People never realize what's happening until it's too late.

Socialism and its supporters remind me of that terrifying episode of the old TV program "The Outer Limits" which scared me to death as a child. The storyline was about aliens from outer space who came in and began making promises of Utopia and wonfderful things and getting people to go away with them to their planet. They came carrying a book in their alien language which no one could translate, and they wouldn't give away its contents. Eventually someone determined that the title of the book was "To Serve Man" and everyone felt so wonderful about these new alien friends of the human race. The show ends when a young woman finally succeeds in translating the book. She rushes out to where a craft full of humans is about to depart to the alien planet and screams at the passengers walking up the ramp, "Don't go! Don't go! That book... 'To Serve Man'.... IT'S A COOKBOOK!"

I don't believe in the kind of stuff that program showed, but you get the idea.

People all over the world are getting cooked by socialism and they don't realize it.

Criminal investigation on Namdar-letter  

ORANJESTAD – The exploratory investigation on the letter of Effy Namdar that started around April 10th, is recently wrapped up.   The findings of this investigation provoke a criminal investigation on the matter, announced the Public Prosecutor.  

 This letter was given publicity through Mike William on March 26th.  The letter was not dated, but according to the contents it must have been from before 2004.  In this letter, the diamond dealer from New York , Effi Namdar offers money in exchange for the realization of a shopping mall near the cruise terminal, especially for jewelers.  Namdar writes tht if his company can be granted the land before September 2004, he can guarantee that the completion will be before November 2005.  That would conveniently coincide with the ‘the re-election of your party’; but no names of a party is mentioned.  

The company links these conditions with the offer to deposit 500.000 florins in the party’s cashbox before the elections and another 500.000 florins ‘in the course of a few years’.  The letter made publicity when Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) signed a declaration of intend with Aruba Ports Authority ( APA ) for the development of the harbour area of Oranjestad.  Namdar is supposedly one of the partners of RCCL in the realization of this project.  The question about which political party the letter was addressed to and what the date of the letter is, caused a lot of discussions.  In a letter to the editor of Prime Minister Nelson Oduber in the Amigoe of last Tuesday is stated: “From the beginning I already indicated that our government has nothing to do with Namdar; that we have never asked him for any money for any project; and that according to our investigation, the letter in question is from before our time in office.”  

The OM indicates that it has a few suspects in mind.  But in the interest of the criminal investigation, the OM won’t reveal the identity of these suspects in this stadium.  The investigation focuses on punishable facts, varying from defamation to bribery and also forgery.   If the interest and the position of the criminal investigation allow it, the OM will give more information.

They are late to realize that this Chavez revolution is one click from slavery. With little capital left and Chavez nationalizing most businesses, those with out the means to leave are now realizing they are the new under class.

At some point the US is gonna have to do something... there is no way around it that I can see.

I remember the Twilight Zone.I know how and where Taps was written.It was in 1862,near Sherwood Plantation,as Lee entered the war.It was a song to honor the dead and the setting sun.The campaign on the James river was bloody and a good Idea,but badly led.I have visited many battlefields to show respect and to honor the fallen here and abroad.I feel everyone should.

IndyDan! I just saw from where you holla' in Hoosierland. I was just there last Wednesday! Fell into a patch of poison ivy.  Did not break out, though. Apparently, I don't have the allergy.

Tiger, very interesting. Taps is used in Canada too. There is a cemetary here for the ones who served. It is always awe inspiring to see all the crosses. My GF served this country, Canada, as well as his three sons who served in the second war.
