     "For these reasons and many others, we request in the letter to authorities that the investigative and prosecutorial teams be replaced.  'We've always been concerned about the relationship between police chief van der Straten and the prime suspect's father, Paulus van der Sloot,' my brother explains.  'It was never our intent to hurt Aruba or the Aruban people in any way but there's a appearance of collusion' Several members of the task force nod in agreement.
     "It's quiet in the room when I add, 'Oh, come on.  Everyone knows there was a cover-up.'"
     "And to this, Jorge Pesquera, president and CEO of the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association, shrugs his shoulders, nods in the affirmative, and says softly, 'Yes...yes ther was.'"

It may appear that Jorge Pesquera may have had to leave Aruba after making that public comment.

I was thinking it was more like a rat deserting a sinking ship.  I don't defend rats; however, I did poison one last week in my back yard.  (and that's the truth)

     It's a very sad realization that there's really nothing anyone or any amount of money can do for us.  One would think that a reward for $1 million for Natalee's safe return and even $250,000 for her whereabouts would be emough to obtain information.  But it isn't.  Why is that?  The answer is that the information about what happened to Natalee simply isn't for sale.  Most native Aruban citizens have never left the island.  If they were to snitch and tell on someone, they would certainly have to leave there.  What good is all that money with no island?  No home?  There is apparently no amount of money in the world that can get us the answer to what happened to Natalee.  When I asked an Aruban attorney about this, his response was chilling:  "The threat is bigger than the money," he says.  The threat.  That dark influence.  The evil that nothing and no one can pierce.

CBB, it's amazing.  I'm nearly done with it--read it all this afternoon.  It's emotional, uplifting, and so unutterably sad.

I got my copy of "Loving Natalee" today at Walmart.   I have not even opend it yet.

I'm hoping to leave on vacation on Thursday and am going to wait till then to start reading.  Hey I gotta have something to do on the plane, and will have time on Vacation to read  all of it.

So, if anyone wonders why we choose to boycott Aruba, just tell them it is the threat.  The evil that nothing and no one can pierce.  Beth sums it up in a sentence.  This was really powerful for me.

Still back in the thread catching up but just wanted to say Carpe's vidio rocks.

JQK said he has been told there is a team in the Netherlands and a team in Aruba still working on this case.

John is taking them at the word and assuming they are doing things.

Greta asked if they are legal suspects in the system still and John Q. Kelly said yes he believes they are.

Greta said there are a tremendous amount of comments on her blog and a lot are coming from Aruba.

Greta asked if Van der Straaten and Dompig totally out of the picture and JQK said they are gone.

JQK said he thinks it's going to take something unexpected for them to solve this (people talk).
