My oldest son graduated from high school the same year Nat did.  This is what got me here.  He's moved on from the athlete in high school that was 4th in the state in tackles as a nose guard.  He could have played catcher at any college, but anyway...

My youngest son is in the marching band, so we're back to the sports.  I can't describe the feeling I get when I look for my son and he's not out there making tackles, but I do get to see my other son jamming in the stands.

Last week, someone showed up at the game, wearing a carlos n charlies tee-shirt.  An older, probably out of the story of Nat, he may not have know.  I wanted to confront this person, and remind him we still live in Jefferson County, in ALabama and we do not forget our children taken from us.  But, I didn't.  I didn't know how violent it may get, and I sure didn't want it to happen in front of the homefield stands.

How should I handle this situation?

told ya it was long

You did the right thing by NOT confronting him for a couple of reasons.

1.  There is more than one Carlos n Charlies and it may not have been from the one in Aruba.

2.  There will always be the "Charlierats" in the world that would never understand even when confronted.

I might suggest you purchase a NH t-shirt.  There are several out there, I've seen many in cafepress.  Wear it like an undershirt.  Next time you see someone wearing a an Aruba t-shirt or a Carlos N Charlies t-shirt in Alabama just take of your shirt and expose YOUR message.  That's it..don't say anything.  Sometimes less is more  Wink

Actually, I wanted to stomp a mudhole in him!   Twisted Evil

He may be exercising his 1st amendment right.  That just protects you from the Government, it don't protect you from me.

But I was politically perfect, and only tripped him down the bleachers.

It's a Southern thang.

I am only a month behind on reading.  I will go read.  Then maybe I will know what everyone is talking about.  Did I say I am all day behind?  Well, there is a reason but I will not burden anyone with my personal problems as they are only temporary but yes, they are pressing problems.  Does anyone remember me praying for rain all summer?  We needed the rain.  I did not need for my roof to spring a leak in the middle of the night with all this remodeling going on or without it.

I'm so sorry you sprang a leak. I hate when that happens.  I've owned 2 homes with flat roofs, and will never buy a flat-roofed home again.  Again, sorry for your problem.

Thanks, Sun, but it is not a flat roof.  It is one of those that goes from 25 feet down to whatever, with several parts joining each other.  Roof is less than 3 years old, guaranteed for 25 years, one of those new Architek or whatever they are.

PUNCH HIS LIGHTS OUT - Just kidding.

I think you handled the situation properly at that time by not doing anything.  You are right in that you don't know how violent it may get especially if he says something that you don't agree with.

If you happen to run into this gentlemen again maybe you can explain to him what CnC's allowed to happen to Natalee in their establishment with the help of one of their bartenders and that they are partially to blame in helping an underage predator into their establishment in order for him to drug a young girl from Alabama who he murdered.  JMO.

Oh, you're so sweet, Gunslinger.  The leak is fixed now but all the upholstery, rugs, new floors.  It had something to do with them not placing the "attic fans" in correctly and putting "flashing" where they removed it,  when they roofed the house.  They are responsible but it is so discouraging.  New paint, new floors, new upholstery and we just had a ot of that done in the last 2-3 weeks.

Sorry for being O/T  again

SYB

I grew up with music in the house. Cab Calloway reminds me of my Dad's music he would play.
Minnie the Moocher is a tune that rocks ! !
Man oh Man, dat Cat could swing.
ps, my Dad was a " sport" and there was a pix of him wearing a ZOOT SUIT. I don't know where it is now, but that Cab posting reminded me and made me smile.
I have a CD of Cab's greatest hits.
Zaz, Zuh, Zaz ! !
Well, it's Long About Midnight, have to heat up some Hot Water 'cuz me and MARGIE goin' tu be Kickin' The Gong Around ..
bye for now... Little Town Gal...   Laughing  Laughing  Laughing
