in Fern Park in Seminole County, where Hataway lived at the time.

Deputies tried to find Hataway during the next few days but could not, according to the report, so they filed paperwork with the State Attorney's Office in Sanford.

Even so, Hataway was never charged.

Chris White, chief assistant state attorney in Seminole, said Thursday that was because Clarke failed to respond when his office asked for her help.

That changed this week. After learning that Hataway was a person of interest in Ocasio's disappearance, Clarke went to Ocoee police.

On Thursday, she said she was unhappy that Hataway had not already been charged with attacking her.

White said prosecutors did not file charges in August because they needed to hear Clarke's version of events and needed to know whether she would be willing to testify against Hataway.

Now that she's told them yes, they're trying to track down witnesses, he said.

"We want to find the people who heard her screaming and came out and interrupted his attack on her," White said.

Prosecutors also want to talk to people who, earlier in the evening, saw Clarke and Hataway together.

Seminole County deputies originally treated the attack as a misdemeanor, but if there is sufficient evidence, White said, charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery or false imprisonment could be appropriate.

In the other case, Ocasio's friends and family held out hope Thursday that the 27-year-old jewelry maker would be found soon.

"I'm keeping my hopes up," said Emily Hamilton, a close friend. "But I don't think this is going to have a positive outcome."

Detectives have scoured the area near Hataway's Ocoee home with bloodhounds and cadaver dogs but have found no sign of Ocasio, said Ocoee police Sgt. Randy Conyers. A search inside Hataway's home produced similar results.

Surveillance video shows Ocasio leaving the Florida Tap Room in MetroWest with Hataway sometime after 12:30 a.m. May 27 after an Orlando Magic playoff game, according to police.

Ocoee detectives found her yellow, two-door Chevrolet Cobalt abandoned and unlocked less than a half-mile from Hataway's house.

Ocasio's cell phone is missing, but newly released reports show that her mother tried to call her on it about 8:30 a.m. the morning she disappeared. Cell-phone records show that call pinged off a tower about 1,000 feet from Hataway's home.

Ocasio told Hamilton that she first met Hataway at the Florida Tap Room about a week before she disappeared.

Detectives encourage anyone with information about this case to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477. Tipsters, who can remain anonymous, are eligible for up to a $5,000 reward.

Apopka police earlier this week re-interviewed Hataway about the disappearance of another person, friend Onda Christopher George, 29. He disappeared in February and has not been seen since. Hataway and two other men were seen by police near George's abandoned car on Ocoee-Apopka Road.

But the one pic of partying with that Watters character with the black hat on, maybe the person in that video is wearing a similar hat. The only thing is the person in that video looks skinnier then Watters.

I think everyone has been waiting for the perp to hit again..It appears he may have. I hope LE can break him down..
Whatever he has done with the bodies is well thought out and he appears confident that they will not be found.

And I guess I'm crazy, because at times I do anwer my own questions, and the reason is, I like my answers better. I've been reading all along on this case and for awhile on Jennifer's case. That video of the man in Jennifer's case, do you think he is wearing a hat? May be a dumb question, but until the other day, and someone posted a pic, I believe of Watters, and he had a black hat on, I didn't think that person was wearing a hat, but now I'm not sure.

Jennifer Kesse's parents find disturbing similarities in the disappearance of their daughter and that of missing Ocoee resident Tracy Ocasio.

Jennifer Kesse's parents find disturbing similarities in the disappearance of their daughter and that of Ocoee resident Tracy Ocasio.

Drew Kesse said Friday that his daughter once lived in the same neighborhood and likely visited the Florida Tap Room, the same bar where Ocasio was last seen alive early May 27.

Ocoee police Friday released video of Ocasio leaving the bar with James Hataway, whom police call the only person of interest in her disappearance.

He lives less than two miles from where Jennifer Kesse, 24, worked for several years.

And Hataway lived in Hillsborough County, where the Kesses reared their family, all of which leads Drew Kesse to wonder whether there's a connection.

"Our lead detective is working with their [Ocoee's] lead detective," Kesse said. "There are a lot of similarities."

Orlando police have told the Orlando Sentinel that there is no known connection between Ocasio's disappearance and Kesse's in January 2006, but they have not ruled anything out.

"We always research anyone, anywhere who is listed as a person of interest in a possible abduction case," Orlando police spokeswoman Sgt. Barbara Jones said in an e-mail. "At this time [we are] not linking the person to the Kesse Case."



Searching for Ocasio
Ocasio, 27, had gone to the MetroWest bar to watch an Orlando Magic playoff game with friends. Hataway told police Ocasio drove him home and left, but investigators say hours later her cell phone was pinging off towers yards from Hataway's home. Her mother was trying to call her, reports show.

On Friday, police released a picture of a yellow 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt similar to the one Ocasio was driving before she disappeared. They are looking for anyone who has seen the car, with Florida tag J051EC, since May 26. It was found abandoned and unlocked not far from Hataway's house.

Cadaver dogs searched the car and found nothing, Sgt. Randy Conyers said, and a search of Hataway's home resulted in Hataway's arrest on a drug-paraphernalia charge. He is in the Orange County Jail without bail; he also is charged with criminal mischief in an unrelated case.

Since Hataway's arrest, two women have accused him of violent behavior.


Kesse case still open
Investigators disclosed Friday that, based on tips, they had searched Lake Meadow, a wooded area with a lake off Clarke Road, and a nearby stretch of Lauren Beth Avenue.

No sign of Ocasio was found, said Conyers, a department spokesman.

Meanwhile, Apopka police are investigating whether Hataway, who has an extensive arrest history, was involved in the disappearance of his friend Onda Christopher George, 29, who vanished in February. Police saw Hataway and two other men near George's abandoned car on Ocoee-Apopka Road. Searches have come up empty.

As for Kesse and his wife, Joyce, they met with Orlando's top brass and the detective assigned full time to their daughter's case for more than two hours Thursday afternoon. Police told them their daughter's case was far from over.

"It was a very positive meeting," Kesse said.

That being said, it is interesting that Amanda is in the pic all cozied up with Rachel, the young woman who is alleging that JH tried to kill her last August, n'est ce pas? Did Rachel tell Amanda what JH did to her? Certainly is cause for pause in buying Amanda's statement in the above article . . .

OCOEE, Fla. -- Apopka detectives searched in a wooded area Monday and drained two dirty green pools at abandoned homes, looking for any clues that may lead them to the whereabouts of a missing Apopka man and an Ocoee woman.

Investigators say they are hoping to find evidence that will help them charge the suspect, James Hataway, of murder. Hataway is in the Orange County jail and the charges and accusations against him continue to mount.

Hataway has been linked to the disappearance of Tracy Ocasio. A 27-year-old Ocoee woman he met at a Metro West bar two weeks ago.

Officers say he could be connected to an unsolved case in Apopka. Hataway's friend, Chris George, vanished in February. Investigators say he was one of Hataway's best friends.

George's body has not been found. Apopka detectives searched on land, by ATV, air boat and with cadaver dogs Monday, looking for Chris George.

Officer Donnie Heston spent two hours scouring a shallow pond near where Chris' truck was found in February.

"Unless that body is down there on the bottom, I don't think it's there, given the depth. I'm comfortable nothings there," said Heston.

Detectives said Hbataway had ties to George. Initially, investigators thought Chris and another friend wrecked his truck off Ocoee-Apopka Road February 12, the day Chris disappeared.

However, now they're questioning if there was ever a wreck at all.

"We have recently learned as of this week the vehicle was brought back and set up," said Officer Edwin Chittenden, Apopka Police Department.

Ground searches led detectives to two abandoned homes, both with swimming pools full of murky water. Investigators drained both pools.

It took nearly a full day to drain both pools, but Apopka investigators only found muck, a kid's bike and beer bottles.

"Certainly a good place for someone to have fallen or placed," said Chittenden.

Apopka investigators hoped Chris George's case would lead to clues in the disappearance of Tracy Ocasio, both missing people linked to James Hataway.

Hataway is suspected in at least four other crimes against people across Central Florida. That includes the case of a Casselberry woman. She says Hataway tried to kill her when she gave him a ride home last August.

The Seminole County sheriff's office said it wants to increase their charges against Hataway to robbery and aggravated battery, which would help keep him in jail even longer.

Hataway has not officially been charged. However, warrants have been signed, but not officially served.

The person of interest in the case of a missing Ocoee woman faces charges in an attack on a woman last year, a Seminole County sheriff's spokeswoman said Monday.

A judge has issued an arrest warrant for James Virgil Hataway, 27, in an Aug. 7 attack alleged by Rachel M. Clarke, 22, spokeswoman Kim Cannaday said. Clarke told deputy sheriffs the Ocoee man twisted her neck after she drove him to his home, which then was in Fern Park.

Clarke said Hataway began squeezing her after she leaned over to hug Hataway goodbye. Alarmed, she got out of the car, and then tripped as she ran down the street. He grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head into the ground, according to a sheriff's report.

When neighbors came outdoors, Hataway fled, she told reporters. Clarke did not cooperate with the investigation at the time and charges were never filed, Cannaday said.

Hataway is the last person known to have seen Tracy Ocasio, 27, of Ocoee before she vanished May 27. They left together from the Florida Tap Room in MetroWest about 1:30 a.m. after watching an Orlando Magic playoff game.

Clarke went public June 2 after Ocoee police disclosed that they searched Hataway's home in Ocasio's disappearance. Last Thursday, she met with prosecutors in Sanford to discuss the August attack.

Charges in the warrant include aggravated battery, robbery and burglary with a battery charges. Information on what Hataway took during the August attack was not immediately available, Cannaday said.

The warrant for the Seminole case has not yet been served, Cannaday said. Hataway is being held without bond in Orange County Jail on an unrelated possession of drug paraphernalia count.

Hataway also is a person of interest in the February disappearance of a friend, Onda Christopher George, 29.

APOPKA, Fla. -- Ocoee police said they will conduct another search for evidence in the case of a missing woman.

Tracy Ocasio was last seen at the Tap Room bar in MetroWest on May 27. Police said James Hataway was the last person to see her.

Ocoee police have conducted several searches for clues already and did not specify what they were searching for today.

Police said Hataway may be connected to Ocasio's disappearance as well as the disappearance of his friend, Chris George. George went missing from Apopka in February.

Apopka police have already drained two pools at abandoned homes, which are not far from where George's car was found in February. Police said they will drain ponds in the area on Tuesday.

Hataway has not been charged in either disappearance, but he has been charged with aggravated battery in an unrelated case. Three women have accused Hataway of attacking them and he is now charged in one of those cases.

Family Aides In Search for Missing Woman

OCOEE, Fla. -- Police and family members searched for a missing woman Tuesday in Ocoee. A man suspected in 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio's disappearance is in jail and in protective custody.

Hope is starting to dwindle in the Ocasio house. It has been nearly two weeks since Tracy disappeared and while tips are coming in, most leads turn up empty.

Ocoee police prepped an area that they plan to search Wednesday, a spot where prime suspect, 28-year-old James Hataway, was known to have worked.

Tracy Ocasio drove Hataway home from an Orlando bar and she hasn't been seen or heard from since. Her car was found just around the corner from Hataway's Ocoee house.

Joe Ocasio, Tracy's father has searched too. He said he can't bear to sit at home with thoughts of his daughter lying in a field somewhere.

"It’s a hollow feeling because you are looking for a body at this point," said Joe Ocasio.

Ocoee police Sergeant Mike Bryant spent the morning with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, working out a system that will link their information with Apopka police and Orlando, who all have missing person cases and all of them seem to have similarities or ties to James Hataway.

Hataway has had one visitor since his incarceration. His mother visited him on Sunday for 45 minutes

OCOEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Fourteen days and counting, and Tracy Ocasio is still missing.  Finding her is a top priority for the Ocoee Police Department.

Investigators are still talking to people with any information about missing 27-year-old or James Hataway, a person of interest in this case. Hataway, 28, is locked up right now in Orange County on drug charges.

On Tuesday, on of Hataway's friends, Justin Sharpe, talked with detectives for about an hour. Investigators called it an emotional interview.

Sharpe dropped Hataway off at the Florida Tap Room two weeks ago, the same night surveillance video captured Tracy Ocasio leaving with Hataway following an Orlando Magic watch party.

FOX 35 attempted to talk to Sharpe about that night, but he wasn't thrilled to see us. "Go away! I have nothing to say to you." he said.

Investigators on Tuesday expanded their ground search, following up on tips from people telling them where to search, including near the North Orange Trail.

They focused on wooded areas and local ponds.

Joe Ocasio, Tracy's father, said he's even been out on his own on three different occasions, canvassing an area south of the Reserves of Meadow Lake off Clark Road, three miles from where Tracy's car was found.

"That area is a dumping ground," he said. "I go fishing there. There's a lot of debris. I told detectives to search that area."

The past two weeks have been rough on the Ocasios. Tracy's mother, Liz, had to be rushed to a hospital on Tuesday, complaining of chest pains. Doctors said the stress has been too much on her.

The search will pick again on Wednesday at 3 p.m. K-9 units from various agencies will be assisting.

OCOEE - Police are searching a wooded area near Ingram Road and Clarcona Ocoee Road for missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio.

The area is about 300 yards from a bike path. About 10 dogs have been brought in to help assist the search, Ocoee police said.

Osacio was last seen alive May 26 when she was watching an Orlando Magic playoff game at the Florida Tap Room. She was reported missing May 27.

She was last seen with James Virgil Hataway, who is considered a person of interest in the case and is being held on unrelated charges at the Orange County Jail.

According to one of the posters on Blink's site, he is the man responsible for saving JH's life after he was stabbed before he made it to the hospital. Thus he began referring to him as 'brother', apparently.

OCOEE, Fla. -- Ocoee police said they were searching an illegal dumping area off of Hobson and Clarcona-Ocoee roads for missing woman Tracy Ocasio Wednesday.

Ocasio, 27, has been missing since May 27. She was last seen leaving a Metro West bar with James Hataway, 28, and reportedly gave Hataway a ride home.

Hataway is in jail on unrelated drug and battery charges. Police call him a person of interest in the Ocasio case.

Police said Hataway was an environmental worker who would come to the dumping ground to get rid of trash.

Ocasio's family said they wanted the area searched.

Several cadaver canine units from all over Florida are involved in the latest search, which covers an area of 280 acres. Cadaver units have already searched Ocasio's car – found 15 miles from the bar she was last seen at – and found nothing.

CrimeLine is offering a $5,000 reward for information about Ocasio's disappearance.

OCOEE -- The search continues in the case of Tracy Ocasio, 27.

 On Wednesday, police used K-9 teams to search a wooded area near Ingram and Clarcona Ocoee roads, which is near the Forest Lake Golf Club.

It’s also about 300 yards from a bike path.

Police said the man under suspicion in the case, James Hataway, used to go to the area as part of his responsibilities as an environmental cleaner.

The area used to be an illegal dumping ground.

“The search is going, it’s going well, in the sense that we haven’t found anything, ‘cause we don’t necessarily want to find anything. We’re hoping that Tracy’s still alive  But the dogs have ruled out a good part of the property. They’ve divided up well. The dogs are holding out well. The searches themselves really are dependent on the dogs. The heat’s a factor. They burn out quicker,” said Sgt. Mike Bryant from the Ocoee Police Department.

Investigators Open Nationwide Hataway Profile

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The search for a missing Ocoee woman continues Thursday morning and now investigators want to know if the prime suspect in her case is connected to other crimes nationwide.

James Hataway has already been linked to the disappearances of Tracy Ocasio and Chris George from Apopka. Investigators are building a profile of Hataway that other agencies can see.

Law enforcement officers from around the state spent most of Wednesday searching a wooded area of Ocoee. Cadaver dogs scanned 300 acres of land, searching for traces of Tracy Ocasio.

Debbie Abney is a lead tracker. She and a team of other trackers work through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, setting up a profile for suspects like James Hataway.

Abney is working on the Tracy Ocasio file, sorting through every tip from informants to 911 calls, entering them into a web-based system that will make sure no lead falls through the cracks.

"The most minor lead could be the one to solve the case," said Abney.

Hundreds of leads are piling up in the Ocasio case. This system will connect the dots for investigators from anywhere in the country if Hataway is tied to other crimes.

"The program has the ability to compare leads that may exist in other cases," said Abney.

Leads like the one that led Ocoee investigators to a wooded area Wednesday. Cadaver dogs from as far way as Miami-Dade searched nearly 300 acres of thick brush.

"It was a tree farm. Areas dug out a couple feet deep. He would not have to dig a hole if he wanted to bury something," said Abney.

It is an area Jimmy Hataway was known to illegally dump debris. Apopka investigators also searched a house Wednesday where Hataway was known to sometimes stay.

The leads, the outcome of searches and Hataway's DNA are all entered into one system at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. However, the system is only as good as the tips that come in.

"We're obviously going to need tips. We have to have something to follow," said Abney.

Investigators will continue their search for Tracy Ocasio Thursday and will look for any other clues that might lead to her whereabouts. If you have any information that may help the investigation, please call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.

OCOEE, Fla. -- There is still no sign of a missing Orange County woman after authorities from south Florida were brought in to help with the search.

Tracy Ocasio was last seen on May 27 after spending the previous night at the Tap Room bar in metro west. Surveillance from the bar shows her leaving with James Hataway.

A search team from Miami-Dade County helped search a 280-acre area in Ocoee that is known for illegal dumping. Police said Hataway, who is a person of interest in Ocasio's disappearance, worked for a company known for dumping things in the area.

Hataway has not been charged in connection with Ocasio's disappearance, but Ocasio's parents suspect he played a role.

"I almost wish they would just throw him in the general population and let them take care of him; that's what I hope," Liz Ocasio, said.

"If he is indeed involved, I hope he rots in hell," Joe Ocasio said.




NOTE:  It was nearly 6 months before Caylee Anthony's body was found and then it was found so close to the house.  Searching for someone especially in these wooded areas is very difficult.

Texas EquuSearch offers help finding missing Ocoee woman

The head of Texas Equusearch, a mounted search and recovery team, will arrive in the Orlando area today to see if he can help find a missing Ocoee woman, a representative for the organization said early this morning.

Tim Miller will meet with law enforcement, said Carolyn Todd, an administrator for the group. He is coming at the request of the father of Tracy Ocasio, 27. She disappeared May 27 after leaving the Florida Tap Room bar in MetroWest.

Ocasio left the bar at about 1:30 a.m. with James Hataway, 27, a person of interest in the case. Hataway is being held in Orange County Jail on unrelated charges.

Since Ocasio's disappearance, investigators have searched wooded areas in west Orange County for clues.

Equusearch has no search planned and is not looking for volunteers at this time, Todd said.

A DNA sample provided by James Hataway -- the person of interest in the case of missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio -- has been entered into a database to check for matches in other suspected criminal cases in Florida and around the country.

Ocoee Police Detective Sgt. Mike Bryant said Hataway allowed officials to collect a DNA sample early on in their investigation.

"He consented to the swab. That was no problem," Bryant said.

The Combined DNA Index System -- or CODIS -- is used to find DNA matches and help solve violent crimes still being worked by law enforcement agencies around the country.

"This will match up with anything," Bryant said.

Hataway has been linked to Ocasio but has not been charged in connection with her disappearance. The 27-year-old was reported missing May 27. She was seen with Hataway at a MetroWest bar the night before. And her car was found a few blocks from Hataway's home in Ocoee. He is only a person of interest in that case.

But Hataway is charged with an attack on another woman in Seminole County. That charge stems from an incident that occurred last year. He also faces two minor charges in unrelated incidents in Ocoee.

Today, Bryant said Hataway is not suspected in any specific unsolved crime around Florida or outside the state. But as Ocoee Police have investigated the Ocasio disappearance, they've learned that other women have noted Hataway's flaring temper. And they've learned that he has visited Louisiana and Key West, for example.

"We know he has traveled a lot," Bryant said. "This is all -- just in case. This is a way of reaching out statewide and nationally, if we have to."

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been involved with the processing of Hataway's DNA and other samples taken during the Ocasio investigation, Bryant said.

He added that his office has not heard from another police department inquiring about Hataway or mentioning another unsolved case.

"This is something [the DNA collection] we would do anyway," Bryant said.

Although Hataway willingly provided his DNA sample, Bryant said investigators would have obtained a warrant to secure the sample if he had not consented.

Equusearch Joins In Ocasio Search

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The head of search organization Texas Equusearch is scheduled to lead a search for missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio in western Orange County this weekend.

Tim Miller arrived at about 4:45 p.m., the organization said. Ocoee police said the group will conduct land and water searches while the police department and other agencies would work on leads as they come in.

"I somehow fear that this is not going to turn out the way that we hope," Ocasio's mother, Liz Ocasio, said. "But we can only do our best to find her."

Equusearch uses horses to cover large, undeveloped areas. The organization said it is not currently seeking volunteers.

Ocasio, 27, has been missing since May 27. Ocoee Police have said that they have a person of interest in the case, James Hataway, 28, who remains jailed on unrelated drug and battery charges. He was transferred to the Seminole County jail on Friday.

Ocasio last seen was at the Florida Tap Room in Metro West. Surveillance video showed her walking out of the bar with Hataway.

Police said Hataway told them Ocasio gave him a ride and he hasn't seen her sense.

Her yellow Chevy Cobalt was later found abandoned in Ocoee about 15 miles from the bar and not far from Hataway's home.

Hataway was charged Tuesday with the battery of a Seminole County woman last August. The woman came forward after Ocasio's disappearance and said Hataway had tried to kill her. Police are also looking at possible connections between missing woman Jennifer Kesse and missing Apopka man Chris George.

A search of an area used for illegal dumping that police said Hataway used to frequent ended Thursday with no new information, police said.

CrimeLine is offering a $5,000 reward for information about Ocasio's disappearance.

Suspect in disappearance of Ocoee woman makes 1st court appearance

James Hataway, a person of interest in the disappearance of an Ocoee woman, made his first appearance in a Seminole County courtroom this morning.

A judge placed a bond of $250,000 on Hataway, with a special condition that if he is released, he must wear a GPS monitoring device. Hataway, 28, next will appear in court at 1:30 p.m. July 28.

The judge appointed a public defender for Hataway. He was appearing in court to face prior Seminole County charges, including aggravated battery and burglary. He is accused of choking a woman who gave him a ride home from a bar in 2008.

Hataway was brought into the courtroom wearing a gray-blue Seminole County Jail uniform. He did not speak to the judge.

He had been booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility at 1:14 p.m. Friday from the Orange County Jail.

Tracy Ocasio disappeared May 26 after watching an Orlando Magic game at the Tap Room, a bar in Orlando's MetroWest neighborhood.

Footage from the bar's security cameras showed Ocasio leaving the bar with Hataway.He told Ocoee police that he did not see Ocasio after she dropped him at his home, but police later found her car near his home.

EquuSearch Searching For Missing Ocoee Woman

OCOEE, Fla. -- The same group that spent weeks searching for Caylee Anthony’s body is back in Central Florida looking for 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio who hasn’t been seen in more than two weeks.

Texas EquuSearch is searching the area in Ocoee where Ocasio’s car was found after she disappeared. So far crews have not found any signs of Ocasio.

Saturday morning, Jimmy Hataway, the prime suspect in Ocasio’s disappearance, made his first appearance before a Seminole County Judge on unrelated charges.

Hataway is charged with aggravated battery of a Casselberry woman. His bond was set at $250,000.

EquuSearch will continue searching for Ocasio Sunday. They are asking the public for their help. They are especially in need of volunteers with horses and ATV’s.

About 50 people were on site at Vignetti Park in Ocoee about 8 a.m. today to begin a search of nearly 300 nearby acres with the hope of finding some sign of Ocasio, who disappeared after watching an Orlando Magic game at the Tap Room, a bar in Orlando's MetroWest neighborhood.

"We will work until a few minutes before dark," said Lisa Hoffman of Texas EquuSearch. Hoffman and another Texas member, Tim Miller, traveled from Texas to assist Florida team members with today's search for Ocasio.

The EquuSearch team is asking more people from the Orlando area to assist in the search. They need people who are willing to search the wooded area on foot as well as searchers with ATVs or horses. The horses must have a current Coggins test, said Carolyn Todd, an administrator for EquuSearch.

People who are willing to participate in the search must report no later than 8 a.m. to Vignetti Park at 1906 Adair Street in Ocoee. They also are required to be 18 or older with photo identification, and must be able to bring their own food, insect spray and sunscreen.

Texas EquuSearch is requesting help from the public in the search for 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio.

The group, which most recently made trips to Florida to help search for Caylee Anthony, Jennifer Kesse, and Haleigh Cummings, is requesting volunteers on foot, horseback and with ATVs. (Horses have a current Coggins test.)

Volunteers must be 18 years old or older and have a valid photo ID. Organizers ask that volunteers bring their own food, water, bug spray and sunscreen and dress appropriately in long sleeves, boots and hats.

Volunteers are again joining the Texas EquuSearch team this morning as they look for missing Ocoee resident Tracy Ocasio.

EquuSearch is holding a staging area for volunteers at Vignetti Park, 1906 Adair St., Ocoee. Volunteers are urged to wear long-sleeve T-shirts, sturdy shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen and a hat.

Volunteers begin new

OCOEE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) - Texas EquuSearch volunteers are searching two wooded areas today in their search for missing 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio. The first area is approximately 300 acres and is near the area of Bluford Avenue and Colonial Drive.

The second wooded area is about 100 acres and is situated near Lakewood Avenue and 17th Street.

The search team is still looking for help, especially those who have horses and ATV's.

Anyone 18-years-old or older who is interested in helping is asked to meet at the Command Center located at 1906 Adair Street in Ocoee. Volunteers are asked to bring their own foot or water, wear long sleeves, sturdy shoes and a hat.

On Sunday, Ocasio's parents said they knew they understood at this point that they would be looking for a body. "We still hope for a miracle, you still have to have that there. We know it just doesn't look good at this point. We're just looking for strength so we can get through this period," Joe Ocasio said.

Investigators said James Hataway remains the only person of interest in the case. He remains jailed on unrelated charges.

Texas EquuSearch's Tim Miller said after meeting Tracy's parents over the weekend, he and his volunteers will continue to search until they find Tracy. "We are real curious about the suspect and where his comfort areas are. We know he lives right here," Miller said.

Miller and his 30 EquuSearch volunteers and 90 volunteers from the community searched for Tracy's body on Sunday.

Tim Miller - wow. Bless his big giant heart. What an incredible human being, always willing to go out on a limb, do whatever it takes to find a way to help. He hasn't let the experiences from such cases as Natalee, Caylee, etc., keep him from doing whatever he can. Don't know about you all, but I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mr. Miller.

Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.

Volunteers keep up search for Ocasio

Texas EquuSearch volunteers are heading back into a wooded area in west Orange County Tuesday to search for Tracy Ocasio.

"I've taken two days of vacation from work to come out here," said Ron Feb, a Texas EquuSearch official volunteer.

Feb has been helping EquuSearch look for Tracy since Saturday.

"It is frustrating," said Feb. "You want to find her so bad, but you just have to have the mind set that if the area you're searching you don't find her, at least you know where she's not."

The conditions have been grueling during the search. Much of the roughly 700 acres they've covered is pretty tough terrain, and temperatures have been holding steady in the mid 90s.

"It's tough work," said Feb. "It's hard. It's brutal out here in the heat."

But Feb says having Tracy's dad, Joe Ocasio, around them has kept him motivated.

"If you don't really know what you're doing out here, why you're here, you look over at the father, and that says everything you need to know. You're out here for that man. He's going through hell. It's just unbelievable. I try to search like it's one of my family members that are missing. I want to bring him closure."

Tracy hasn't been seen since May 27 when she left the Tap Room Bar in MetroWest with James Hataway, a person of interest in her disappearance. Hataway is being held in the Seminole County Jail on unrelated charges.

EquuSearch Director Tim Miller says the group will keep looking for the 27 year old until they've searched every area that can be searched and used every resource at their disposal.

Volunteers and search crews from Texas-based EquuSearch are out for a fifth day in a row to look for missing Tracy Ocasio.

The 27-year-old Ocoee woman was last seen alive on May 27 when she left a MetroWest bar with James Hataway. She has not been heard from or seen since that night.

Crews have combed several hundred acres near Ocoee since the search began Saturday.

Investigators have received roughly 40 tips since Tracy Ocasio disappeared, but so far, none has panned out.

Basically Tim is talking about all the stuff we already knew.  All about the other girls coming forward about Hataway, then also about Odna Chris George.

So Tim is broadening the search.  Now they feel they are looking for two or more victims in the area.  So they are going to try and find Tracy and Onda Chris George and if there are any other possible victims.

Ocoee police seized a computer from the home of James Hataway, the only person of interest in the case of missing Tracy Ocasio.

Police served a search warrant at 147 Lyle Street today at 2 p.m. after detectives discovered Hataway is obsessed with "murder, suicide, cannibalism, vampires and serial murders," according to a press release.

Two computer towers and a stack of CDs were confiscated this afternoon, police said.

Hataway shares the home with his father, Virgil Hataway.

Colt Hickox said he considers Hataway a brother and knows him better than anyone. Hataway does not have any obsessions with demonic or strange occult type behavior, Hickox said.

“We like old Excalibur-type of swords and old antique weapons, we are both into that stuff,” Hickox said. “He’s into the pirate-era, even before Pirates of the Caribbean came out.”

Meanwhile, a group of volunteers continued their search in wooded areas looking for 27-year-old Ocasio who was last seen leaving a MetroWest bar with Hataway on May 27.

Friends say the latest development in Hataway's alleged behavior does not come as a shock.

“He’s done so many bad things in the past, nothing surprises me,” Emily Hamilton, Ocasio’s best friend, said. “We aren’t going to know anything until we find Tracy.”

OCOEE, Fla. -- On Saturday, the parents of missing woman Tracy Ocasio joined more than 75 volunteers to help search for their daughter.

"It's not a good day," said Ocasio's father, Joe. "It's the last big search, the last hope. We haven't given up on a miracle, but I think we are looking for a body. That's not a good thought, so there are a lot of emotions."

Saturday was also the search group Texas EquuSearch's last day of looking for the missing 27-year-old woman.

The family remained hopeful with EquuSearch combing through more than 2,000 acres for the missing woman.

"It's extremely hot here right now," said Shawn Clark as he walked through the woods searching for Ocasio. "We're out here right now; we're out helping these guys find a cell phone or even a body."

Ocasio's parents said they understand that the search is over on Saturday. It has been extremely hot, crews are drained and there's nowhere else to look at this time, officials said.

"I think everyone is just burnt out," said Tim Miller, of Texas EquuSearch. "We've done everything we can do, if you want to know the truth, and don't have a lot of areas to go to."

Five full search teams came out to look for Ocasio. Most volunteers never even knew her.

"All you can think is they have this big gaping hole in the center of their chest, and we want to let them know that the entire community feels for them in some way," said Les Draper.

Draper's daughter is around the same age as Ocasio, he said, and he wanted to help.

"I mean, from the bottom of our hearts, we are grateful and blessed for what they've done for our family," Joe Ocasio said. "Whether we find her or not, we will never ever forget this moment."

The family asked the public to try to remember seeing a 2005 Yellow Cobalt LS between the hours of 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. May 27. Her parents said they hope the public has information to help them find out what happened to their daughter.

Police Still Holding Person Of Interest In Disappearance

Tracy Ocasio was last seen with James Hataway.

On May 27, she was seen in a surveillance video wearing a baseball cap leaving the Tap Room, a bar in Metrowest, with Hataway.

Police said they learned on Thursday that Hataway has expressed interest in things like serial murders, vampires and cannibalism.

Ocasio's parents said the news was very eerie. They said they believe that the more things that are found out about Hataway when he lived in a nearby house with his father, the more clues detectives have as to what may have happened to their daughter.

"If they found more bodies with my daughter, it would not surprise me," mother Elizabeth Ocasio said.

Another person, 29-year-old Chris George, is also missing, and Hataway is one of the last people seen with him, police said.

Hataway is being held on unrelated charges that he allegedly assaulted a Seminole County woman last August. He is considered a person of interest in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance.

Authorities seized two computers from Hataway's father's house. Investigators also removed items having to do with the dark arts -- generally associated with Satanism and witchcraft.

Unidentified Body Found in Orange County

An unidentified body was found near Eatonville on Monday, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's Homicide Unit determined the human remains at 2525 W. Kennedy Blvd. had "been there for quite some time," spokeswoman Cpl. Susan Soto wrote.

Detectives have not been able to determine how the person died or if it was man or woman pending more investigation. The body was discovered by an unidentified caller to 911.

Search of septic tank yields no sign of missing Tracy Ocasio of Ocoee

In the continuing search for the missing Tracy Ocasio, Ocoee police today pumped out a septic tank attached to a home on Lyle Street, they said.

No sign of Ocasio, 27, was found in the 4-foot-by-8-foot tank.

Investigators searched there because James Hataway, 28, the last known person to see Ocasio alive, had access to the tank, police said. They describe Hataway as a "person of interest" in the case. He was seen leaving a MetroWest bar on May 27 with Ocasio. Her abandoned car was found near his house.

Hataway is being held in the Seminole County jail on on robbery, aggravated battery and other charges related to an attack on another woman

 In the front room of Liz and Joe Ocasio's lakefront Ocoee home, an impromptu collage of their daughter's life is spread out on the coffee table.

"This is daddy's little girl," Liz Ocasio said, picking up a picture.

Tracy Ocasio smiles out from dozens of photos. She beams while holding a large fish at the end of a line. The camera captures her giant smile on Christmas morning, holding up the first telephone she was allowed to keep in her room. Included in the collection is a flier they wish didn't exist. A missing-person handout.

The Ocasios are frustrated. They're scared. And they're not sure where to turn next. A month-long effort to find their missing 27-year-old daughter has hit one dead end after another, leaving them with more questions than answers.

"We hold hope for a miracle, but all the circumstances tell us that something's happened to her," Joe said. "I hope and pray to God that that's not the case."

Complicating the case — to a degree — is that Tracy Ocasio could have decided on her own to disappear. As an adult, it's not a crime to do so. But Ocoee police and her parents don't think that's what happened.

A surveillance camera captured Ocasio, a friendly, outgoing jewelry maker, leaving the Florida Tap Room after watching a May 26 Orlando Magic playoff game. She never returned home. Ocoee resident James Hataway, a convicted criminal with a long rap sheet, said Ocasio gave him a ride home that night from the MetroWest bar.

Ocoee police list Hataway as a person of interest in her disappearance but have not charged him. Ocoee police jailed Hataway on drug charges after finding paraphernalia in his home during a search shortly after Ocasio was reported missing. He's now in the Seminole County Jail on charges from an unrelated assault on a woman who had given him a ride home nine months earlier.

On Tuesday, Ocoee police said they pumped out a septic tank attached to Hataway's home on Lyle Street. The search of the tank yielded no evidence of Ocasio.

Liz Ocasio contacted police about her daughter's disappearance on May 27. Later that day, Tracy Ocasio's car was found abandoned blocks from Hataway's house. Some personal items of Ocasio's turned up in the car, but her keys and cell phone were gone.

Overnight, Joe Ocasio honed detective skills he never knew he possessed.

He worked on mapping all possible routes from the Florida Tap Room to Hataway's house. He looked at train schedules, posted fliers at restaurants and showed his daughter's picture to employees at the bars she frequented. But no one had seen her.

A few weeks later when police "hit the wall" in their search efforts, Joe Ocasio called for help from Texas EquuSearch. Founder Tim Miller and his crew arrived in Ocoee the following morning and tried for a week to find her. Volunteers scoured 2,500 acres and found bobcats, alligators and snakes, but no sign of Ocasio.

Now that EquuSeach is gone and police are running out of leads, her parents say they don't know what to do next.

So the Ocasios fear the worst and hope someone will come forward with information that will lead them to their daughter.

Anyone with information about the case can remain anonymous by calling Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward up to $5,000.

She has not been deceased for more than a few days I believe because skin is still in tact and it has been hotter than he!! down in FL.  I could not find anyone reported missing in the Orlando area fitting that discription within the time frame.  God rest her soul.  ::MonkeyAngel::

I have been a bit quiet on Tracy's case. As most of you are aware, sometimes to a fault- I am very PRO LE.
That said, I have serious reservations about the way this case is being investigated, and even more serious reservations that if that does not change, they may never find her. That to me, is unacceptable. I am working on a few things behind the scenes I want to let simmer before I am more specific if that's ok, but I wanted you to know in no way have I backed off this case. 

This is so utterly frustrating I cant even articulate it. They can take that tenement apart brick by brick and they won't find her there. I am not saying this guy is not a suspect, He should be, but by no stretch of the imagination should he be the only one.

Decomposed Tattooed Body Found Not Ocasio

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A decomposed body that was found in Orange County near Kennedy Boulevard (see map) on Monday was an African-American woman and not that of Tracy Ocasio.

The tattooed body, officers say, was too decomposed to be identified. Officers ae asking anyone who may recognize the tattoos to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.

History and patterns of behaviors..

On 11/16/84, Long was arrested and charged for the kidnapping and sexual battery of Lisa McVey.  In a confession obtained on that date, Long gave the following account of the events that preceded Michelle Simms’ death.  Long bought some rope the night before the murder and cut it into sections before it was put in his vehicle’s glove box.  Long then went looking for a prostitute along Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa.  Long then stopped next to the victim and obtained her company for $50.  After the victim entered the car, Long drove approximately one mile before making the victim undress at knife point and reclined the passenger’s seat until it was flat before he tied her up.  Long stated that he then drove approximately 15-20 miles before he raped the victim.  Long then talked to the victim and told her that he was going to drop her off where he picked her up.  Instead, Long drove to Plant City where he attempted to strangle the victim.  When that failed, he hit her head with a club and pushed her from the vehicle.  Long left her on the side of the road after he slit her throat.  Long discarded the victim’s clothing at the scene of the murder.   

 

The nude body of Michelle Simms was discovered on 05/27/84, in a wooded area near Plant City, Florida.  A rope was tied around the victim’s wrists and around her body to restrict the movement of her hands and her clothing was scattered in the surrounding area.  The victim’s throat was cut, there was blood on her face and head and the victim also suffered from rope burns on her neck and chin.  The medical examiner stated that the cause of death could have been either strangulation, bleeding from two knife slashes in her neck, or head injuries.

Leshanda had arrest record of 5x since 2005. Charges including petit & retail theft. Nothing too serious, IMHO. Have not investigated all charges.

Lashanda's mother (not named, but, pics shown in the 6/26 video report) & sister (Carlene Brand) learned of her murder by seeing the local news and apparently recognizing the tattoos. Seems like a nice family. Doesn’t appear that Lashanda had children. Report did not indicate if she had been married previously, but, shares the same surname as her sister Carlene. The report also includes a pic of Leshanda with a young boy, ~7-9 years old, although it does not state her relationship to him.

The sewer is located near James Hataway’s former homes. Hataway remains the only person of interest in the case and is being held in custody on unrelated charges.

Last week, police confiscated computers from Hataway’s father’s home. They have not released the details of their findings.

Detectives believe Hataway was into the dark arts and had an interest in vampires.

Ocasio has been missing for more than one month. She was caught on surveillance camera leaving a local bar with Hataway after an Orlando Magic playoff game.

OCOEE, Fla. -- A man that police have called a person of interest for weeks in the disappearance of Orange County woman Tracy Ocasio is facing serious charges Tuesday, according to the Seminole County State Attorney.

James Hataway, 28, has been charged with burglary with a battery, robbery, false Imprisonment, and misdemeanor battery.

All the charges are related to an incident last August involving Rachel Clarke, police said. Clarke came forward after Hataway was named as the last person with Ocasio. Clarke said she reported that he assaulted her when it happened, but the case was never materialized. With more information and updated statements from witnesses, police said Hataway was able to be charged.

Police said Ocasio, 27, was last seen with Hataway leaving a Metrowest bar after watching an Orlando Magic game, Tap Room, on May 27. A surveillance video showed the pair leaving together.

Earlier in the case, police learned that Hataway was interested in "dark arts." Ocoee detectives said they seized paraphernalia relating to murder, suicide, cannibalism, vampires and serial killers from Hataway's home where he lived with his father.

Investigators also removed items having to do with the dark arts -- generally associated with Satanism and witchcraft.

Mother Elizabeth Ocasio said Hataway is capable of anything, and she's not ruling out that he may know what happened to missing University of Central Florida student Jennifer Kesse.

"If they found more than one body with my daughter, it would not surprise me," she said. "I would be upset, but I wouldn't be shocked or surprised or anything."

Members of Texas Equusearch, the same group that searched for slain toddler Caylee Anthony, spent a week on horseback searching in wooded area for Ocasio. Searchers honed in on an area that police said Hataway used to illegally dump trash.

The most serious charge against Hataway carries the maximum penalty life in prison if convicted.

Some psychics from out of state have contacted them by email with suggestions on where to search. "I don't believe in certain things like that, but I don't want to discount anything at this point," Joe Ocasio said.

On Sunday, Joe and local Equusearch crews spent the day searching through more wooded areas in Ocoee.

Tracy's parents say some of the psychic's tips are in locations that person of interest James Hataway may have been familiar with, including a creek area near Ocoee High School.

The Ocasio's hope to hear more from investigators this week about a computer seized from Hataway's father's home.

Deputies say man kidnapped, raped Orange County woman

Deputies are searching for the man accused of kidnapping and raping an Orange County woman.

The 27-year-old victim told Orange County sheriff's deputies she was visiting friends Saturday at the Colonial Terrace Apartments, at 3324 W. Colonial Drive, when a man kidnapped her.

She said that sometime around 5 a.m., the man pulled her into a car and drove to a home near Avalon Road in Tildenville. He held her there for some time and raped her, records show.

The victim escaped and reported the incident from a Circle K convenience store.

The computers were taken from Hataway's Ocoee home in June during the execution of a search warrant.

Police said the computers did not reveal any information about Ocasio's whereabouts, but did note that Hataway showed an interest in Neo-Nazi propaganda.

The computer was used to search suicide after Hataway was initially question in Ocasio's disappearance, police said.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- On Thursday morning, investigators plan to follow up on an unusual tip in the search for Tracy Ocasio. Police will be looking into a tip given to the family by psychics.

Joe Ocasio, Tracy's father, took photographs of an area that a psychic mentioned behind Ocoee High School. That is where Joe Ocasio discovered some suspicious-looking mounds of dirt. As a result, crews will scour the area today.

Also, a new computer search shows the prime suspect in Ocasio's disappearance had been researching suicide.

Two weeks ago, detectives confiscated James Hataway's computer to search it for evidence.

Their search shows he spent hours looking up suicide, right after police first questioned him about Ocasio.

Ocoee police could search a wooded lot near Ocoee High School in the coming days to look for clues to find missing Tracy Ocasio.

A tipster alerted the Ocasio family last week about an area near the school and said Ocasio may be located there.

The woman, who is likely a psychic, told the family to search an area off of Nola Road near Lake Apopka, said mother Liz Ocasio.

On Sunday, the missing woman's father, Joe Ocasio, went to the area and found strange mounds of dirt.

That's when he turned the tip over to police, Liz Ocasio said.

James Hataway is listed as the person of interest in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance. She hasn't been seen alive since May 27. Hataway told police Ocasio gave him a ride home from a MetroWest bar following an Orlando Magic playoff game and then left.

Her car, a yellow Chevrolet Cobalt, was found unlocked and abandoned blocks from Hataway's house.

Police are reportedly trying to gain access to the land off Nola Road, which is near Lake Apopka's east side, in order to conduct a thorough search.

Last month, investigators searched another area near Lake Apopka that was known as a childhood fishing hole for Hataway.

Investigators seized two computer towers from Hataway's home two weeks ago after getting a tip that he was interested in the "dark arts," suicide, murder and cannibalism.

Forensic investigators searched the computer and found no clues that could lead them to Ocasio, police said Wednesday.

However, someone used the computer to search for information about suicide the same day detectives questioned Hataway about Ocasio's disappearance.

There was also evidence of the user's interest in Neo-Nazi propaganda.

Apopka police are looking into Hataway's connection to a man who has been missing since February.

Hataway and a few friends were seen leaving a wooded area near where Onda "Christopher" George's crashed and abandoned vehicle was found.

He was reported missing about a week later by his mother. The group told police they were in the area to look for their missing friend. He has not been found.

Earlier this week, the Seminole-Brevard State Attorney's Office charged Hataway with battery, kidnapping and robbery in an unrelated August 2008 in which he allegedly tried to strangle a woman who gave him a ride home from a party.

Ocoee police have not charged Hataway in connection to Ocasio's disappearance.

Anyone with information is urged by investigators to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $5,000.

We may have to open our minds to the fact that she used drugs as a part of this culture of friends - even though it was likely not on the scale of usage/experimentation of others such as Hataway, etc. When we let down those mental barriers regarding Tracy, perhaps we will be able to more clearly see the bigger picture or the proverbial “forest from the trees”.

Not placing judgement. Not trying to place doubt on character. Worded as delicately as I could. I just believe we need to take all blinders off to be able to locate beautiful dear Tracy.

I in NO WAY am saying that this lovely young woman was a bad person, or that she did anything to deserve this. ABSOLUTELY NOT. We just need to acknowledge all of her friends, hangouts, behaviors, etc. in order to be able to figure this all out. . . Which is, of course, the bottom line for even discussing this.

NO ONE IS PERFECT or free from vice. In the words of Elizabeth Taylor years ago, when being condemned by the media for marrying again, (paraphrased): "...one may not admit to any vices, but you can damn well be certain that they do have some pretty annoying virtues..." (One of my all time favorite quotes!)

My heart goes out to the Ocasio family - their pain is so palpable. I truly wish there was something more that I could do for them. I honestly do.

I keep re-reading this & mulling it over in my mind as I go through the day. As we continue to attempt to decipher the meaning of the message, I keep asking myself who it was addressed to . . . and why. The poster is clearly speaking to whomever is searching for Tracy, alluding to 'someone' is waiting for her to be found; almost like a taunt. Who else could they be speaking to besides LE, whom they know reads Blink's forum - or that Blink is at least in contact with LE regarding information? Could that also speak to "...we had a code asshole"? Referring to the code between LE & informants? It has been intimated that one amongst this 'gang' is a 'snitch' - I believe it was Paul Hutto (don't know if that was just speculation). Certainly just looking at the records of these criminals reveals that some seem to continually escape prosecution . . . which does in turn scream INFORMANT (to me, anyway) . . . OR, unfortunately perhaps, a member of LE that has been doing some under the table dealings with said informants on the side . . . . .

Is it possible that this could be a message from an informant (Paul Hutto?) to such a person in LE? Someone in LE who might know more about what happened to Tracy, but is keeping 'SILENT' to cover their own behind?

Edward - I agree re: Tracy & a penchant for Bad Boy types . . . being the kind soul who looks for the good in them, intending to try to make them a better person, make their life better, be the best thing to happen to them, whatever.

Not saying that as a derogatory comment, just speaking to behavior. The reason why acknowleging this behavior is important to this case: it opens up the realm of those whom she has associated with. Whether this was new or unusual behavior for her is not relevant, beyond finding that one person with the knowledge of where Tracy is. We have to face the fact that Tracy recently chose some very unsavory characters to associate with or even date. No idea if that was a part of her character previously throughout her life - people most definitely do change.

I  believe that the answer lies within this circle of acquaintances - the Hataway/Hutto/Toole/etc. connection. Hataway is only one piece of the puzzle - he alone does not complete it.

You and I have spoken of this very fact before I believe, Edward - that the 21st century Bad Boy is WAAAAY more dangerous than the old fashioned James Dean persona of the 50's.

I and You have witnessed in our lives many kinds of males that become Animal when Alcohol Drugs or Dominate positions and other factors come into play.. It is not always the Bad Boys as I have seen sorority boys do this too.. Lets not forget about Joran and Deepak or even situations like in the movie Deliverance, which can be considered REAL, especially inside of prison.
Dominate male behavior is common all over the world no matter what the penalty may be.

In this case Tracy was in fact leading these types of boys around by there noses as witnessed in the Bar video..
I see many females doing this with the Bad Boy types these days.. They drive them around in there cars on the freeways and the Dom Male Lowrides in the passenger seat like he is some Pimp..
We do some work in a prison at my company and I can not tell you how many times I have witnessed some "Crazy" Male being released and some lone GIRL comes and picks him up in her car.. He grabs her any which way he wants in front of witnesses and they both jump in her car and drive off into hell together, with her driving..

Has anyone torn up the Police Call reports?

There is a 911 call hang up on Wyoming Court on 5/27 at 6:04PM- Hutto House.
Gee- no idea why anyone would want to check out a 911 hang up, possibly from the home of an individual who has a CURRENT COMPLAINT lodged by a woman he had an open altercation with, who happened to go missing that morning?

I will have to admit Blink, I haven't had time to give them my full attention.  One thing stood out at me:  the numerous "suspicious persons & suspicious vehicle" reports for Tracy's street.  Was "someone" watching her?

From what I have found so far, this man is highly respected with a long and decorous record of service - and a plethora of connections. Hataway becomes the lure, "as he has earned her trust" that allows him to have Tracy drive to a spot where Paul can get even with her.

Hutto feels he has the cops in his pocket as the police NEED him for information he holds on some other case..

OK ..He does get in her vehicle and drive out the driveway and at some point he steps out of the vehicle and somebody else steps into her vehicle.. Could have happened at any stop light or stop sign.. But someplace without witness..

In order to pass the lie detector, he has to have no knowledge of anything to be safe..

But that also puts some other persons DNA in her car..
In order to keep another persons DNA out of her car she would have had to been coxed to drive to another location and for her to get out of her vehicle of her own accord before the ambush takes place..
Then Hattaway returns her vehicle ? He would have been there to witness an ambush.. ?

If there are no videos to the contrary, my money is on she was put in another car and Hataway was used to take her car and park it where it was to be found, throwing the suspicion and evidence only on him who could pass a polygraph since he had no knowledge what happened to her.

I don't believe this was their "first rodeo" and from what I can find there needs to be a lot of other deaths and disappearances looked at again.

I'm going out on a limb here by saying this as I have nothing to back it so it's JMO.  You guys know more about whats going on than I do.

What if JH did get a ride home from Tracy and she actually dropped him off and then things took a turn for the worst?  I am not in anyway defending JH.  He's a creep.  But the story doesn't match up.  Maybe Hutto bros staged a breakdown en route that they know Tracy would travel.  She stopped to help, things went badly.

Very interesting about Hutto, the gun shots and 911 call Blink. We don't hear much on the news lately about Tracy.  Ocoee is approx 10 miles from where I live.  Her disappearance along with Jennifer Kesse's seem too much a like in that they both just "went missing" and frequent the same area.

OCOEE -- Police conducted a new search Wednesday in the Tracy Ocasio case.

The Ocoee Police Department searched a large area behind the Kangaroo convenience store in the 400 block of Franklin Street.

Officials said they searched the area because it is close to where Ocasio's cell phone last received calls.

After three hours of searching, officials said they found no evidence that would lead to her whereabouts.

Ocasio hasn't been seen alive since late May when she gave James Hataway a ride home from a MetroWest bar.

Hataway is considered a person of interest in the case. He said she was fine when she dropped him off.

He remains locked up on unrelated charge.

Hataway has also been charged in an attack on another woman.

The man who Ocoee police believe is involved in the disappearance of missing Tracy Ocasio pleaded not guilty this morning to an unrelated criminal mischief charge.

James Hataway is accused of punching a woman's van in April. He was one of about 30 people crossing A.D. Mims road, and the driver, Donnagh Robinson slowed to let them cross. She heard a bang and her niece identified Hataway as the person who hit the ven.

He spoke only a few words during the short hearing and glanced briefly at Liz Ocasio who was sitting in the front row behind a glass partition in the jailhouse courtroom.

Hataway is listed as the only person of interest in Ocasio's May disappearance. He has not been charged in that case. Ocasio was last seen leaving a MetroWest bar with Hataway on May 27 following an Orlando Magic playoff game. Hataway told police Ocasio gave him a ride home to his house and then left. Her car was found unlocked and abandoned a short walk from his house a day later.

"I'm going to be there every time he is in court," Liz Ocasio said. "If he doesn't know my face, he will. I'm going to be here every time."

It's been 49 days since Tracy Ocasio was last seen and Liz Ocasio is no longer hopeful her daughter will be found alive.

"If I had to lose my daughter to put this piece of trash away, then I guess that's what had to happen," she said.

Ocoee police will be conducting another search in the coming days to look for clues in the woman's disappearance. Searchers have not found any sign of Ocasio since she disappeared.

If Liz Ocasio had the opportunity to say one thing to Hataway, she said he'd ask one thing: "Where's my daughter?"

"I'm convinced he had everything to do with my daughter's disappearance," Liz Ocasio said. "She was a good, decent person. She didn't deserve this."

Liz Ocasio urges anyone with information about her daughter's case or about Hataway to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477.

Investigators are considering the discovery of a woman's body in a rural part of north Orange County a "suspicious death."

Sheriff's deputies from the Orange County Sheriff's Office said a jogger smelled an unusual odor in the 4700 block of Ondich Road in north Apopka sometime before 8:20 a.m.

Spokesman Jim Solomons said the body has been there for some time

Foul Odor Leads Jogger To Woman's Body
Body Found Near Apopka

A woman on a morning walk finds a body near Apopka.

APOPKA, Fla. -- A woman jogging along an Orange County road Tuesday morning noticed a foul odor and discovered a body, deputies said.

The body of an adult white female was found about 20 feet off Ondich Road near Apopka, according to Orange County sheriff's deputies.

Investigators said there were "obvious signs of homicide" but would not disclose how the woman died.

Deputies said the body had been in the area for at least a few days. The body is not that of Tracy Ocasio, an Ocoee woman who has been missing since May 26.

FDLE Testing DNA In Missing Ocoee Woman Case

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News has learned that investigators are waiting on DNA tests on possible evidence in the case of missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio. Sources with knowledge of the investigation say the evidence may show a sexual encounter happened in Ocasio's car.

Ocoee police investigators confirm DNA was collected but will not confirm if it was semen, saliva or sweat. Since test results have not come back, they do not know if the DNA sample is from primary suspect James Hataway.

"A person who owned it previously could have been a teenager or young adult who had a good time in the car," commented Liz Ocasio, Tracy's mother.

Police do not know when the DNA test results will be back from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement laboratory.

Surveillance video shows the 27-year-old leaving the Florida Tap Room in Metrowest with James Hataway on the early morning hours of May 27. The next day, Ocasio's car was found not far from Hataway's home, but there was no sign of the missing woman.

Police have named James Hataway a person of interest in the case.

 Liz Ocasio has vowed to go to every one of James Hataway's court dates -- even if sometimes he isn't present.

Ocasio drove to the Orange County Courthouse this morning for Hataway's pretrial hearing in an unrelated criminal mischief case, but he wasn't there. The public defender representing Hataway was scheduled to meet with the judge in his chambers, but Hataway was never transported from the Orange County Jail where he is being held.

"Any time he's in court I want to be there," Ocasio said. "Even if he's never charged with what he did to my daughter, I want him to see me."

Hataway, 28, is the only person of interest in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance on May 27. Hataway has not been charged in that case.

In a separate case in Seminole County, Hataway's attorney today entered pleas of not guilty on his behalf. Hataway is charged there with trying to choke a woman following a night out last summer.

Tracy Ocasio, 27, vanished about 1:30 a.m. after watching an Orlando Magic game at MetroWest neighborhood bar. Hataway told police Tracy Ocasio had given him a ride home from the bar and then left.

Massive searches have found no sign of the woman. Her car was found abandoned and unlocked just a few blocks from Hataway's home.

"May 27 is the day she [tracy Ocasio] went phone-silent," Liz Ocasio said. "It's been two months and I don't even remember what my life was like before that."

Drew and Joyce Kesse, whose daughter Jennifer Kesse went missing from her condo in Jan. 2006, have organized a large scale search for this weekend. The search will utilize sonar equipment, dogs and professional searchers to look for Jennifer Kesse and Tracy Ocasio.

"Hopefully this weekend we'll find my daughter," Liz Ocasio said. "I thank the Kesse's for organizing the search and also looking for Tracy."

Liz Ocasio said she would love if her daughter would walk through the door and announce she's home, but knows the chance of that happening is slim.

"I know we're searching for bones; a body," Liz Ocasio said. "But I can't go much further than that."

That photo of mom is so far beyond Sad that it hurts to look at it...

Everyone knows he is involved to one degree or another.. Still no confession and no Tracy.

He is playing everyone out in a game of silence.. Either he is the guilty party or he is protecting the guilty party.

What is missing is the outside camera images showing Tracy and himself getting into her vehicle.. Where were the police when that happened ? They have a sub station in that complex..There Must be outside surveillance cameras..
Then there is traffic cams at signals on the streets if available and any and all private party surveillance cameras on homes and businesses that may have shown them in travel at any point...
There is DNA from the vehicle and Dirt samples from the carpets and tires too.. and much more ..

Yet they leave everyone to believe there is nothing more..

Just like this case.. They have him but not her.. and it was all witnessed and she even called out for help.. Still..

Oh Edward, I so agree on the anguish the family is enduring.. I pray that answers are revealed quickly.

 Ocoee police are investigating a tip that may lead them closer to finding Tracy Ocasio.

A tipster reported seeing Ocasio's yellow Chevrolet cobalt parked on the wrong side of a two-lane road near a wooded area the night she disappeared.

It's the first credible tip that police have had about the missing 27-year-old's car since it was found abandoned near James Hataway's home hours after she was reported missing on May 27.

Hataway, 28, is the only person of interest in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance. He told police she gave him a ride home from a MetroWest bar and left. He was the last person to see her alive.

"It's finally a good decent lead," Liz Ocasio said. "We're just hoping that they can find something, but at the same time fearing that they will."

The tipster told police he thought about stopping to check on the car because he thought someone had broken down. But he kept driving after thinking it was suspicious for a car to be in that area, parked on the wrong side of the road in the middle of the night, Liz Ocasio said.

Police would not release details about the location where the tipster believes he saw Ocasio's car.

The parents of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse have organized a search to look for their missing daughter this weekend. Some of the search areas overlap possible locations where Ocasio may be located, Liz Ocasio said. It wasn't clear if the search teams would look in the wooded area where her car was seen by the tipster.

"The search this weekend is for Jennifer," Liz Ocasio said. "But since some of the areas overlap, they won't just walk over her [tracy Ocasio] if they find her."

Large scale searches conducted earlier this summer by Texas EquuSearch didn't yield any clues about Ocasio's whereabouts. Ocoee officers could search the new area next week.

Hataway is being held at the Orange County Jail on drug paraphernalia charges as well as a prior, unrelated criminal mischief charge. He is also facing serious charges in Seminole County for an attack on a woman who was giving him a ride home last summer.

Liz Ocasio said she wants any woman who came in contact with Hataway and felt threatened or was hurt to come forward to police.

"He's in jail and is going to be in jail for a long time," Liz Ocasio said of Hataway. "If they were scared at any time, gave him a ride home and was bothered by what he did or was hurt -- let the police know about it."

The same kind of tip lead investigators to discover a suitcase with a little girls body in it not so long ago in Tracy California..

Joe Ocasio said police are working with a man who says he saw a small, yellow car parked on the wrong side of Binion Road in the Apopka area on the morning Tracy Ocasio went missing.

Ocasio said the area has been searched because it was considered a possible dumping ground for James Hataway. He's the person of interest in Tracy's disappearance.

Tracy Ocasio drove a yellow 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, which was eventually found abandoned in Ocoee near the home where Hataway lived with his father. She has been missing since May 27 and was last seen leaving a bar in Metro West with Hataway.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators may have a new lead in the disappearance of missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio.

A man who has been in Ohio for the last several months returned to Orlando and told police he saw what looked like Ocasio's car the night she disappeared in a wooded area near Binion Road off Apopka-Ocoee.

Police say that the tip is credible and that it fits the timeline of the Ocasio case.

On Saturday, a search team looking for Jennifer Kesse will also search for Ocasio in the area indicated by the tip.

OCOEE -- There may be a new search this weekend for missing woman Tracy Ocasio.

Her parents said police are looking into a credible tip of a car that was found in a wooded area.

However, Ocoee police have not released the exact location of the car.

Ocasio has been missing since late May when she gave James Hataway a ride home from a MetroWest bar.

Meanwhile, a large scale search for Jennifer Kesse is planned for this weekend.
The search is being organized by Kesse's parents.

Kesse has been missing since 2006, and there is some speculation that Hataway may also be connected to her disappearance.

Trained volunteers from across Florida will meet at the First Baptist Church of Orlando.

Ocasio's mother said if there is time after the search for Kesse, they will also search the tipster area for any signs of Tracy Ocasio.

"How do you decide? I don't understand when people ask us, 'When will you give up?'" said Joyce Kesse, Jennifer's mother. "I just can't wrap my head around it."

Joyce and her husband, Drew, stood united on Saturday, front and center as professional searchers prepared to head out and look for their daughter.

The last time anyone saw Jennifer Kesse was Jan. 24, 2006. Authorities said they believe someone abducted her at or near her Orlando apartment in the Mosaic at Millenia condo complex.

Almost four years later, her parents seemed as hopeful as ever and refused to give up on finding their only daughter.

"We're not letting evil win twice," Joyce Kesse said. "That's probably one of our biggest things. Evil will not win twice."
"We have lives," Drew Kesse said. "We understand bad happens, we do. We are doing things about it. It just can't rip you until you can't do anything about it...then what good are you?"

Searchers are trekking through the thick brush in the heat, hoping to find any clues over the weekend.

Mike Coffey, a professional and certified searcher with Search and Rescue of Central Florida, is also a schoolteacher.

"I take the love of helping people and the love of being in the woods and, voila, I am here," he said.

When asked if he'd ever give up, he said, "No not at all. There's always hope, you know? You just keep doing what you can do and keep hoping."

The Kesses said they'll never give up hope for their daughter.

The search for her and Ocasio will resume Sunday morning.

ORLANDO -- More than six hours of searching Saturday produced no evidence in the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse, a woman who disappeared without a trace in 2006.

For the latest search, half a dozen teams of certified search and rescue volunteers looked at areas by her home near the Mall at Millenia. The search was centered around the intersection of John Young Parkway and Presidents Drive.

These same spots were covered before but searchers didn't find anything.

Neither Orlando police nor Orange County deputies are involved in today's search.

The volunteers covered a three-mile radius around the intersection and called it off to avoid rising temperature. But they will return Sunday.

"It's painful for me. We know the statistics and we know the realities," said Joyce Kesse, Jennifer's mom.
The searchers relied on an unusual tool, a radio-controlled aircraft equipped with a remote control camera.
 
The only clue in the case is a three-year-old surveillance video of a man seen getting out of her car nearby then walking away.

Kesse is not the only case volunteers are looking into.

Searchers also covered the same ground looking out for any signs of Tracy Ocasio of Ocoee who has been missing since May.

Some areas in the Kesse case overlap areas where they are seeking clues in the Ocasio search.

Police are still examining a credible tip in the Ocasio case after a man came forward saying he saw Ocasio's car parked along a road the night she disappeared. The yellow Chevrolet Cobalt was seen parked on the wrong side of a two-lane road near a wooded area around the time she disappeared.

Saturday marked the first time Kesse's parents met Liz Ocasio, Tracy's mom.

Liz Ocasio vowed in July to dog James Hataway, possibly the last person to see Tracy Ocasio, at every court appearance.

Tracy Ocasio has been missing since she gave James Hataway a ride home from a MetroWest bar.

Hataway remains the only person of interest in her disappearance.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The search for Jennifer Kesse continues in Orange County.

Kesse disappeared in January of 2006 when she was abducted outside her Orlando apartment.

Several search groups gathered at the search command post Saturday morning to go over what areas they would be searching.

In addition to manpower, searchers used an amphibious car, K-9 search teams, and airboats in an attempt to rule out more areas where Kesse could be.

For Jennifer’s mother, Joyce Kesse, their search seems endless, but the searching helps, even if nothing is found.

"We don't know what happened. We don't know if she's dead, but hopefully something will be revealed."

The search will continue all weekend. Local law enforcement is not involved in the search but say they will be ready and available if anything is found.

At one point, search teams were also going to search an area of interest in the case of Missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio. They have since decided to call off that search, saying the Kesse search area is so large they wont have the time or resources to search another area.

ORLANDO -- The newest search for Jennifer Kesse wrapped up Sunday with no signs of the missing Orlando woman.
   
Nearly three dozen specially trained volunteers, along with search dogs, were back out near Kesse's home near the Mall at Millenia searching for any signs that could help in the investigation.

Searchers went into the weekend knowing it would be tough to find any clues.  But they say their work in Central Florida may not be done.
   
They now say they're working on a new search for missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio.

"That is in the planning stage at this point,” said searcher Joe St. Cyr.  “We've been in the planning stages with the family, but we also need to contact Ocoee police before we do any type of search but that is in the works at this time."

Ocasio hasn't been seen since late May when she left a MetroWest bar with James Hataway.  He's a person of interest in the case.  Hataway is behind bars on other charges.

LE sponsored exactly one 1/2 day search (sponsored meaning they provided security and lunch to searchers) for TES in an area previously searched (allegedly by LE). That's it. I completely agree with you. There's plenty of drug busts, therefore drug money in evidence in there, maybe they should take a clue from OCSO. From an inset command perspective, the family is the very last people that should be coordinating a search; breaks my heart.

Lastly, I dont believe they are not releasing the woman's name that was found on 7/21 because they cannot locate next of kin. Their was no missing person report outstanding so they had to ID her somehow. I guess it did not occur to them that if they know who she is but cant find her family, announcing who she is via the news will potentially find them and generate leads.

What a contrast from OCSO.

I did not, I was on location on another case, but I was speaking to several that were. It was professional teams only, no volunteers, no new clues. I am hopeful however, they are going to plot a seperate search for Tracy. Personally, I think they should be focusing more on the area around Jenn's work than her condo.

OCOEE, Fla. -- Eyewitness News has confirmed that police will search a new location this week for the body of missing Ocoee woman, Tracy Ocasio.

They received a credible tip that Tracy's car was spotted on Binion Road on the border of Apopka and Ocoee the night she disappeared.

The tip perfectly matches the police timeline.

The tipster told officers that he came around the corner on Binion Road and that's when he saw headlights facing the wrong way and coming from a bright yellow car. It was hours after Tracy disappeared.

The call came in through Crimeline and by Thursday the tip had been verified and the search zone cross checked. Police knew where they needed to look, and knew it was an area that had not been searched before.

"I'm really praying and hoping what he saw was our daughter's car. It narrows the search what happened to her," said Joe Ocasio, Tracy's father.

The area was suppose to be searched over the weekend by a team looking for Jennifer Kesse, but those searchers ran out of time and that's when Ocoee police started coordinating their own team. One problem is that the search area borders Apopka and now two jurisdictions have to be involved.

"I wanted to know are we coming here tonight, I can help, are we here in the morning," said Joe Ocasio.

69 days after their daughter Tracy left the Tap Room with James Hataway, the Ocasios know a little more about her whereabouts than they did the night she disappeared.

"We need to find out who's done this that will bring closure, this is by far not over, and we hope, we do find her," said Joe Ocasio.

Those answers could lie with the latest tip, a man who works at Disney and returned from a business trip only to realize he may hold the key. He told police he drives a bright yellow Mustang and that's why the bright yellow car, similar to Tracy's, he saw that night stuck out in his head.

Ocoee police are working to coordinate agencies, cadaver dogs and ATVs to search the woods on Wednesday.

James Hataway is the prime suspect in Tracy Ocasio's disappearance. His next court date is currently set for August 10.

Hataway is being held at the Seminole County jail on unrelated charges. He's accused of attacking a Casselberry woman.

Tracy Ocasio's birthday is just a few days away. On August 10, she'll be 28.

The area was suppose to be searched over the weekend by a team looking for Jennifer Kesse, but those searchers ran out of time and that's when Ocoee police started coordinating their own team. One problem is that the search area borders Apopka and now two jurisdictions have to be involved.

It was brief tonight, but she said both families will be on tomorrow.  A man who was away on a trip, returned and heard about the yellow car - he saw a yellow car parked backwards somewhere (I didn't catch where) and the lead is promising - so JVM makes it sound so.  Looks like they are trying to get another search together for this weekend - hope to find both girls.

APOPKA, Fla. -- Police on Wednesday told Local 6 News that a bag of bones was discovered during a search for Tracy Ocasio, who has been missing since May
It's not known, however, if the remains, which were found during a search in the area off Binion Road in Apopka, belong to a human or an animal. The bones will be sent to a lab for testing, police said.

The Ocoee Police Department, along with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and investigators from the Apopka Police Department, are scouring the area after police received a Crimeline tip from a commuter who recalled seeing a vehicle that fit the description of Ocasio's car.

The tipster was out of town for weeks and returned recently, police said.

The 27-year-old Ocoee woman was last seen alive leaving the Florida Tap Room, MetroWest bar, on May 27 with James Hataway, who is a person of interest in the case. Hataway, 28, remains jailed on unrelated charges.

Hataway told police that Ocasio gave him a ride home and left. Her car, a yellow Chevrolet Cobalt, was found abandoned hours later near Hataway's home.

Crimeline is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information regarding the case. Anyone with information is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

Police officials say three different sets of animal bones were found. The search is over for today. The bones found during the search for a missing Ocoee woman will be sent to the medical examiner to double check they are from animals.

The search for an Ocoee woman who has been missing since May 27 ended for today after officials discovered only animal bones and trash.

The search for Tracy Ocasio ended before noon after less than three hours.

Initially, it was not clear if it was a human or animal bone when the first one was discovered this morning. Later, an officer told the Sentinel it was an animal bone.

More than a dozen searchers covered and probed the wooded area near Apopka with long sticks. Searchers sifted through mounds of trash, knocked away large spiders and cut through thick brush.

Liz Ocasio, Tracy's mother, was hopeful about the search. She visited the search site today, and she said all she wants is her daughter to come home.

"Hopefully they will find her today. I'm so ready for that," she said this morning. "You're never ready to find your daughter deceased, but I'm really ready for this chapter to be over."

A tipster told police recently that he saw Ocasio's car parked on the wrong side of the road sometime after 2 a.m. on the night she went missing. Police said it's the first credible tip they've received about Ocasio's car.

"This is the best lead we've had so far," Liz Ocasio said. "Hopefully this is where he came. Hopefully this is where whatever happened, happened."

Ocasio said her daughter's disappearance has been hard on her family.

Her son, Joey, turns to his church for support, she said.

"My husband is totally consumed with finding her," she said. "I just take it day by day. We all do."

Police, along with FDLE agents, began searching at 9 a.m.

Officers with cadaver dogs and ATVs scoured the area near Binion Road near the Ocoee- Apopka border earlier. Today the group searched on foot.

Tracy Ocasio was last seen alive on May 27 when she left a MetroWest bar with James Hataway. Police interviewed Hataway, 28, who told them she gave him a ride home from the bar and then left. He claims he doesn't know where she is or could have gone.

Police say Hataway is the only person of interest in Ocasio's disappearance.

Ocasio's car, a yellow Chevrolet Cobalt, was found abandoned a few blocks away from Hataway's home on May 27.

Hataway is being held at the Orange County Jail on unrelated charges.

Anyone with information about Ocasio or her disappearance is urged by Ocoee police to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477. Tipsters are eligible to receive up to a $5,000 reward and can remain anonymous.

Anyways.. consider that the car was in this position.. Note all possible roads from the bar to this point and then roads from this cars position to where the car was found..
search all along the way.. consider septics at any and all vacant homes along the routes.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - The father of a missing Ocoee woman says he is willing to put in some of his own money to find his daughter.

Surveillance video shows the 27-year-old leaving the Florida Tap Room in Metrowest with James Hataway on the early morning hours of May 27. The next day, Ocasio's car was found not far from Hataway's home, but there was no sign of the missing woman

On Monday Joe Ocasio said he is meeting with Crimeline to up the reward for information on his missing daughter Tracy Ocasio. The Crimeline reward is $5000.00 and Joe Ocasio wants to up the reward to $10,000.00 with his own money.

The Ocoee Police Department is hoping the boost in money will bring someone forward with information on where the missing woman might be.

A criminal mischief trial for James Hataway, the person of interest in her disappearance, was scheduled for Monday morning but was postponed.

August 10 is Tracy Ocasio's 28th birthday.

OCOEE, Fla. -- Missing Ocoee woman, Tracy Ocasio, would have turned 28 years old Monday.

Her parents, Joe and Liz Ocasio, chose to celebrate their daughter's birthday by visiting detectives and taking money out of their own savings account to double to Crimeline reward from $5,000 to $10,000.

Monday morning the Ocasios tried to attend a court appearance for James Hataway. He's the only person of interest in their daughter's disappearance. Hataway's court date was postponed. The couple vows to attend every one of Hataway's court dates.

Tracy Ocasio has been missing since May 27. She was last seen leaving a Metrowest bar with Hataway. Her car was found abandoned not far from Hataway's home but despite weeks of searching, no evidence of her has been found.

Hataway is currently jailed in connection with a violent assault on another woman.

Other Central Florida families are also marking milestones to remember missing persons.

It has been exactly six months Monday since anybody saw 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings. There's a $35,000 reward for information that could lead to the Putnam County girl.

She was last seen in her Satsuma home on Feb. 10. Haleigh's sixth birthday is next Monday.

Family members are also marking Trenton Duckett's fifth birthday Monday.

The Lake County boy has been missing since 2006.

Just a few months ago, detectives released an age-progressed photo to show what Trenton may look like now. So far, it has not produced any credible leads.

Trenton's father joined George and Cindy Anthony Sunday to mark what would have been Caylee Anthony's fourth birthday.

The toddler was found dead last December. Her mother, Casey Anthony, is charged with her murder.

OCOEE -- The family of missing woman, Tracy Ocasio, has asked Crimeline double the reward in the case from $5,000 to $10,0000. The family is also asking for more searches for the woman.

The family says they want to meet with Ocoee police to ask about having a group that helped in the search for
Jennifer Kesse come out and help with a search for Tracy.

Ocoee police must agree to the search before the group will help in the case.

Ocasio disappeared May and was last seen leaving the Tap Room bar in Metrowest with James Hataway.

He is in jail on separate charges, but is considered a person of interest in the case.

Several areas between Metrowest and Ocoee have already been searched for any sign of Ocasio.

So far, those searches have not turned up any new leads.

It's the second time this week the Crimeline reward has doubled. On Monday, the day Ocasio would have turned 28 years old, Joe and Liz Ocasio announced that they had taken $5,000 from their savings account to increase the reward.

"I was totally blown away and speechless," Joe Ocasio said of Dr Jeffrey J. Sevor's offer to double the reward. "Here is a man I barely know outside his office chair not only taking time to tell me how much he cared but giving his own money to help find our daughter."

Ocasio also said the Central Florida Search and Rescue group has contacted Ocoee detectives and has formally offered its help.

The reward for information on a missing Ocoee woman's whereabouts was doubled Wednesday to $20,000.

It's the second time this week that the reward doubled.

This time, Winter Park periodontist Jefrey Sevor has agreed to put up $10,000, said Joe Ocasio, Tracy's father. Sevor did some dental work for Joe Ocasio.

"I broke down crying," Ocasio said. "Here's a man I barely know, and he comes and does something like this."

Joe Ocasio and his wife, Liz, on Monday pledged $5,000 toward the reward.

Tracy Ocasio, whose 28th birthday was Monday, has been missing since late May. She was last seen leaving a MetroWest bar with a man who is now in the Orange County Jail on charges related to an attack on another woman.

"We're hoping that money spurs some kind of leads that will make somebody come forwad with knowledge about this case," Ocasio said.

He also said Central Florida Search and Rescue, a volunteer group, has offered to help search for his daughter.

A woman found dead last month near Apopka has been identified as Brenda Revel, 28.

The body was found by a jogger in the 4700 block of Ondich Road July 21. She noticed a foul smell coming from the woods about 7:30 a.m., and spotted the body as she approached the area.

Revel's remains had been at the site for at least two days. Deputies did not disclose how Revel was killed. No arrests have been made in the case, spokesman Jim Solomons said.

Hello!  Long time reader, never posted.  I live in Orlando and I am watching Wipeout on ABC.  There was a message on a ticker on the bottom of the screen that says "Breaking News... Investigators are on the sceen... a body has been found.   A tip that mentioned "Tracy Ocasio" led investigators to search.  Hopefully one of our missing has been found.  I can't find any coverage on the local stations or news sites so I can't provide a link.  Hopefully it will be up soon.

A tip to Crimeline hinted that the body might be that of Tracy Ocasio, the 27-year-old woman missing since May, authorities said. The remains were said to have been found at a veterinary clinic that is no longer being used.

But an Orange Sheriff's spokesman said investigators don't know yet what they have, if anything.

 Investigators are trying to determine whether a body found tonight in west Orange County is that of missing Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio.

A tip to Ocoee police about 6 p.m., via Crimeline, said the remains were in a freezer at an abandoned animal shelter, said Ocoee police Sgt. Mike Bryant. The caller said officers should investigate whether the body is that of Ocasio, who was 27 when she vanished after leaving a MetroWest bar in late May.

Police asked the Orange County Sheriff's Office to investigate since the area near Winter Garden is in their jurisdiction. They found bags with signs of decomposing remains inside and summoned the Orange-Osceola County Medical Examiner's Office, Bryant said.

"If it is a human body, we didn't want to disturb it," he said.

A medical examiner is expected to be able to determine in the next hour whether the body or bodies are human or animal. If they're human, they will be taken to the Medical Examiner's Office and tested further.

The shelter was on Avalon Road in a rural area.

OCOEE, Fla. -- Police in Ocoee are at the scene where a body may have been found Wednesday night.

Ocoee police Sgt. Mike Bryant said investigators responded to a former animal shelter in the 5000 block of Avalon Road.

Bryant said a tip was called in to Crimeline that a man believed missing Central Florida woman Tracy Ocasio's body was in a freezer at the shelter. Ocasio disappeared May 28. Her car was found abandoned in Ocoee, where she lived.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office was called to investigate Wednesday night.

Police said two bags were found in a freezer showing decomposition. Bryant said the bags may contain animals or other material, but he did not know exactly what that material was.

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Orange County homicide detectives are investigating a Crimeline tip which has led them to a decomposing body.  A crime scene has been established at an old animal shelter and clinic located in the 5800 block of Avalon Rd. in Winter Garden.

Authorities said the tip was in relation to the missing Ocoee woman, Tracy Ocasio.  Ocasio was last seen on the morning of May 26.  Surveillance video taken from a Metrowest bar, Florida Tap Room, shows her leaving with a man later identified as James Hataway, 28, also of Ocoee.  Hataway was arrested almost a full week after Ocasio's disapearance on drug-related charges.  He was also named as a person of interest in the disappearance of the 27-year-old Ocasio.

Investigators have yet to confirm whether the body is that of an animal or a human, but early reports indicate that the remains are in a state of decomposition and there are traces of chemicals which detectives believe have been used to accelerate that process and mask any odor.

The Orange County Medical examiner is on scene and assisting detectives.
