Embarassed And then I forgot to answer....

I'm happy with the eye that was done already...  20/20 distance...  and I think I'm going to need a +1 lens for reading and computer...  I can get away without it...  but for things to be really sharp and in focus, I'll need a little help from a lens...

And, I think I'm having surgery done on the other one on August 1st ~ I have a pre-op appointment this Wednesday and I'll find out then for sure...

And, who knows...  they say that my brain will continue learning to use the implanted lens for 2 years ~ or maybe even longer ~ so my eyesight might even improve...

It was really wild, cp405 ~ the first month and a half ~ I could actually "see" my brain trying to learn where exactly to focus on the lens for optimum vision...  it was like looking through a manual camera and focusing the lens...  and it happened so fast ~ like the way an expert photographer would bring their subject into focus...  It was cool...  That no longer happens anymore...

But, when I close my left eye ~ and make my right eye do the reading alone ~ there still is a subtle shifting of focus to bring the print in clearly...

(my left eye has a reading contact lens in it ~ and I think, for the most part ~ that my right eye is being lazy ~ and letting the eye with the contact lens do all of the close work...  well ~ that's gonna end soon...  then they're both going to have to learn to work fully...)

For 2 days I won't be here ~ or anywhere on the computer...  and I'm going to do it like my sister suggested, again...  no reading, no TV, no computer ~ sleep as much as I can the first day (drug assisted) ~ I'll just have my iTunes library playing all day...

My eye healed so fast ~ that even the surgeon was somewhat amazed...  and maybe it was from sleeping almost the whole first day...  we heal when we sleep, you know...  I had 20/50 vision the first day...  20/25 after a week...  and 20/20 the second week...

Hope this was helpful to ya, cp405 ~ if you're thinking about doing it ~ I'd find the best eye surgeon in town and check it out...  I'm pleased.

P.S.  I also had the astigmatism corrected ~ it's worth the extra thousand...
